- Dallas Cowboys news focuses on Cowboys OTAs after the team wrapped up their 2nd (and first open) practice for the 2024 edition. Cowboys Injury News has popped up once again on Luke Schoonmaker as he and others missed practice today. Despite not having players like Zack Martin, CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons at Cowboys Organized Team Activities, there were some positive updates for players like Dak Prescott, Brandin Cooks, DeMarvion Overshown and more.

Schoonmaker , not surprising he was injury prone in Michigan which is why he was 25 when drafted from College. This is a chance to have The giant UFDA taking reps and possibly taking his position and dropping him in the depth chart

Jake is gonna get the majority of the reps. See how Schoon develops. We are definitely stacked at TE. Hendershot has shown flashes except when tripped Aiden Hutchinson. Lol. Stephen’s can definitely catch and this new guy can definitely block so we got a good variety. Fant was a project but may be left behind.

N AND Y. We have an amazing te coach who can seemingly get the most out of a te room that has no definative te 1. If he can't help schoonmaker in year 2 I'm out. But until this year is over I'm in.

Did the Cowboys really need a TE in the 2nd round last year? You had Ferguson, and Hendershot who were trending up, even Sean McKeon wasn't bad.
No, especially when he's older than the first 2, and the last still only turns 27 in December. (Schoon turns 26 in September)

There was no TE drafted in 2024.
Schoonmaker is not any good. He had a 4th to a 5th round grade on him and Dallas took him in 2nd round when the highest rated guard was sitting there. Terrible draft pick.

O' Cyrus Thomas. If we had picked him, kept Tyler at LT. We could have Selected a top DT with our 24th. Top Edge Rusher. Or top LB. Could have traded down and still got a Better DT. Than Mazzi. And picked a RB. With a third from trade down. Tyler drafted to be Tyronne 's replacement. Also maybe a top receiver with our 24 or in the 2nd round.

Schoonmaker….you don’t practice, ya don’t play. Unless your Emmitt Smith who was a dedicated Professional.
Schoonmaker has given me no reason to be IN. A player that cannot stay healthy cannot contribute to the success fo this team. Sean Lee, for all his skills and leadership capabilities, did this team no favors because he simply couldn't stay healthy. I'm hoping all of these early injuries aren't a prelude to another disappointing season where all these guys are watching the games because they can't GET INTO THE GAMES.
Too early to be out on Schoonmaker he's had some bad luck...

Huh? Better be some competiton .. Zeke is washed.. Dowdle had 4.1 yds/carry last year but always gets hurt .. Freeman had 4.0 yds/carry last year but has had years in the 3's. Deuce Vaughn averaged 1.7 yds/carry last year and should be cut. You desperately need some Young/Quality legs in the room ... beyond that Dowdle, Freeman, And Malik Davis on rotation and see who has the most juice.

He has dropped in yds/per/game every year since. Last year Zeke averaged 3.5 yds/carry and 37 yards/game = pathetic. Dowdle averaged 4.1 yds/carry last year. Freeman averaged 4.0 yds/carry last year. In the "real world" Zeke is washed and shouldn't be in a uniform .. Why nobody picked him up except for Nutty Jerry.
