Yo my dudes and dudettes what's good? welcome back to the live stream of my struggles, it's time again for the "IN THE ATTIC WITH ANNE HOUR" Today we'll take a look at this funky bookcase that's hides the entrance to my secret attic door. If you haven't already, smash that fucking like button and ring the bell to stay up to date on all things Franktastic.
If you're referring to the blue exterior door, I had to look again but I think it was a water spigot. She didn't appear to turn it, it may rely on fingerprint tech
Honestly that first bookcase one was my favourite. Dont want electrics and slow moving parts that can go wrong or have someone catch you going in or out. Simple and stylish works best.
When i lived in germany in the 70's i was hanging out with a friend at his house. He told me there was a tunnel under his house that went for about 2 blocks. I didnt believe it. But he took me to a closet in one of the room. And sure enough. Their was a door and stairs leading down to a long hall under the house. It went on at least an 8th of a mile. And their was rooms. Later i found out it was built back in the 50's for US Military familys to go to in the nighborhood incase of an attack by russians. It was forgotten over time. I guess. It has access to i think 2 other homes along its route. We could see inside every house on his street. Nobody even knew it was their except his family i guess.
The best were the ones that hid the seams. Showing a out of nowhere handle, tiling that has a random additional cut or hinges randomly on the floor is something that sparks curiosity making that "hidden" spot not much of a secret.
My wife and I inherited her fathers home, after a couple years I decided to remodel the basement and when I did all the measurements something was not adding up. The basement was smaller than the house itself. I took 6 more months to find that he had created a secret room and a tunnel to the detached garage. My father in-law was one of North Carolina's most notorious bootleggers in the history of the state. A very large elaborate still was in there as well as enough money in a metal box to pay off our vehicles and take a cruise . Today the room is in use as a storm shelter and (man cave) the still? Its in use too, you can't have a man cave without one!!
Josh no you can see 4 magnets holding the tile in place. If they were just putting the tile in they would have used grout (I’m pretty sure but that might be for in between each tile don’t quote me) and not magnets.
These are pretty cool. Major drawbacks are that some of them would be very slow to get into if you were using them as a panic room, AND, for most of the fancy ones, you'd need to have electricity to get in/out ... which might be a problem. I'd also like to see how easy those bookcases are to manipulate once they're full of books ;)
That's what I was thinking... Not the best way to hide a secret room. Kind of like the one with a random door handle on the wall... "Gee, I wonder what that's for?"
Some of these are pretty damn neat, but the one that stood out for was: 2:35 Something about the concept of the whole cupboard being a door makes it seem so much more unimaginable, and therefore more hidden. Very nice.
Or build it yourself. But I absolutely agree. The entire bit of the cupboard would be easy to open for anybody who knew, but would be impossible for someone who doesn't know to find.
Those tile ones on the frame for those jacuzzi tub aren't secret. You have to have an access door for the plumbing on a jacuzzi tub. Every single tub like that has one, it's part of the plumbing code in most places.

Maggie Sue I agree. They'd be better without those indications. Anyone who owned such a room during the underground railroad times had to make sure it was well hidden.
This are really cool, but some of them open so slow, which I know is so that you don’t get hurt probably, but I need one that I could hide in when someone tries to come in my house and if it takes 10 minutes to open and close I’m going to be dead.
They’re all very aesthetic hidden rooms but I’d rather have a panic room where it’s manual, opens fast and doesn’t have obvious hinges/handles. My point being that all of these seem more like “I have a secret bathroom/closet/storage room/wine rack/bar that I have a remote to have it open slowly so I can impress people”
Most of these are really cool and true to the "hidden" or "secret" aspect. Except for the few with exposed hinges sticking out of the floor/wall or highly visible 1/4" + gap in the flooring or wall materials around the opening. LOL
My grandfather's house had a room with a closet that looked normal from the outside, but if you went inside and closed the door behind you it was dark. True story.

