Oh for the love of Pete! People are so stupid. If you want to buy a pricey planner/wallet, get one. You are doing such a great job with paying off debts and keeping yourself in check with what you spend all the time. It is not the end of the world to have a nice wallet to carry around your precious cargo in. Sheesh people! Keep doing you!

Omg, this reminded me I bought a Kate Spade planner organizer about 2yrs ago or so. It was on sale for SUPER cheap. I put it away because I used all the months, and got a different planner for work. Now I know what Im going to take it out and use it for! SUPER CUTE

I love Kate spade planner/wallet combo, I have been doing cash envelopes for two years and have been Thur 10 wallets and 5 planners all on sale and it is the way I can stay motivated and interested . I don't think it is any ones business what you buy to help you save money overall. I also give away or sell my old unused wallets and planners at Platos's fashions. Honestly, it's your money and your using it to contribute towards helping you with your savings/budget. I have the Rose gold Kate agenda. I use it for a wallet as well, but is a planner lol. Great video🥰

I made some envelopes, I don’t remember the sizing but the left over parts of the cuts I used to make another envelope, like mixed and matched and just lined them up to make another envelope, I loved them!

Hi Alyssa! Thanks for the new video! I actually just sat down to start mapping out my bullet journal! ( I know, I'm a little late but hopefully I can have it all ready to use for March!) & oh boy I'm struggling with bouncy letters LOL. I'm temporarily laid off right now but plan to do the baby steps and cash envelope stuffing once I start working again. AW don't listen to awful people. You're sharing your journey, and people get so bunched up about how everyone has different priorities. Some people really need to take a vacation, even when they're getting out of debt. I think that you buying a tool to keep your finances in order (AND ON SALE TO BOOT) is hardly something to scoff at. It has greater value to you than just the name; it's something that helps you stay on track with your finances and inspires you to stay organized. WE LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, and you're willing to share the tips and tricks to stay organized with finances, which I know really helps me in my journey to debt freedom.
I'm also curious, I don't know if you've mentioned this before but with a binder wallet like this one, what do you prefer to do with the change you receive?

I also view this purchase as sort of a purchase for my channel as well, since making these types of videos does contribute to my income and people have been really wanting to see the Kate Spade wallet setup! 😊 So for change with my Filofax, there was a zip portion of that wallet and that's where I kept my change until I got home to put it in a jar. But in this wallet there is no change zipper! Which makes sense, since the indented purpose is as a planner. But I'll most likely purchase a little zip pouch that can fit in this wallet and hold the coins. I'm so glad my videos help you! ❤️

Yes enjoy your planner, wallet whatever you want...life is to be enjoyed and the material things are for now, when we transcend we all will have plenty of time to do without. Always someone to rain on your parade. I can’t afford a lot of things sold in magazines but when I have a chance to get something I do and I don’t feel guilty.

I'm really liking the opening being on the long side, it makes putting the cash in and taking it out SO much easier.
Love the new wallet! An idea I saw on another channel that you may like: she had both the Filofax and a Kate Spade as well and made envelopes similar to yours. She used the Filofax for her day to day stuff and put her sinking funds in the Kate Spade. I believe that was just because the Kate Spade rings were a little larger and accommodated the sinking funds better? Anyway, I liked that idea and thought you might as well! Happy budgeting.
Oh very interesting! That's not a bad idea.I personally just feel more secure having my sinking funds in my safe 😊 And I want one of my subscribers to get the Filofax. But I think that would be a good method for a lot of people! They would both probably easily fit in a lot of safes!
@@alyssamakesamigurumi oh yeah. I would still keep it in the safe! But I thought it was a nice way to keep it organized in there. Plus, the envelopes all have holes then and it would be very easy to take one of your sinking funds with you if necessary!

I’ve seen on Etsy that people sell ‘mini cash envelopes’. They are small envelopes for people that fold their money in half in their wallets. So you could actually sell the extra piece of card stock that you cut off, just mini ones!

I have the same paper cutter as you and I’m measuring accurately and making sure the paper is straight as possible before cutting but it’s still coming out uneven. Any tips? Super frustrating 🥺 it’s harder than it looks I guess lol

What size envelopes will fit into the filofax personal organizer? I already have envelopes and they are 7 by 4. I was wondering if they will fit into the filofax. I'm hoping the zipper won't get caught on the sides of my envelopes

The Filofax works so great! And it's an awesome option for people who like color! I'm more of a neutrals girl personally and I wish they came out with some neutral color options!

I followed your tutorial step by step but when I punched the envelopes I noticed that the holes were closer to one end than the other.
Is it the same for you, and if yes, does it cause any issues in the planner/wallet?

Tip: the Agenda 52 hole punch used in the video is sold at Hobby Lobby for $25. BUT it goes on sale every now and then for $15.

If you turn the cutter the other way, you won’t need to cross your hands one over the other to cut, OR you could secure the paper with your right hand and slide the cutter with the left hand.
So, instead of wasting the left over paper, to save it if you would want to, why not make like laminated card holders. Some people like to just run out the door and dont always like taking their wallets/purses. So, you could make little card holders and sell on your etsy shop. And if people wanna put a keychain on them, they could punch a hole in it themselves and buy the keychain at Walmart. Just an idea, if you dont like wasting the left over paper.

Last time I sold envelopes they were $17.50 for a set of 6. I'll be doing sets of 5 this time but they will be priced similarly. There are lots of cheaper shops out there but I have to do what works for me given the time investment 😊 I hope you can get your hands on a set of mine!

For the longest time I used a coupon organizer as my wallet! It has like 12 different dividers and it worked great as a VERY cheap wallet option when I just got started. I think it was under $5 from Walmart!

Debating wether I should laminate my envelopes or just use paper. Is it hard to get money in and out of the laminated envelope?
Hey! I just did my cash envelopes using card stock and packing tape instead of laminating (cheaper but takes longer). You can def use just paper but it won’t last as long. Hope this helps :)
