  • In this video, I show you 2 ways that I have been using Chebe / Shebe to keep my hair moisturize and also to strengthen my hair.
    I got my Chebe from Ancient N Natural : ancientnnatural...
    For my wash day routine, I used products from Kadima Organics Beauty Products: kadimaobp.com/... (use discount code discoveringnatural2020 )

    -----
    WHAT IS SHEBE/CHEBE/CHEWBE?
    Chebe is derived from a mixture of a plant
    known as Croton Zambesicus, Mahlaba seeds, Missic resin.
    Cloves and Samour resin. There are other varieties of
    Chebe known as Croton Gratissimus and Croton Tiglium.
    It can be found all over Africa. It is mostly used
    for medicinal purposes , and in Nigeria, the Yorubas call
    it "Ewe Ajekobale"
    BENEFITS FOR CHEBE
    - Aids in moisture retention
    - Strengthen Hair
    - Minimizes Breakage
    - Aids in Length Retention
    HOW TO USE CHEBE POWER for Healthy Hair
    You can use this powder in an oil, butter or moisturizer. I used it as part of my deep treatment process. This helped to infuse moisture into my hair and strengthen my hair. I apply this each time I wash my hair, which is usually weekly.
    I also use this with my shea butter as my sealant. The powder has a nutty smell and feels a bit grainy. You should only use a small amount when being left in hair so that it is not too visible in the hair and does not create fall out.
    All the products from Kadima Organics Beauty Products are all organic and contain no chemicals. This makes it a perfect match for an herbal hair care routine.

      Yes my chebe arrived from Chad on 17december so I am in my second week! I ground mine down to fine powder so I don't have to wears wigs to work. I added some to my cream conditioner and made an infused oil which I left on radiator for 8 hrs once a week for a more powerful infusion seed free! First week a shed a bit so waiting for weekend. Target is 16 inches growth before trim as I have relaxed hair!

      I've been wanting to try Chebe but I didn't know how to work it into my regimen and still go out in public without people thinking my hair was dirty. I also was concerned about the authenticity of the product once the demand grew. But now that I see that's you've provided a source, I will use it since I trust you. I will probably use Chebe the 2nd way you did in this video. I love your videos! Thank you for sharing! ;-)

      Katherine Miller infuse chebe in your favourite oil over low heat for 6 hours! Sift out seeds (u can reuse those) and enjoy seed free chebe oil but avoid using coconut oil....try avocado, castor oil, black seed, grapeseed etc as more nourishing to hair without risk of dryness

    I just finished my first application and washed it out. The washing out is the hardest part. I almost started to panic but thank goodness I give my self plenty of time to try these new methods.
    After several shampoos and conditioning I managed to wash out most of it but sand like debris still stuck.
    when it was mostly dry I used a tangle teezer brush remove the debris.... and yup worked perfectly. 😅
    Had I not figured out a better way to wash it out i would have abandon chebe powder.

    Your hair looks so BEAUTIFUL after a whole week of not doing anything to it. I have to try this. I still haven't tested my hair porosity. I have to figure out how to do that. But you have a naturally perfect coil pattern. I though ours was the same but yours is like 3mm looser than my coil. So beautiful.
    Was your coil pattern always like this or did it change after you started your hair care journey/regimen?
    I stopped taking good care my hair after my 4th child was born and loss of 4 family members within 2 months following his birth. So now I am pregnant with #5 and want to begin making my hair healthy again.

    Great video. Your hair looks beautiful. Thank you so much for putting the link to this video from my comment on your prior video. The first ingredients you mixed made me hungry...LOL! Anyway, I see the name (with the letter change) isn’t a big deal...it’s all the same. I did go check out the site you mentioned. I might order from them at another time but I already ordered Chébé from another company. I plan on using this the traditional way. I’m not concerned with length retention per se...I’m more focused on helping with my breakage...to me if this is at a minimum or stopped then the length will come.
    Did this help with breakage if you had any? Thank you.

      +Sola...is that your name? How long have you been using this product? Have you even been using it for at least a month before you made a video out of it? Because I've been watching your videos for several months now...You've been taking are of your hair nicely so far without the Chebe...but I guess something better or worse ALWAYS comes along...Hopefully, I'm not being rude for asking the question. I just get irritated if a youtuber gets something new, and comes off as if they've been using it for years. Sorry. But you have a good regimen for this.

      marian B Yes, my name is Sola. About 2 months ago, two of my viewers on TH-cam and also on Instagram contacted me asking if I have ever used Chebe. I got the Chebe a month ago and was intrigued by it. If you follow me on Instagram and watch my InstaStories that is where I share what I use on a regular basis. So, if I am trying something new, that is where you will see that information. I do not show treatments like this until I have tried it several times. This is so that I can provide the best information for you. For example, for the rice water rinses, I tested that for about 6 months due to the benefits that take longer to observe. With this Chebe it was a month test because moisturizing characteristics exhibit their results faster. I will still continue to use Chebe, so keep watching. I have 2 bags so you are sure that throughout 2018, chebe will be in my hair. If you have Instagram , please follow at DiscoveringNatural page

    Sola..thank you so much for sharing this..as I was also looking to purchase the kadima products as I am learning to look after my hair myself now..I was wondering if you can use this as a protein treatment to bring back strength to my hair once a month? My hair has been always natural..so im currently trying to learn to maintain it. Thank s again ☺👍

    • @DiscoveringNatural
      @DiscoveringNatural  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are welcome. Actually, the Chebe and the Kadima hair mask is what I have been using as my protein treatment this past month. I will use just the Kadima hair mask on the first week as my moisturizing deep conditioner and the the following week use it with Chebe as my protein treatments because Chebe does help with strengthen the hair and also balance it with moisture. Great choice.

