Which camera would you opt for?
Mike, good question! I am currently looking to get 2 camera bodies. I like the A6700 for sure, just trying to decide if I want 2 of them, or one and a FX30 for video specific work!
If you don't do over an hour of long recording in 4K and don't mind the single SD card, the a6700 definitely is a good choice alongside an FX30. If you want to be able to make up for the shortcomings of the photo features of the FX30.
Hi Mike! It's been awhile since I've commented on one of your videos! For all the reasons you mentioned I now have both cameras as well. The two other reasons I added the a6700 were the weight difference for travel, and the ability to trigger a flash. Although I'd love a second card slot, I have no problem shooting the occasional paid photo job with it (only one so far). Having the two cameras has been handy for the channel, and no issues matching footage of course. Awesome job with the video, as usual.
Matching the footage definitely is a big reason to stay with the latest cameras as well as similar UI. Man if this camera had 2 sd cards, I wouldn't even bother with full-frame haha

I've been dabbling a little bit, but still seeing what other possibilities we could customize other than customizing our own picture profiles and bypass creative looks altogether.
As a video-guy, I’ll definitely get the A6700. It has the same video specs + great photo capabilities, and on top of that, a better price. its no brainer to me

awesome vid bro, I had the a6700 then the fx30 went on sale for 1600 body only, I switched to fx30 instantly, dual cards/no overheating/ and especially the body design sold me at the end

What’s the image quality between full frame and apsc? Is there that much of a difference? Let’s say you have equal focal lengths and aperture. Would the image out of both look that much different? I.e fx3 vs fx30?
There is a difference I do have a video on this between full frame and crop sensor cameras 🙂
There is some math involved and you would not be getting the same amount of light nor the same focal length equivalent between both if you used the same lens.

I haven’t timed the cool down but at least 5-10 minutes would be reasonable.

When you are streaming the church service are you doing that with the a6700 or fx30 ? If it’s the a6700 does it not overheat ? It looks like you were doing HD30

I don’t stream with either of these cameras. I just record. The 6700 does overheat even more quickly than using the USB streaming mode.

If you are hybrid shooter and on bidget get a6700. But if you do video heavy work fx30 is best.
I just bought the a6700 and it should arrive tomorrow! I do 80% video and 20% photo sometimes also paid work but I didn't have a lot of budget (I'm 17) so I went for the a6700. I dont do long records and just in case I bought also the ulizi fan which should be fine. I come from the a6300 so it's a huge upgrade, and fx30 doesn't have the viewfinder which I often use. I trust enuff the only 1 card slot, I had no problems in the past 4 years, I bought some v60 and v90 reliable sd card. And if you plan to use an external monitor you should buy also a small rig cage which has the hdmi cable holder. One thing I prefer of the fx30 is the body and buttons, but the new grip and front dial will be okay. thanks for the comparison Mike!
Wise invest man! If you had an atomos recorder you could also use that as a redundant backup. But anyway, big upgrade for you! I just know you’re gonna love it!

@@flmmkrI’m really happy with my purchase, the image quality is amazing, if you want wacth my last video youll see😃. It overeathed to me only one time and after i put on the ulizi fan the camera stop overeathing. Before buyng make sure you have a computer that holds the big file size, in my case with the m1 base model i’m fine in resolve, sometimes in big project i create always proxy becouse 8gb of ram is not always enuff

Is there any difference in colours? Or image quality and low light performance? Cause I have heard that FX30 is flat and got colours like FX6 and is sharper than FX3.
Does A6700 matches that or nah?
I haven’t tried the fx6 or fx3. But I hardly notice much of a difference between the two fx30 and a6700. I matched them fine.

I’m taking the switch to the cine version of this since its kind of stiff and would be easier to pull focus.
For professional videographers, the FX30 is the only choice. As a solo content creator, the A6700 just makes so much more sense.

I got the a6700 and a ulanzi fan for 30$ and it never overheats on me why pay more for less of a camera?? That view finder is amazing🤷🏾♂️ and beisdes the internal fan and the dual card slots ur not getting much more

Paying $400 more for less of a camera doesn't make a lot of sense. Dual cards is probably the only feature that is important to professionals and means nothing at all to me.
Then its a perfect timing for the a6700. Would be nice to have dual sd card slots with it though 😅
Gotta say the internal fan is nice as well. I’ve done a lot of outdoor recording for hours and hours with no overheating issues at all.
@@MikeBSalazar No practical need for a dual SD card though, just for me. Get a better SD card and you are all good to go. Fast upload and download speed.

Why would you buy the fx unless you get paid for jobs. 6700 way better.
Valid point. A6700 is definitely more than enough for many.
