    Nice video, I live in Europe and this kind of vehicles are really common, the are only few differences (in the case of my country: Italy) are that we don't have active shooter equipment, but we keep an MCI kit, and also 2 defi/monitors, a portable ventilator and a Lucas, (and in some case like in my Region also a portable ultrasound machine) ,another major difference is the staff: In our car there is always ALS staff so it can have: 1doctor 1nurse and an EMT(driver) or can also have: 1EMT and 1Nurse or 1Doctor and 1Nurse, so it never has just one operator; and the last difference is that this car (in Italian: Automedica [literally: Doctor car]) is called jst for critical cases, and always come out with an ambulance.
    Thank you for showing American emergency vehicles, is always interesting to see differences and qualities; sorry for my english.

      Yes, certainly for NHS trust mercedes truck and van types, mostly yellow. The batternberg is , in different colours , specific to police (white/blue chequers), fire (red/yellow) and ambulances (yellow/ green). But it's important to say that not every ambulance is an NHS one, there are lots of private companies that run individual colour schemes and logos.
      And we do not use red at the front.
      The fire service reportedly trialled purple years back, but it got washed out in the sun (so I was told).

    We would use Green/Yellow check for this car
    Blue/yellow = police
    Green/yellow = ambulance or similar
    Red/yellow = Fire/Rescue
    Black/Yellow = Highways officer (think DoT officer, not law enforcement but deals with crashes, debris on the roads, broken down vehicles in dangerous positions etc)
    Red-brown/yellow =Urgent Blood or Organ transport

I do have one comment that leans heavily towards the negative. Wearing a uniform shirt, especially a dress uniform shirt with blue jeans is one of the most unprofessional things many people make. It just shouldn’t ever happen. Blue jeans with a department polo or t-shirt when off duty is one thing . But whether on or off duty, you should NEVER wear a uniform shirt with blue jeans.

    That's a very nice unit. I wish we had them instead of the somewhat inadequate Hyundai Santa Fe we have in Australia as our version of a chase unit. • @jryan5184
      @jryan5184 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The emergency lighting is based on state laws. In Pennsylvania (where this agency is based) the law for Fire / EMS vehicles is primarily red lighting. Police utilize Red / Blue (however can operate just red by statute) and volunteer EMS / Firefighters can utilize blue on personal vehicles. In neighboring New Jersey and Delaware all emergency vehicles are authorized to use red / blue; in New York all emergency vehicles utilize red forward and have the option of using blue only in rear facing setting. Most states also permit the option of white forward facing and amber rear facing, just depends on where you’re at in the US! Thanks for the positive feedback and questions!

    On our Emergency Doctor Cars, staffed with either a well trained EMT or a paramedic as driver and an emergency doctor (actual M.D. with advanced training to handle prehospital emergency care), we carry most of the equipment which we have on our ALS Emergency Ambulance, apart from the stretcher, spine board, scoop stretcher, immobilization equipment and stair chair, but thatfor it has equipment not carried by the ALS Ambulance like e.g. the mechanic chest compression device for CPR, cooling compartment for certain medication, in general a much wider range of medication, surgery bag and a videolaryngoscope

      Do doctors get called to every job, or only the most critical jobs? Is it likely they will upskill paramedics and replace the doctors with those paramedics? We're introducing more and more "doctor" skills to paramedics here in Australia.

    • @EnjoyFirefighting
      @EnjoyFirefighting 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@coover65 no they're only dispatched to potentially life threatening emergencies. A normal ALS Emergency Ambulance staffed with EMT and paramedic can handle many situations on their own, but for more critical patients or those which require a wider range of medication they'll send the doctor car right away, or the Ambulance calls for it once they're on scene and see that the doctor is required. No, it's unlikely that this will happen; No matter how well trained a paramedic is, the doctor still has a doctor degree and has much deeper knowledge on indications and contraindication of some medication, pre-existing illness and on-scene patient handling. Sometimes we see also more than 1 doctor on scene, the most I've experienced was 3 doctors on scene of a precipitate labor: normal ALS Emergency Ambulance, me on the "normal" Emergency Doctor Car, a seperate Children Emergency Doctor Car and additional to that a Newborn Doctor Ambulance (Doctor Ambulances are basically an ALS Emergency Ambulance with the emergency doctor already part of the regular crew, and that particular ambulance only handles newborns

    • @coover65
      @coover65 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EnjoyFirefighting What an informative answer. Thank you. In my state of Australia we have doctors who work on High Acuity response units, and also on our helicopters. There is a push and a trend to upskill selected paramedics to perform procedures normally reserved for doctors. All up those paramedics have had at least 4 and a half years of training.

    • @EnjoyFirefighting
      @EnjoyFirefighting 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@coover65 unfortunately a lot the paramedics have learned and are trained on can't be done on their own here; Thus a lot of medication is reserved to be handled by doctors, so there's rather the legal aspect behind it

    • @coover65
      @coover65 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EnjoyFirefighting You hit the nail on the head there with the legal aspect. When we were told about paramedics being trained to do a lot of advanced procedures, we expected backlash from doctors. Our top surgeons were as excited as us, and were instrumental in designing a training program. In essence you can only move forward with the support of politicians and the top people in health departments.

    Good to see battenburg markings but think that the European system of blue = police; red = fire ; green = ambulance/EMS and in England the clear markings on the Highways England vehicles also good. Having a clear marking including the red/yellow standard rear markings work well. If you look at NYPD their vehicles look too similar to city vehicles so they would benefit from a battenburg marking.

    • @EnjoyFirefighting
      @EnjoyFirefighting 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      well it's not like that across all of Europe you know ...
