    I have no idea how this video went past me. Thanks so much for sharing this! I've been looking into something like this but had no idea where to even start.

    This is way easier and more flexible than the techniques we used way back in the late 20th century and it looks fantastic - thank you!

    Waterslide paper is used to make decals for guitar headstocks. This is a great alternative to polaroids. Thanks so much for sharing!!

    Never heard of water slide paper before. This technique is super cool - especially like the fact that you can use different sizes (rather than just the standard Polaroid size). Thanks for sharing this!

    genius! thank you for this, i’m so excited to try this! polaroids are so expensive - even if you print them using the little polaroid printers - and i too can’t bring myself to butcher them.

    Done the same type of thing with original Polaroid peel-apart film a while ago, when you could still get peel-apart film, but then again I’m old! Anyway, love this and can’t wait to give it a go. Thanks for sharing

    I noticed that you used clear water slide paper, does it still work with white water-slide paper?

    Hi! This was EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you so much for making this video! I have a question. I'm not sure if you will still see this... But the first example you showed you put the paper in the water with the transfer. The second example you showed for allowing some movement with the image (EXACTLY what I want) you showed the paper outside the water tray. Was that paper dry? Or did you wet it first? Thanks!

      So sorry for the late reply! But i need to ask what kind of paper you are referring to here. Right now I'm thinking of darkroom printing paper, which i don't think would work as it can't be exposed to light and has different properties than waterslide paper... can't say for sure tho

    Independently discovered this process as well. But I like your technique of spraying the medium first before dunking it in water. I've been enjoying the random emulsion floating off the surface but I'm going to buy some spray and try that as well. So fun experimenting with this isn't it.

    Super cool!! Decided to try it! I’m getting a ton of cracking... first the ink kept running even after 3 coats. I left them to dry over night after 4th spray, and then sprayed 5th time and let dry only 10 min and now ink doesn’t run anymore but when it dries it cracks really badly 🤦🏼‍♀️ Any ideas?

    • @srad.
      @srad.  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you using the same kind of waterslide paper I did? And what kind of spray are you using?

    • @beattabosworth6002

      @@srad. I’m using Hayes Paper Co Inkjet Waterslide paper, and Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating. Thanks for any thoughts!

    • @srad.
      @srad.  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@beattabosworth6002 hmmm, so I would suggest maybe trying a different paper and see how that works. I know if I move the photo around too much or use the brush a lot it tends to cause more cracking. Also make sure you're doing thin and even coats with the acrylic spray. In my experience, if I let them sit too long before putting them in water they seemed to crack more. Its all about finding a happy middle, takes some practice! Hope this helps!!
