It's already available in the UK in RHD. Though, America is poor at doing business in the commonwealth. The market most like the United States. In English speaking Africa, almost no American consumer products exist. And it's not Wakanda.

The crazy thing is, this is the first ever production AWD Corvette and the Vette is 70 years old, all Chevy (and GM) did was to make the Corvette a year sports car now, and to think there are even more powerful versions still to come, hats off to the Corvette Team and I can't wait to see what else they have planned

As good as this E-Ray will be in its own right in 0-60 times and on all on all surfaces, it was not designed to be an "all-out" track car (road course track); it's designed to be a straight through car (i.e. drag and roll races, etc.), but the Z06 was designed to be a true track car for the entire 8th gen of all models, and it weights much lighter than an E-Ray (E-Ray will weight 4,000+) at ~3,650, and has a race-tuned (in it's track mode) suspension setup that the E-ray won't quite have here, and the Z06 will kill the E-Ray in terms of exit speed on the turns at any race track. Only thing better than the 2023 Z06/Z07 for the track that the public consumer can buy will be Z06 GT3.R coming for MY24, which will be a real race car that is not street legal.

@@kevinmiske9598 E-ray coupe is 3890 lbs... that is only a bit over 200lbs more, not a lot in the long run.

The fusion of innovation and performance showcased in the video is truly commendable. Moreover, upon closer observation, I couldn't help but notice the absence of the distinctive black element near the doors, which is a bit unfortunate but it adds to the sleek and refined aesthetic of this remarkable vehicle. Kudos to the Chevrolet team for continually pushing boundaries and delivering excellence in automotive engineering.
Can't imagine what the zr1 will be like! If they do the TT 5.5L with the electric motors insanity!
I’m pretty sure the zr1 will be full gas. The zora will be the tt version of the lt6 engine with 1000 hp.

@@andrewcox3137 you’re right about the ZR1 being full gas it’s going to be twin turboed LT6 and the Zora variant will be just like the ZR1 but come with the electric AWD option. That Zora is gonna be the king of the roads mark my words.

wrong. Tesla runs mid to low 9's and Lucid run's low 9's. Its not trapping 150+ in the 1/4. New king? lol not even close. There are 10 cars that run in the 9's dummy.

Increased production means decrease in quality control
I asked the same question at a dealer and they said that since the Camaro is being discontinued that they would be able to increase Corvette sales
someone from Bowling Green said they are planning to add a 3rd shift in early summer. that might make it possible to build all 3 variants but still keep them somewhat limited in volume overall. I only read that in a new blurb, I have no proof, but it would make sense if they can do that.

The V-8 is there just so the Corvette can make it back home when the battery goes dead. They used to say that the Jaguar should have a bike in the trunk so it can get the driver home when the car quits.

It's over 300lbs heavier than the Z06 and makes 15hp less, it can only launch better than the Z06, so the Z06 destroys it in every other category of performance. The price difference is $2,000. I'm certainly going to prefer the lighter and more agile Z06

@chabweezy9905 the Z06 is still faster in a straight line. It's got 15hp more and weighs over 300lbs less. The only reason why the E-Ray does so well is because it uses AWD to get a better start off the line, then the Z06 just pulls until it passes
@1badmfkr the ZR1 comes next. It's a supercharged or twin turbo version of the LT6, and will be called the LT7, and 800hp is the target
Now I'm not a brand loyalist but I gotta admit that Chevy is knocking it out of the park with the new Corvettes!

@@Tattletale__ would be twin turbo and no electric and maybe a Zora will be a twinturbo plus electric. None are going to hit that hugh revving high power NA plus electric motors.
yep, that will be called the "Zora" model for the 8th gen here, and it's expected to produce 1,000+ HP which will be insane here for the brand.

It wouldn't be 1000hp. 670 engine + 160 electric motor = 830hp. Still would be an insane car. I have a feeling this is what the C8 ZR1 will be.
@@nicb7350 I think the ZR1 will be a twin-turbo of the Z06's 5.5L V8 for around 850hp. Then the Zora will have the E-Ray's electric drivetrain added to bring the total HP to around 1000.
@@Christopher_TG Im not sure if they will have a ZR1 and a Zora. I have a feeling Zora will be the name used for the new ZR1. I'd be shocked if GM had 5 different performance models for one generation (not including Z51, Z07 sub-packages)

Honestly, this was the most genius thing they could have done to make the Corvette more fuel efficient. Hopefully eventually they'll be able to achieve Prius/Volt-like efficiency eventually, it'd make this the ultimate cross-country road trip car!

No plug. It uses regenerative braking to charge.

i had an idea for an offroad corvette..the ZR2 offroad package corvette...it has a poofy offroad suspension with big like 33 tires...a lightbar in the front with rails on the sides under the doors...a swingout spare in the back with fullsize spare...light guards and stuff like that fender flares...maybe a scaled down twin turbo duramax...it would be great for backroads and snow driving..no more scraping stuff and potholes.

I've had my 2021 C8 for almost 2 years now and it's been dead reliable. It was perfect from the factory and continues to run flawlessly. I'm looking forward to the AWD ERay!
@@olddoc1 I’m glad to hear it’s been reliable. Unfortunately my experience with GM products has been the exact opposite.
So the battery pack is right under the driver and passenger. What happens in a wreck or if the battery pack decides to spontaneously combust? Do the occupants die from the gasses released, or do they burn to death?
I mean i guess you could ask the same with normal engines either if crash power could go boom
@@lemonke1709 Not really. Gasoline and diesel powered engines are pretty safe. They don't suddenly go up in flames or explode. Gas tanks no longer pose a serious threat, even in a catastrophic crash.

Whats the electric-only performance like?
Not great, top speed of 45 miles an hour, the electric motor is more of a supplement to add power to things like 0-60 and help with keeping the car stuck to the ground. Good stuff, but the electric motor in stealth mode does not do much, small battery.

While I am very much on board with EVs, THIS is how you transition. You keep the V8, show people what the EV can do, and in time people will be more receptive. Taking away the V8 just makes people hate the EV regardless of how good it is
