Love what you discovered about the stamps - don't worry, I also did not know what a cashew fruit looked like. I'm glad you got to enjoy some cashew's and too bad the version of the rubber-tapping stamp wasn't the same as our chosen mail date, darn!
About the mail date - no you did not confuse me I simply just cheated 🤣 I hoped you wouldn't notice or wouldn't mind. The reason is simple- I have Monday's off from work (but I work late evenings on Tuesdays) so I was only able to go to the Ayr post office for the cancel on Monday. I figured it would not actually enter the mail system anyway until Tuesday morning because I went in the afternoon!
From what I could find Ayr was named by a person (Robert Wylie) originally from Ayr in Scotland (actually he was the communities 2nd post master.) And all I could find about 'Frae Ayr' is it's a line in a poem called 'Tam O'Shanter' ... It's a bit of a weird poem, I'll let you decide if you like it or not. Apparently the phrase Frae Ayr means 'From Ayr.' And finally like you said the Thistle is Scotlands flower, it is also seen on Township Crest of North Dumfries (which Ayr is part of) that shows 'Nature, Industry, and Agriculture.'

Thanks for the information, Lisa. I’m always interested in learning more. I will do some research on the poem by myself too😉

God was happy you cheated Lisa, so much so he made it sure, and more significantly the incoming cover letter on both sides of the swap arrived at it it's destination on the same date. Hope Richard has another collab with you in a few weeks. Best wishes from Goa-India

@@goanbingo Haha! I don't know if God is happy about cheating but I am glad the letters arrived at the same time. I'm glad Richard was ok with me having a little 'head-start'

Richard! Thank you SO much for collaborating with me, the S&R Challenge has been so much fun and I could not wait to watch your side of the challenge! I really hope we can do this again in the future, maybe it should be an annual activity if people like it! Regardless we will always be the original 2 participants of the S&R Challenge 😎

Well done!! You both are awesome. And I also am obsessed with cashews, especially if they are salted and roasted 😋 nice work Richard and Lisa!

I love that you and Lisa did this! This is such an awesome collaboration and I hope to see you two do it again one day 😊 the stamps she sent you are so pretty, I especially like the stamp with oranges on it 🍊 I had no idea that natural rubber comes from trees and I had no idea that is what a cashew looks like on a tree 😂 thank you for another awesome video Richard!

Thank you for mooting the concept of a collab of S&R with Lisa, and it worked so well that you guys received each other's swap cover letters the same day. Thank you Lisa for choosing stamps from the country I belong to, and Richard for his extensive research. I truly loved the mail/stamp art on the cover by Lisa, a lot of thought behind it and the choice of stamps - fauna -more to my topical preferences. On your part, Richard, I liked your profound effort to research on the same. Hope from time to time, you guys come up with more such collabs. It would be nice if you have the likes of Bob. Ted and even Graham on board, knowing the fact that the level of expertise may vary but on research am sure you all will be on common ground. Love from Goa, India.

Hope you guys have more collaborations. Sri Lanka has rubber plantations and we produce natural rubber. About cashews, its very famous in Sri Lanka. Other than the seed of cashew, we eat the fruit. It is a seasonal fruit in here.

Frae Ayr : From Ayr, Scots dialect. Ayr is pronounced Air like the stuff we breath. Naughty Stampcat! she sent you a torn stamp, unless a stamp is super rare throw awaytorn and creased stamps. I like the video and learned things
