After watching a few episodes in this series, came back to this one which was one of the best. Never knew John Smit was such an affable guy not to mention Juan and Scalla. Muscle cars/project cars - what a pain in the neck that is. Got that T-shirt as well.
Lansdowne Road, I was there. Very frustrating. With the Irish then winning, some of their supporters got very cocky. If there was ever a day that I wanted to give somebody from the opposition supporters a poesklap, that was the day. That was a very difficult night in Dublin. 2002 Twickenham was way way worse.
Jean, I met you and spoke with you at Newlands last year when DHL hosted the William Webb Ellis trophy prior to the World Cup kicking off. I also asked you more questions at the Q&A than everyone else who attended, combined. I rate I'd make an excellent co-host! :D
@@hernan5940 Yes I remember at the time having a read about it,lots of stuff kicked off badly as the Springboks were underdogs for the first time for a world cup for a long time, they had lost their disciple against England and had a really dirty game (2002 I think?) and ran out of ideas so they dragged a the guys off to the camp. Think there was a load of racism stuff that can out of the camp as well and the fact the camp was like sending someone almost to war prep! Got crazy but that's what they did, interesting to read about anyway!
John Smit 100% my favorite springbok captain
👍

He is on point, rugby needs more eyes on South Africa digitally. It'll make SA rugby broadcasting rights more expensive.