    Hi Sola, I was wondering.. do you have a schedule? Like how often to you coffee rinse, or do a clay mask..or chebe or onion juice...or do you just modify your regimen based on your needs?? I'm struggling with chronic dryness right now, and I don't know what to do........😣

    • @DiscoveringNatural
      @DiscoveringNatural  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I modify what I use depending on my hair needs and also the season. For green tea spray, that is my liquid for my Moisturizing process. When I don’t have time to make the spray, I will use either plain water or a premix like Obia Naturals Curl Hydrating Spray.
      I do clay mask using Naturalicious because lately I have not had a chance to buy and mix my clays.
      When I notice more shedding due to my iron deficiency, I do the black tea rinses or coffee rinses depending on my mood. Lately, thanks to God... my iron levels have been good so I am just using the green tea whenever I need to moisturize.
      I do not use onion juice in my hair. For the Chebe, I have been using it as you see when I am not doing a protein treatment and just doing a moisturizing deep conditioning with the Kadima hair mask. To moisturize my hair, I would spray the green tea and then apply my diy oil and then seal everything with my Shea Butter mixed with the Chebe. I do this only once a week. I hope this helps you.
      The dryness you are experience could be due to the weather, maybe you not drinking enough water or even if you are using products with glycerin since in the dry seasons, it causes moisture loss

      @giselevandervelde9755 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have used onion juice for my scalp. I have seborreic dermatis, sensitive scalp and it flares out from time to time. It worked for me in term of calming my scalp and preventing/stopping flakes. I then realised it promotes hair growth lol. I will only use it from time to time. It worked wonder for me. Be aware for the smell though. ;-)

    • @DiscoveringNatural
      @DiscoveringNatural  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The grains from the Chebe can get stuck in your locs. I will suggest you try an infused Chebe oil instead. Ancientnnaturals.com sells the oil too. I saw it on their website

    • @JahleeyahKalonji
      @JahleeyahKalonji 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Slvixxen, you can use it on locs, however oiling your locs isn't really necessary and it also builds up because as you know your locs are like a sponge. There is a video on youtube of someone using it on their locs...just search chebe for locs and you will see it. I have locs and was very interested and happy that there was finally an all natural African thang for hair, lolol, I use it on my scalp in an oil mixture I made. I also made a spritz out of it by warming it in distilled rosewater...this way no powder on the locs. If I was to use the chebe oil mix on my loc though, I would use it the week I know I would be washing my locs, that way I would still get the benefits but I would be washing it out soon. This would just be me avoiding build up on my locs though.

      Thank you. The smell was actually not that bad. However, I have a good tolerance when it comes to smells. I also asked my husband who is very sensitive to smells and he said it was okay. • @DiscoveringNatural
      @DiscoveringNatural  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are a few thing you should learn about your hair and your health.
      1. What you eat will reflect in your hair
      2. Your health will-being will reflect in your hair
      3. Lastly the products and techniques you use
      With that being said, make sure you are drinking enough water. Also if you don’t deep condition, make sure you are doing so. Understanding your hair porosity helps greatly. Some ingredients work better on different porosity. In addition, if you have product buildup and you are not shampooing and removing it and all you do is cowash, this can cause products not to work as well.
      Send me a message on my Facebook page DiscoveringNatural if you want me to work with you one on one

    • @Rhys-Morgan
      @Rhys-Morgan 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chimee76, try Chébé and ostrich oil.. I was having the same problems as well. Ostrich oil has the 3 omegas that hair craves and that store bought products lack. If your hair is going through extreme shedding you may be deficient in a vitamin(s) or you’re anemic which iron pills or foods high in iron can help increase your loss iron levels/give oxygen to your red blood cells. The Chébé has help my hair tremendously these last 3-4 months of its use

    • @Chimee76
      @Chimee76 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      JA Rhys-Morgan ok, i'll give that a try. Thanks for your suggestion.

    • @Rhys-Morgan
      @Rhys-Morgan 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chimee76
      Do your research thoroughly on Chébé before you commit to it. If you decide to try Chébé, buy a 50g bag for $19.50 as a trial run period. It’s small but it should last you about 3-4+ months if used conservatively on individual braids (like a twist out) instead of 4 large section braids. If your health is ok and you’re eating your fruits, leafy green veggies and consuming plenty of water to keep your body, skin and scalp hydrated then it’s the products and/or coconut oil you’re using.
      If you have time go over to rainforestchica and research Brazilian butters and oils for hair and scalp. She has a channel here as well. Her website is very informative and Chrys is very knowledgeable about her products as she is Brazilian.
