Not saying it's not freaking awesome, but we've heard this song from them and countless other bands over the years. It's sad to see a band fail to evolve and try something more creative. I just have a love hate relationship with this genre.

I'm very proud of Carnifex, I've been around since the beginning since Slit Wrist Savior, I first met the band in August 2008 in Seattle at Studio 7 when I was 17. They have evolved. They deserve what success they have, because they have worked very hard to get where they are today.

( In my opinion) This song just goes to show why Carnifex will always be one of the pioneers of Deathcore, not to mention it also shows that adding melody to something that is immensely dark and heavy as fuck can elevate it even higher than anticipated! Its been amazing watching this band grow over a decade! With every release they just keep getting better and keep setting the bar higher and higher!!

Got to meet these guys at one of their shows. They had sent me some free merch after they found out my grandma had died, and at the time i saw them they were having van troubles so I gave Scott an O'Reilly's gift card and at the end of the show he gave me their setlist. Nicest band I've ever met and remain my favorite band.

Very true but I gotta say, as a die hard Carnifex fan, I gotta give them some credit. I like Die Without Hope and Slow Death, not nearly as much as I like Dead In My Arms, The Diseased and the Poisoned, Hell Chose Me or Until I Feel Nothing and I accepted that this is the route they are gonna go down. This song in particular is very well written and it fits the more symphonic approach very well.
Hell Chose Me will stay my favourite and will always remind me of the old Carnifex but they do what they are doing nowadays so well that I am not ashamed to call myself a Carnifex fan, as has happened with alot of other bands, who just sold out and made shit music.
This is not a blackened deathcore band with a major deathmetal influence but a symphonic deathcore band. It is just the way it is. Still rips though^^

@@dantyovhell8650 Honestly I wouldn't want them to go back. Like... on one hand I would love to hear a "new" HCM but on the other hand I think HCM is something that can't be recreated. In my opinion that album is perfect. Just straight up perfect. And trying to top something that is perfect always ends up in shit. So I think it is a good decision to try something new.
I mean looking at it HCM takes everything good from Dead In My Arms and The Diseased And The Poisoned and makes it even better. Until I Feel Nothing had some elements from HCM but a totally different feel. Not darker but more... melancholic at times. Then with Die Without Hope they took this melancholic and depressive feeling from Until I Feel Nothing and turned it up a notch by adding some, not many but some symphonic elements. I personally liked it alot even though it was clearly straying away from their old music. With Slow Death they decided to go down the Symphonic Deathcore route and it was the best decision they could have made. Because otherwise they would have either tried to top HCM and gone to shit or become generic af as most other bands. But since there aren't that many Symphonic Deathcore bands out there and they are really fucking good at Symphonic Deathcore it's the best for them.
HCM is beastly but trying to recreate it would turn into a disaster.
Carnifex took more advantage of Alissa's talents in one song than Arch Enemy in 5 years. That says a lot.

Alot of bands I've been listening to for close to a decade have changed and grown into something that doesn't even resemble what they used to be but damn if Carnifex isn't killing it staying closer to their roots. Last couple albums have been so good, I dare say their best.
