Murphy Door Hidden bookcase door with book latch

I've always wanted to do this. I bought it pre hung and assembled. Delivery took about two weeks. After I painted everything, I spent two days installing it. The book latch took some trial and error, but it now works great. I built a couple fake shelf supports, one I hollowed out to hide the book latch cable.

What apparatus did you use to create the latch? I bought one recently myself but want to add the fun book latch. Was thinking a gate latch maybe?

Do a search here on YT for Murphy door book latch. There's a video showing how he installed it, (Lee S), and I bought the kit from him. It includes the book, the cable, the attachments, and instructions. I think his web site is secretdoorways.com It was around $100. Once you have it installed, it's very cool. I wish I could show the responses I get from it.
