SubhA this is not only mind blowing but totally a game changer. I have ways felt the 'traditional' translations to be problematic. I've been on a very long journey and InshA feel closer to the true message of the Quran than ever before. Please keep up the fantastic work ,this is vitally important for the believers. Thank you and Allah bless you with continuous enlightenment.

Subxanallah this is so beautiful and mesmerizingly mind blowing, I have noticed that actually it is not even correct grammatically to refer to الملائكة because this sounds like جمع مونث or حمع التكسير and so many other verses use ت with all the verbs that refer to the angels:
تتوفاهم، تري الملايكة، تعرج الملايكة، تنزل الملائكة تاتيهم الملايكة
So the verb would have been قلن or قالت
Thanks and Jazakallah for this unraveling this deep meaning.

Aameen! Thank you for your duas at the beginning and the end of this presentation.
There is no accountability for any being who is not given the ability to choose between "fujuur" and "taqwaa". Without this ability, it would be impossible for this being to raise any questions.
MasyaAllaah! What a great lecture, Dr. Hany! Alhamdulillaah...

While agreeing with you that angels can never question Allah's actions my humble opinion is that you have taken the interpretation of verse 2:30 to a different metaphorical level which is controversial. However, that is your interpretation and we may ponder over it. Like I mentioned in my previous comments Quran has layers of meaning and you have dealt with a layer that was not attempted by previous interpretations of Quran. Therefore, please don't ridicule them as ignorant or arrogant. Some of them were pious predecessors of Islam.
I have learned something from your noble efforts and may Allah bless you for that.

Part of understanding the Quran ACCORDING TO THE ORGANIC QURANIC METHODOLOGY (not according to my opinion) is to understand what the Quran says about those who belied and who ignored the ayats of Allahh.
THIS IS NOT ME RIDICULING EARLIER INTERPRETERS ! THIS IS THE QURAN EXPLAINING WHY THEY DID NOT SEE THE AYATS, AND WHY THEY MISINTERPRETED AND MISGUIDED SO MANY GENERATIONS. (Capital letters used only to highlight the importance of what I am saying, not to scream!)
      Regards

    • @nakeebissadeen1606
      @nakeebissadeen1606 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@MarvelousQuran jazakallah alkhair for your explanation.
But isn't it outrageous to claim that until you apply the organic methodology all predecessors haven't interpreted Quran correctly and the Muslim umma has been ignorant during the past 1,400 years?

    • @MarvelousQuran
      @MarvelousQuran  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @ Nakeeb Issadeen
If using the "ummah" argument was valid, then the Christians, and the Jews before them, would have a much stronger claim to truth... So don't use the word "ummah" in your argument, because Allahh deals with each individual separately, not as a group... rigt?
And therefore, Here's the same question you asked, but articulated using the Quranic terminology:
"Is it outrageous to claim that an individual who belied the ayats of the Quran is misled for a long period of time?"
What is 10 such individuals belied the ayats?
What if 1 million individuals belied the ayats?
What if 100 generations belied the ayats?
I hope you see the point! I know this is Yucky and painful! But Truth is often bitter! And detoxification takes a lot of courage!

It was pretty obvious that the traditional interpretation did not make sense as to how angels could have known that God was creating a new creation that would cause bloodshed etc. as if they had the ability to access God’s knowledge as to what human beings would turn out to be like and further more when the angels consult God supposedly about Jinn on how they were corrupt and why God is creating another creation “humans” that would do the same? How did they know what God’s new creation would do? Just assumed because Jinn were corrupt beings etc.? They had access to God’s knowledge? Whenever I read it, it never made sense to me and so now your explanation Dr Hany clears it all up, thank you.

Isn’t the same situation that every community goes through? They feel their understanding has been perfected and they are practicing the most purified way, so any new understanding of the scripture is blasphemous.
By Allah’s will, may He open up our hearts so we can encounter His knowledge with its pure understanding.

Salamun Alaykum. This was a paradigm shifting segment for me! Your interpretation of Aya 2:30 makes perfect sense! I cannot believe that I had glibly swallowed a flawed and fanciful interpretation for so long even though I reflected about it many times. You had promised that the new BAYYINAH in this segment will blow our minds and it did just that for me; wow! The clear evidence provided by the Ayat you expounded exposed the locution of the people of Fir3aoun without a shadow of a doubt. (I also noted the little teaser about these people being BANI ISRAEL). Indeed Allah SWT has hidden gems of knowledge in plain sight if only one has the eyes to see them. Thank you and may Allah bless you for teaching us this wonderful new tool to decipher more of what the Quran is really trying to teach us. I am keenly looking forward to the next segment on the story of adam.

alhamdullilah i found your translation is logical. i really dua to Allah that this is the true tafsir, and i will be in selected true believer.

