The dentist thing is true. When I went to Aspen in Bellevue for a promotional discount cleaning. Dentist tells me I need to have 14 different procedures done right away. Went to my regular dentist who I've had for like 15 years at that point for a second opinion. He tells me my teeth aren't in great shape (not his fault at all, I just don't take care of my teeth), but there's nothing urgent and we'll fix things as they break. Says this is the course of action he'd advise if I were his own son.
Dude is retiring in September and I'm getting weepy as I write this. At my last appointment he told me how proud he was of me for getting into law school.

Used to work at the office of a breaker's yard, we were a bit more "professional" than your run-of-the-mill scarp yard but they did some shady stuff. For example, most of the cars we got in were stripped for parts and then what was left was supposed to be crushed and send to the smelter to be recycled.
The amount of people who used to take the stripped cars in order to use them in a "cut and shut" job was disturbing. When I mentioned this to my boss he said we had no evidence (one guy told me to my face his intentions) and once the customer has left our property with the car it wasn't our problem anymore.
It was a shame because despite those questionable dealings I quite like working there, the breakers were very "salt of the earth" types but pleasant enough and none of them looked down on me just because I was the "office lady". When my car's engine died and wasn't fixable they got me a reconditioned one out the warehouse and only charged me for labour :)

I worked at Walmart in 2011 in Pennsylvania, can confirm that they were super anal about going over 40 hours. They would strictly hire part time only. Not to mention the ridiculous hierarchy within employee ranks, managers would easily get away with berating anyone below them, I quit after my supervisor fucked up and left a voicemail on my phone of him talking shit about me to my coworkers, I took the proof to HR, well he’s still working there now.

Those CVS surveys only count for perfect scores only one 4/5 and it's considered a 0.

I always laugh at the people who complain that a product only costs a fraction of the sales price to produce, as if advertising, R&D, and overhead were free.

When you give your donation to the grocery store for childrens Hospital, the corporation claims all your donations as a tax right-off.
Corporations who make BILLIONS in profit need to pay their share, but instead pull this scam instead.

I worked at a Mexican frozen food factory. The largest in California. I was mixing spices for orders. This one employee told me? You only have to worry about the total weight. I tried to get the weight of each ingredient to approximately one ounce. It seems by doing so it took to long. They said i was to slow. How can you compare the quality of the mixing of spices to the quantity of spices? I think that the recipes should be as exact as possible. I don't think there was any type of testing on the buying an a market and testing the product. What do people think about something that the recipe taste wise? Maybe it was just me trying to get as exact weight of each ingredient compared to total weight. Hmmm... 😊
