So he was my friend, then I developed a crush on him. Totally liked him but kept it hidden. Then he got mad at me, because I sort of disagreed on some random topic, and threw wood chips at me, they hit my eye. Christmas break went over, never mentioned it, I still hung out because we had mutual friends, my best friend, and then it came out that he didn’t support gay people because it went against “gods word”. I understand religion and beliefs based on it, but I just cannot accept being cruel or unaccepting of people just for who they love. Edit: He also later said “ugh I bet she’s a feminist” in regards to the female owner of the boxing gym I go to that’s all girls. So condescending and gross, we don’t really talk anymore.

I walked into a party and she was moping in the corner. Oh no, I went over and asked her what was wrong. She said her new boyfriend stood her up to stay at home with his wife again. I walked away laughing because that was the stupidest thing I'd ever heard, and crush was over.
He was really funny and nice to begin with, but he started changing the dynamic of our friendship, as if to challenge me. He'd bring up topics that I wasn't too sharp on, or argue with me pointlessly when I had an opinion. He'd act like we were in agreement, but then just randomly start asking me to defend my statements. Even over things that were just opinions. He'd say he loved my favorite band, but then ask me repeatedly to debate on why they were or were not worthy of my admiration. Like, "Well, I like them, but why do YOU like them?" Or, "Yeah, that's a great movie, but why did you like THAT part so much?" I couldn't tell if he was agreeing or disagreeing with me, and it just felt like he was always trying to be unnecessarily challenging. He wanted me to show more opinion than he was willing to do. It grew old rather quickly. I'm not into debate. I have to assume he just didn't like me very much. Bummer, because he really IS a cool guy, and he only seems to act argumentative with ME.

He's probably insecure and is secretly intimidated by you because he sees something in you that he doesnt have. So he tries to assert dominance over you as much as he can to try to bring himself up, no matter how small or petty it is. I've been around people like this before.
Assuming that you're a guy as well. Because if you're a girl and he treats you like this, then thats super weird.

Had a crush on a girl during junior year of high school, my friend told me “she’s not allowed to date because she’s Mormon”. He never actually confirmed that she was Mormon, he only said that because he knew she had been to Utah before (that part was true). But I believed him at the time.
Senior year comes around. The crush had stopped but I still had an immense amount of respect for her as a person. So we became friends. Found out after graduation that she WAS Mormon, but my friend from before had still told a lie because she never actually told him she was. Even worse, yes there WAS a reason we couldn’t date, but it had nothing to do with Mormonism. It was...get this...she had a boyfriend! She proved the first guy wrong on so many levels.
Ultimately I’m ok with the outcome. I gained an amazing friend, and then debunked a lie, while finding out that I would not have had a shot with her anyway.
TLDR: my friend told a lie about her to me when explaining why I could not date her, and I believed it, but I found out it was true, but it was still a lie because he had no proof of it

In 7th grade, I had a crush on a boy who was in a few of my classes. Innocent stuff, these things always happen. Anyway, a bunch of us went on a camping trip towards the end of the school year. We were all together eating lunch in the group picnic area, when we all turned to see my crush walking towards us without a shirt on (he fell into a nearby creek), and just the sight of him shirtless was enough for me to change my mind about him. I thought he was much more fit than he actually was, I have no idea how I got that notion, but it completely removed the attraction. I acknowledge the immaturity, as I was TWELVE YEARS OLD AT THE TIME.
Liked a guy for a few months, then he asked me out. Crush on him immediately went away when he broke up with me the next day and basically admitted to only asking me out as a joke between the other guys in my grade.
Best friend since first day of new school. Liked him for the entire time I attended that school.
Talked to him a lot, he was always excited to talk to me and we'd talk about fandoms and stuff.
Slowly, though, he began getting more toxic. He had real anger issues (irl two-faced Bakugo from BNHA basically). He would get mad over the simplest things, if I messed up or had a different opinion, or refused to do something for him (like let him have some paper), he'd get annoyed and would stop being my friend for a while.
It made me feel insecure, he was one of my only friends so I was too attached to him. But it felt like I couldn't talk to or he'd burst out.
Eventually my other friend picked up this behavior too. It was worse because he had a crush on me but I liked my other friend.
I couldn't say anything because I was too scared and I was lonely, but I stopped trying to cling onto them, it was obvious I didn't matter to them and I was only there if they were bored (I was a girl and they were boys).
Soon, right as I finished school, I stopped talking to them completely. They aren't my friends anymore.
So, basically, get yourself some friends you can be yourself around. If you feel like you have to restrict yourself around them too much, they aren't the ones for you

