I played with this plane while I played war thunder and I love how much detail you put into everything and how everything just fits together continue making cool work like this
There are 2 perspectives of looking at works like this: one is to look at it as a work of folk art and the other is to look at it as an entry to an IPMS contest. An IPMS diorama category judge would give this work high marks for conception and execution (the water...!, the base...!), but not so high marks for originality (the "story" is weak), and detract more points for the hugely out of scale birds. An aircraft category judge would not even give a second look at the aircraft model (I'm guessing resin 1:144). But from where I stand, this is a true masterpiece of creativity ❤
@@CrankyPantss Listen pal, i have done 5 years of comedy theater - proof in my profile - so i am far from being shy. I have also briefly been a judge in WW1 plane category on my national IPMS contest. So I have nothing to prove to you or to anyone who doesnt understand the principles of competition scale modelling. If you want to know how a proper, kick ass scale aircraft model looks, there are plenty of channels in youtube eg PLASMO is a great channel. Go to a channel like that, watch some videos (IF you have the patience) and then compare how panel lines are made TO SCALE and how decals are made to look painted on and not to look like toy stickers. I wrote above that minibricks makes money out of their models so i dont want to bash this creation because it is not addressed to a scale modelling audience but to COLLECTORS. And this is a different perspective / audience and the diorama is GREAT for this purpose. So I'm not OBSESSING on nitpicking as you said, I take the diorama's beautifully weighted composition, its amazing water rendition and leave it at that. And you should too.

A totally brilliant design. In the seventies I tried using the clear discs for the props that were included in the model kit. No matter what type of wash I used I could never achieve a satisfactory result and so I would drop the landing gear and make the aircraft a static display. Resin was out of the question.

It was a real piece of art, this is what should be selling at opensea, i wish one day i would try this, even though i know it wont be as perfect as this, also during the video i though the texture of the wood you polished at the start would appear through the clear water (even that it wont be realistic) but i think that would have embraced this polished nice piece instead of it becoming passive in the last work, it is a really nice plate/base but a bit passive and anyother piece would have appeared as special as it did in the end