There are some sura/Ayah's explaining creation of universe and objects where saamawaat wal earth used? Your insight regarding this and help will be highly appreciated. Fi amanillah

I appreciate Dr. Hany efforts, and well presented videos, but after viewing more than a handful of his videos, it appears to me that all his efforts are directed towards explaining the Quran metaphorically.. and reveal well hidden meanings, and hidden "bayinat", as if the Quran was only revealed for highly deep thinking, highly philosophical persons and this is not the case. In my opinion, we should take a break, zoom out a bit, and find simplicity in the Quran.

I am a regular flower of you channel. I really appreciate your efforts. May Allah swt gives you hayat and energy to serve the Muslim ummah, enlighten them with the correct interpretation of Holly Quran. Brother I have query regards to the word Samawat and Samaawaat. According to your previous lecture you said samawat means heaven or sky while samaawaat is a Abrahamic locution means understanding. But in this segment 2:28 you said Samawat as understanding, or seven layers of understanding. Pl clarify my doubts. May Allah bless you. Thank.

So it is similar to a numerical series like 1,2,3 next is 1,2,3, ? And like that sometimes mat be 1,? 3, 4, 5,? Is this pattern of understanding is closer to you? I mean, always not the very words, but the momentum of the construction of the sentences will carry the metaphor to catch the intrinsic meaning?

Alikom Salam a nice lecture about the troubles with text and words in the Quran.... Can you please explain [2-33] قَالَ يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ أَنۢبِئۡهُم بِأَسۡمَآئِهِمۡۖ فَلَمَّآ أَنۢبَأَهُم بِأَسۡمَآئِهِمۡ قَالَ أَلَمۡ أَقُل لَّكُمۡ إِنِّيٓ أَعۡلَمُ غَيۡبَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَأَعۡلَمُ مَا تُبۡدُونَ وَمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡتُمُونَ In this verse is really confusing me because first Adam is telling them the "names" and than I think that Allah s.w.t. is telling “ "Have I not told you that I know the invisible in the heavens and in the earth, and that I know what you reveal and what you keep hidden?" what does this verse really mean ??

Do you recall the amazing transformation in meaning for the last 3 words in Aya 2:71, in the Video about "How to Circumcise a she-cow?" --- starting at min. 44:40
Simply by making a small "Tafseel" change to the particle "ma", changing it from a negation particle to a relative pronoun, we had a huge, sudden change in meaning --- as if it appeared from nowhere!!!
Recall that? That is just like magic, isn't it?
There are many other aspects of the Quran that makes it behave like "slight-of-hand magic"
Hopefully, in the future we may get to discuss such aspects

Jazakallahu khair. Good point Dr., but one question.. At 45:40 as you said that the ayah suggests Allah wasn't replying to anyone, but through the scripture to all human-kind. However, there's a word "qola" prior the sentences which supposed to (as i concerned) indicates that the subject was talking/saying to 'specific' person at specific time. Or did i miss something, Dr?

    • @MarvelousQuran
      @MarvelousQuran  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

"Qaala" simply means "He said". No indication of when or how, and no indication that it's in reply to anyone in a specific conversation, etc. As a matter of fact, in accordance with the acceptable "Tafseel", there is no clear indication of the subject of the verb "Qaala". It may refer to the "Khalifah". And in that regard, this last sentence of Aya 2:30 may be indicate that the "Khalifah" is retorting to the "Ba3oodah": I know things that you don't know!
If you take it that way, then that sentence is a summary of the next 3 ayats.

