I would normally support the opposition (as the underdog), but we want people of high integrity to represent us in Parliament. RDU members have a very shady past of hopping opposition parties and poaching from other party members for their cause. Sorry we cannot stomach such disloyal and low-integrity traits in parliament with the current opposition line up for Jurong GRC.
WP and PSP members also mostly from other parties. The opposition space in Singapore is hard to navigate... Now got like over 10 to choose from. It's OK to party hop if they do not represent what you stand from.

I wonder if Tharman and his team actually LIVE in Jurong?? How many of them live in private homes? In most countries around the world. Elected parliamentarians and elected representatives live in the SAME area, districts, counties, etc as the people they represent. They couldn't possibly understand the NEEDS of the Jurong residents.
Hi @GigiH, from a requirements point of view elected members of parliament do not need to live exactly where their constituencies are. I'm not too sure where you got your examples from, but this is true of most parliamentary democracies throughout the world. You don't have to believe me, but you can do a simple search of gov websites - you can start with the UK for instance. Of course, we tend to trust figures who live where we live, do what we do more than if they don't , which is why most candidates try to stress their "roots" and call themselves "sons/daughters of xyz neighbourhoods etc" At the same time, Singapore is a really small country so honestly if our MPs walk the ground regularly and are present during MPS that's what really matters. And of course, we practice this particularly quirky movement of electoral boundaries - on a practical aspect, it's a bit of a logistical nightmare if an MP were to keep shifting houses and flat every 5 years!

CNA has done this for ALL the Nomination Day party candidates - PAP always on the top panel. There is a psychology behind to the placement of these images. Top = 'winner', "stronger', 'more powerful', 'leader'; Bottom - 'second place'. weaker' 'follower'. Nice try CNA! I guess AS ALWAYS, our media sources can't help but show us just how BIASED and partial they really are.
