The UN's failure on protecting the Palestinians from Israeli occupation is the very reason it is irrelevant: not because it is critical of Israel.
Definitely agree with you. Both sides want a state and they are both right to try to protect themselves from their 'neighbour's thread' as any country would. As critical as it may be for the İsraelis, it is also critical for Palestinians. When palestinians and İsraelis can't get along a conflict rises and Israeli has one of the best military in the world. So they best Palestine, and Palestine who gets hurt tries to start another conflict to defend itself and rebel. Then again Israeli is stronger so they hurt Palestine more, than Palestine wants to hurt the other side. İt's an unfinishing loop and UN fails primarily because it can't somehow find a way to protect both sides.

Please, the US treats a lot of non democracy countries better than a lot of democratic countries. Just look how they treat Saudia Arabia, UAE, and Kuwait.

the United Nations is just a slightly stronger version of the ancient "League of Nations" that existed before it. For all intents and purposes it's woefully weak for the purposes it's been set up for, if it cannot enforce it's dictates and decisions it's nothing more than a letter writing organization.
Reminds me of the old saying, "yeah you and what army?" the UN perhaps by design has no such army. A World Peace can only be enforced by a force of arms to violently intervene against those who threaten that world peace. It's as simple as that. Pax Romana and Pax Mongolia didn't exist on any sort of "honor system".

It has to do more with nuclear deterrence than with UN.
The UN enables and enhances this risk by giving more than deserved power to dictatorships. It stifles any progress by overlooking basically everything. And as a mock display of action, sanctions a FEW people now and then after SEVERE breach of international law. Iran, North Korea, China and Russia are now actively and regularly speaking about actually using nuclear weapons. See, that's what this safespace logic brings. Akin to religion.
