      Well, actually it isn't animal cruelty. They just inject the drug, it isn't far more different from living in the nature. They have free and instant food, don't need to stay alert and run from dangers

    • @brusschain5769

      @@BioTheHuman I've seen video evidence of at least one research facility that kept chimpanzees isolated in metal cages not much larger than themselves. The chimps were visibly mentally disturbed, most of them way too far gone. I'm inclined to believe that there are many more facilities like this, considering this facility (the federally funded Oregon National Primate Research Center) had to be infiltrated in order to expose the horrible conditions. Animal testing is NOT just injecting a drug. It can vary from incisions made to the top of an animal's skull to forcing an animal to inhale tobacco smoke for 60 days before killing it. Animal testing is animal cruelty.

    this is a pretty concept but at what point does the chip stop being just a chip and become an actual organism sustained by life support?

  • @tiktoola
    @tiktoola 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    As with any simplified model it’s just as good as your selection of cells, metrics you follow and sample size, you cannot model the whole organism so beyond very primary testing it can’t go. Very good for initial or very focused cases but you cannot test complex systematic effects this way (like influence on longevity, hormones etc)

    "An absolute and permanent ban on vivisection is not only a necessary law to protect animals and to show sympathy with their pain, but it is also a law for humanity itself.... I have therefore announced the immediate prohibition of vivisection and have made the practice a punishable offense in Prussia." - Hermann Göring, prime minister of the state of Prussia in an August 28, 1933 radio address. The ban on vivisection shortly expanded nationwide across National Socialist Germany. How sad to think it's been almost a century since then and no nation has adopted such a profound ban on animal experimentation as 1930's Germany.

    0:51... and I already feel terrible about all what he is saying...is also risky to experiment on those animals, FOR THEM, in fact maybe worse because sometimes we kill them for those experiments or even dissect them alive, but is ok because is not like they were like us...wait...they are a lot like us, we just have the advantage to use them for our own means, that have nothing to do with them other way, I am fine with experimenting with humans, at last humans agree or understand a bit of what they are doing...for their own specie that was the one asking for the products used to experiment on those animals.