Worked with someone who I thought was a cute butch girl my age(note I'm a very open ace lesbian) went out for food one day after work, and after a bit of talking, I asked and found out he's a closeted trans guy. I was like alright, this might still be something. Still cute, and nice personality. But nope. Found out on the car ride home he was also over 10 years older than me. Near immediate turnoff.

I mean, it didn't really kill the crush, but it did put a damper on it. My crushes dad decided to verbally assault my dad in a convenience store parking lot while my dad was getting something to snack on during his shift as a postman. He also tried to get physical, but my dad was having none of it and got in his truck before the dude could even try. All because my dad called the schools out, of which my crush's dad was the principle for, for their bullying problem on Facebook. So my old crushes dad thought it was a good idea to verbally assault a mailman in uniform. Which is highly illegal, as you're verbally going after a federal government worker. That is if my dad decided to press charges. Instead, my dad got ahold of the principle's boss and made it clear that shit wouldn't fly. Yeah, I wasn't very impressed. If his dad acts like that, lord knows how he acts. The guy was cute, but like, I don't want to know how he turned out with a father that thought verbally assaulting someone and trying to physically assault someone in a parking lot over criticism that wasn't even specifically aimed towards him in particular. Especially someone that could get you five years in federal prison for trying to attack him while in his uniform. Let's just hope that his son turned out better and can handle facebook or social media comments without going and trying to assault the person posting them.

I confessed to my crush in sixth grade because of a dare.. well! everyone teased me (And him) for it, but the way he handled it was joining in on the teasing on ME... three. years. later. I'm friends with his sister.. he acts nice when just me and him are talking, sweet guy... but then as soon as we go into school he acts like I'm crap, and he's not my 'friend' as he said when we were alone. (After sixth grade I was done. so no I don't have feelings anymore. it just really hurts because I don't have any friends in my class, its a small school, my class only has around 20 kids)
Had a crush on a girl in my freshman year of highschool. I had confessed my feelings and she pulled the whole "I see you as a brother" thing, which is fine. Met this guy back in 2018 at a bar who I had an instant crush on. Totally not my usual type; he was very alternative with gauges, tattoos, and such. We hit it off instantly when we met because we found out we shared the same birthday and had a lot of things in common. After that night, I didn’t see him for awhile (we didn’t exchange numbers) until about a year ago. We got back in contact and started hanging out, but more on a platonic level. Each time I hung out with him, I lost my crush more and more. I found out that he’s a perpetual couch surfer who can barely hold a job for more than 2 weeks, owes a bunch of his friends money, and is a hard drug user. I still run into him from time to time at the same bar we met at, but I keep him at a friendly distance because if he hangs around too long, he’ll ask for money. 🙄