Ren de Estuardo Falcó you’re thinking of the Adam West Batman series with an identical Shakespeare bust with a hidden button led to the secret entrance to the Batcave.
I love the one where you can see the hinges sticking up out of the floor. Also, the reason that they have most of these is so they have a secret place to go. However, they are so impressed with themselves, they just have to film it.
My friend as a kid had a slightly secret room his basement. There was an oversized light switch turned side ways which opened the lock. They had a giant freezer and random junk in there.
Secret rooms and passages are common in English country houses built in Elizabethan times. Elizabeth I was so Protestant that she sentenced Catholic Priests to death for performing Mass. Many old families were Catholic and wanted Mass, so they built rooms and passages for a Priest to escape to if the Queen's soldiers showed up. Soldiers soon learned to measure and compare inside and outside dimensions.
Carpe diem Ha! I was thinking the same thing but the panic room wasn't hidden, was it? Just very secure. It would be cool to have a secret, safe place to hide your valuables. And yourself, if necessary. As a little, mischievous kid, I loved hiding, much to my mom's dismay, especially in department store clothing racks. (Sorry, mom!) I still like hiding occasionally, for whatever reason, so this appeals to me. I'm aware of some bars/clubs that have camouflaged entrances. I can think of one in Chicago called Violet Hour.
The one that really impressed me was the second video, wow, that's given me an idea, to build a fire place, and the secret door will be the fire place itself.
"Hey man want a drink" "Sure" "Okay well you're gonna have to wait a full minute for it to slowly rotate and then another full minute to get the tv back"
I was shocked when I saw those secret rooms,,,and I definitely don't expected that there was a room in there,,,,,,all I thought that it was a wall or a furniture,,,,,you guys who made that secrets rooms are so damn good,,,

Ren de Estuardo Falcó you’re thinking of the Adam West Batman series with an identical Shakespeare bust with a hidden button led to the secret entrance to the Batcave.

That’s fucked up
I love the one where you can see the hinges sticking up out of the floor. Also, the reason that they have most of these is so they have a secret place to go. However, they are so impressed with themselves, they just have to film it.
is this jenny mcclain the porn star? anyway, the videos are produced by builders to promote their products...
I've always wanted to build a house with secret rooms and stuff it would be SO COOL
My friend as a kid had a slightly secret room his basement. There was an oversized light switch turned side ways which opened the lock. They had a giant freezer and random junk in there.
This is awesome!! Someone send me a video of the actual mechanics behind these,, ive been wanting to do this fer a long time
Dude google got the schematics
What fer? LOL!
If your "secret room" takes more than 2 seconds to open and close, it's completely worthless as a secret.
They didn't say 'safe room', they said secret room...
radar ...and?
lov to see more of that room with red window trim
Imagine someone standing on top of the door u can’t get out
Ugh! Creepy!
Or they put a heavy couch on it. Or heavy table.
3:09 I thought these are only in spy movies lol
Same
Secret rooms and passages are common in English country houses built in Elizabethan times.
Reminds me of the movie Panic Room with Jodie Foster.
Carpe diem
The one that really impressed me was the second video, wow, that's given me an idea, to build a fire place, and the secret door will be the fire place itself.
"Hey man want a drink" "Sure" "Okay well you're gonna have to wait a full minute for it to slowly rotate and then another full minute to get the tv back"
Dude thats sick lol you got skills 😊👍👍👍✌👆👏👏👏👏
Elijah Mohammed bahhahahahah
I was shocked when I saw those secret rooms,,,and I definitely don't expected that there was a room in there,,,,,,all I thought that it was a wall or a furniture,,,,,you guys who made that secrets rooms are so damn good,,,
Where ya been
As far as construction goes, 5:08 wins by far. That bookcase can actually support a lot of weight because of the way its hung from those railings.
The first book shelf looked good but imagine the weight of it loaded with 700 lbs. of books? I wonder if the hardware is tough enough to handle it.
