Great video PJ, very cool to get Vern’s small town perspective and so nice that he was able to bring locksmithing in as a complementary business to his main one off doors and windows 😊
This is a good interview and good perspective. I can really relate to a lot of those points. And man I can't wait to get back to Silverwood. It's one of our favorite vacation spots.
I started in a hardware store at age 12, duplicating keys, cutting glass, fixing window screens. Years later, I worked in glass and mirrors, storefront aluminum, and ended up a locksmith! #LockBoss
I've found that doors warp. Or people change weatherstripping and doors work right. So I've ben staying away from them. Install lock and leave. Jut yesterday a guy came to me and said push door in and use pocket knife you're in. This has nothing to do with lock. Weatherstripping is wrong.
I think I can sum up his advice really easy. Find out what talent you have put it work Don't admit defeat even if you don't know how to do the job, just learn how. And also become an example of what a potential #LOCKBOSS can do.
Very solid advice from people that know what they're talking about. Thanks for making and sharing this video!

William, great summary! Thanks for posting that!-PJ
He reminds me of my friend Bob. Bob will spend 3 hours to make sure the job is done correctly even if he quoted them $50

Don't tell to a auto locksmith that you didn't went to school for it. Most of them don't like it.