dated him for over a year, so many off-putting things that i ignored because i was manipulated into thinking he’s the best i could get & that he would unalive himself if i left him. he broke up with me out of nowhere a year and a month in but he told me he really wanted to get back together eventually. was strung along for 6 months & asked him a million times if i should just move on and if he still wants to get back together and he would always say he did want to get back together, that he wasn’t seeing anyone, and that we’re still committed just not hanging out. he asked me multiple times within that six months to be fwb and would send/ask for nudes and other things. ended up finding out he had been seeing a girl since a few weeks before we broke up and had been doing stuff with her since months before (this still wasn’t the dealbreaker). confronted him about cheating not only on me but his new girlfriend and he told me “you have no proof that didn’t happen” and just lots of gaslighting so i sent the proof; his girlfriend was reading the messages over his shoulder. he started blaming me for “making him lose the love of his life and ruining any chance at happiness he could have” insulted me quite a bit too.. i still can’t believe the amount of patience i had with that guy
He was an asshole to my mom after she did him a favor by driving him to school in a blizzard instead of letting him walk the whole way like he usually does.

I had to be in the plank, dude was so competitive he started running, eventually I couldn’t catch up with him and fell, dude proceeds to drag me across to floor to the finish line. This one's a long one: I started kinda losing feelings for this guy when he gave me his Webkinz account and sent me pictures of his favorite stuffy. No judgement here, I just felt it was a little childish and it was a turn off. I REALLY lost feelings when something happened back in high school:
He asked me what I was doing for my lunch break and I thought it was kinda weird since I was at school and only had a 30 min lunch break. I told him I was going to starbucks with some friends. The starbucks was off campus but it's really close to the school, and Sophomores+ were allowed to leave campus during lunch. That was the end of the conversation. He just said "cool" or something like that and that was the end of it. Then as my friends and I are walking up to starbucks, I think I see the guy's car in the parking lot. My suspicions were confirmed when I saw him sitting inside with a laptop. Keep in mind he never told me he was going to visit and I never invited him. He also didn't know when my lunch break was so my best guess is that he literally just sat there and waited for a long time hoping I'd show up. I told my friends about this and we made our orders, grabbed our stuff and got out of there asap. I never confronted him about it and about 4 years later we're still friends, but I still feel weirded out whenever I think about this. I think he's just a really lonely and socially awkward guy. Doesn't make it right to borderline stalk somebody though.
+ We worked together, and one day he randomly showed up to my house to give me my paycheck and some ice cream. Thought that was freaky too. I was actually kinda scared of him for awhile.
TLDR: the guy I liked showed up in the starbucks by my school to catch me on my lunch break without telling me, and also decided to show up to my house unannounced

My crush admitted to feelings as well…..cool. Issue is she’s the biggest flake of all time. Now I’m admittedly a flake so that’s saying a lot, but this girl will ghost me for a good 6 months at a time then randomly hit me up to tell me how much she wants me. Ok I have a thing that I need help with. And yes I know I’m probably a bad person.
So there is this guy that I had a crush on for awhile. This guy was kinda nice and was the complete opposite of my ‘type’. The problem was that I am best friends with his little sister.
One night they ‘pranked’ me telling me that he had a crush on me. Of course I over reacted. But I knew it was a prank so I said that I didn’t like him.
Okay so fast forward a week or so. I get his snap and we start talking. He would snap me in the morning and night. The next day we went on a call. He practically pried it out of me to tell him who my crush was and he had to tell me who his crush was first. He had freaking three crushes. One of them he covered the rest of the letters and it only had the first letter of my name.
Me being the girly girl I am was supper happy and excited to find out it was me. I told him that I liked him back and told him to NOT tell his sister.
So the next day rolls around and I’m feeling a little different about him. It’s like I don’t have a crush on him anymore. I tell him it and he basically told his sister that I had a crush. I practically die on the spot.
I cover it up by saying I have a crush on one of my classmates, which is not true. Everything goes well but something was off.
I sent him a snap of my brother because why not and I wanted to break the awkwardness. I know he could have been busy but he left me on opened. I haven’t said anything yet.
I think he is ghosting me (and I give him all the right too) but I don’t want him to hate me. What do I do? I don’t even know if I like him or not now.
We went to a water park together and I watched him wait in line for the water slide all awkward and wet and shivery, got the ick real quick lmao no idea why women’s brains work this way
