I remember working at Planes State Jail and having two of them there… Those inmates would take their commissary a lot . They looked so out of place but they wasn’t .

The judge should be ashamed of himself for only giving them 7.5 years!!! Are you kidding me?

I really like this show and one of the reasons is because Roberts approach which makes it feel like we are all just sitting around having a duscussion. I would love to see the show reach out and cover stories from across the country.

If it was a young black male, that sentence would have been quadrupled.

What did these criminals think was going to happen? They needed to be punished for their crime. Prison time was what the court decided.

I remember this well. I was 19, and all I can say is Set It Off inspired a lot of people to commit armed robbery. I’m glad I was smart enough to know it’s just a movie and everyone but Stony died in the end!!!

To a teenager, 7 years might as well be 700 years. They have had time to realize - they forfeited what should have been one of the last periods of total freedom and childhood.

7 armed robberies and she got ONLY seven years and a half years? He could have made each count longer and/or run the sentences consecutively!!
If that was me, the Judge can make any note-worthy quip his heart desires, if he would give me a sentence like that!! wow! lbvs

Does 71/2 years not satisfy your sense of vengeance against a teenager. You are perverce.

I don’t like the girl that’s interviewing. She’s seems too juvenile. Would much prefer someone older who was around during these crimes

I believe this judge would've spoken differently to a male. Don't get me wrong, she deserved prison but some men like to humiliate women whenever they can. He could've done the same thing in a more constructive way that would ensurethe message got across.
I am curious of how he deals with the females in his life. It's very subtle but I bet if they were boys he would've addressed them in a different manner in more respectful manner. How many defendants he tells them to approach so he can berate them. People hear their sentences in the same place where they heard their verdict. I believe he's misogynistic.

That's not true.. I'm a True Crime buff and I've watched sentencing's where Judge's have spoken just as harshly to male juvenile's and adult men..

There's no reason to assume this Judge is an abuser or controlling toward his wife or Daughter's based on his statement to these 3 female juvenile armed robber's. ..They gave themselves the moniker "Queen's of Armed Robbery" they were proud of their crimes.. They bragged and laughed to their peer's about their armed robberies.. They thought they'd be spared prison time because they were teen female's glad they were wrong .

I agree. The tears were genuine. He is punishing her for being a female. In his eyes females should not commit crimes

@@davidc3839 That's not why they received light sentences except for the 1 girl who received 4 years.. Judges know females commit the same crimes that men do including brutal murder's A lot of women have murdered their own children and a dozen+ mother's who murdered their own children have been put on Death Row.. I think these girl's genuine remorse, being their first offense, and the fact they didn't physically injure or kill anyone had a lot to do with their light sentences.. The one girl who was an adult received 4 yrs in prison for the robberies..

@@davidc3839 There was nothing misogynistic about why the Judge gave all but one girl a light sentence he gave 1 girl 4 year's in prison.. Judge's know women commit the same crimes that men do including brutal murder's.. A lot of women have murdered their own children or husband's or ex husband or BF or someone else.. Triple digits of women were put on Death Row for committing heinous depraved murder's.. I agree with part of your post their genuine remorse has a lot to do with their light sentences.. Also their ages and the robberies being their 1st offense had a lot to do with the Judge giving all but 1 girl a very light sentence..