One of the reasons I find many of your videos so long winded and difficult to actually place back into context in the Qur'an around the things you are referring to into as an overview to gain a more rounded perspective is there is too much and you seems to jump around all over the place, I personally can't even keep up with you or what you say next.
If you were to take a copy of the current best english version of a translation, then fix those errors you make reference to.
So that we could read the surahs with these passages fixed, that would be of far more benefit than these utube videos for me.
Which I find at time obscure like ones named "why no pineapples in the Qur'an", which I personally find distracting and obscure and hard to take seriously.
Also the catch frazes you now tend to use when setting up your framework, I find distracting and off putting. Especially when repeated over and over again before actually saying things of value.
Things like saying you are giving us all 7 gifts this time or that.
As if your video is offering extra steak knives along with the truth.
I would actually really like to hear and benefit from what you are attempting to say and make reference to, and actually want to know about these translation differences you are brinfing to light in here,
but I just find it painful watching these long winded videos to get there.
At the end of each video have no way of using them to improve the english translation understanding.
Maybe by setting up in advance so english speakers can have their Qur'an open to each surah and change the actual word out there to fix it.
Then limiting each of these contents to a 5 or 10 minutes.
Then start the next one. Doing
Videos in some order that the wrong interpretations could actually be crossed out And replaced with what you are saying and
    referring to.
Then we could read the better meanings in their right context and their place in the Qur'an to actually gain a better understanding of what you are referring to.
Or better still, just fix a whole English translation of the Qur'an with these things you claim are wrong so we can read it understand it in this new context then accept your views or reject them.
    Thanks

Subhanallahh... The best reply to your comment is what's in the video "Why are only five fruit types mentioned in the Quran? What is Zikr and what do fruits represent?" found here th-cam.com/video/MEvSVYodS8A/w-d-xo.html. It's the one with the thumbnail that says "Why No Mango or Pineapple in the Quran?" :)
Unfortunately, this is the exact video that you found, as you said, "distracting and obscure and hard to take seriously".
A primary concept discussed in that video "about pineapple" is the need for patience.
With all due respect, and with full love and sincerity towards you and everyone who is suffering impatience, I would recommend, my brother, to revisit your intention from watching this channel. On this channel, we are teaching the key concepts that allow you to learn two things:
      1. How to avoid the problems that all available books of tafseer suffer from, including the rushed interpretation
      2. How to apply the concepts of the organic Quranic methodology, coupled with some of the Abrahamic locution terms that we offer as kindling, in order to have the self discipline to have a relationship with Allahh
This channel is NOT to offer you a better understanding or translation of the Quran. As we said in several videos, only Allahh can do that!
This channel is ONLY to encourage you to have a direct relationship with Allahh, using the correct methodology.
Take the time, and watch the above video with patience, and insha Allahh you will benefit a lot. I promise!
If it does not work, take Wuduu, and watch it again!

    Surah Mariam, ayah 8:
He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when my wife has been barren and I have reached extreme old age?"
Isn't Prophet Zakariya asking for clarification or additional information from Allah?

    • @MarvelousQuran
      @MarvelousQuran  3 ปีที่แล้ว

First of all: Thank you for a great question!
Do you really believe that Zakariya was speaking directly to Allahh, as you speak to your friend?
Even if Zakariya was making a duaa (note the beginning of the Aya), for additional knowledge, for Allahh to show him how he would end up with a son, does that prove that the angels questioned Allahh? Or even that he was questioning Allahh?
And finally, see the Aya 3:39: The angels are the ones who gave him the news of a son. Therefore, he was unsure that he received the information correctly FROM THE ANGELS! Remember, Zakariya is NOT an angel.
So... Zakariya was making a duaa to receive more knowledge. Also, Ibrahim asked in a similar way (Duaa) in Aya 2:260, when Ibrahim was asking for more knowledge. This is NOT QUESTIONING, NOR CHALLENGING!
One last side point: The translation you used suffers a serious error for the word "barren", whoch we will deal with later insha Allahh!

The reason I am enthusiastic about getting a copy of your English Translation version of the Holy Quran, is that your questions in this video is exactly what I have been asking myself since last year. ie. if we were always told that the angels have no free will unlike mankind, then why (in Surah Al-Baqarah) did the angels question Allah SWT when Allah SWT said that mankind shall be the khalifah on the earth. I have so far accumulated 6 Arabic-English Translation Versions of the holy Quran (for eg. Sahih International, Pickhall, Hilal Itani, Yusuf Ali, etc) and 2-3 wholly english version of the Holy Quram. But so far all are just different choices of english words of the same meaning. However, your translation (based on “locution”) changes the whole “generally accepted meaning” itself. And why I 100% agree with your findings is because your “correction” translation now makes verses in the holy Quran to make more sense to me. It is no wonder that Allah SWT has guided me to coincidentally come across your video in TH-cam and be fortunate to view these videos of yours. May Allah SWT continue to support and guide you in your efforts and more muslims (especially those whom have the same questions) are made aware of your channel and be put on the “Straight Path” by your findings. Amiin.
