Hello Everyone! Its Tiffany with Thrifting Vegas. I shop at thrift stores, estate sales, garage sales and discount stores for items I can resell for a profit on online platforms like eBay, Poshmark and Offer-Up.

Its opening time on Tuesday morning and I'm on the southwest side of Las Vegas. I have an hour to spare so I decide to pop into the Goodwill at Fort Apache and Flamingo and take you along for a new Thrift With Me video. I'm excited to see their Halloween shelves are going up, the costumes are coming out and they are even starting to restock all the shelves as I walk in. The new color of the week is purple... all purple tags are half off... and I found more than a few amazing things! I had to be a bit careful because some of the prices just didn't work for me as a reseller, but I found more than a few amazing treasures, several of which I paid up for but were quite high end. The prices were absolutely ridiculous. 50 bucks for a bowl? 25 for a pitcher? They aren't an Antique Booth in a Mall! Wow, they have lost their minds 😳
Right?? And the kicker is, it’s all donated items!
The Greedywill! Reminds of the fable goose that laid the golden eggs and she is on the brink of being sliced open to get all!! We have local non profit thrift stores. We have started giving more to them.
I refuse to shop at Greedwill now. They have gotten so ridiculous with their prices & I'd much prefer to give my business to local thrift stores. (The ones where the CEO's aren't raking in a million a year). My Goodwill prices Dollar Tree plastic baskets for $4.99 & up & I could go on, but I know I'm not the only one who deals with these outrageous prices. I am always amazed when I see resellers finding deals in Goodwill. I know there are probably some to be found, but shopping there just makes me angry, so no thank you! xo
Well, honestly, as a collector, I'd rather give goodwill $30 for a piece for my collection than to an eBay reseller who "stole" it from me for $4.99 at goodwill, because they can shop there all day, any day while I'm at work.
I think it's a Management/Corporate business move, you know that keep track of all profit/losses and they price it and compare to their competitors, which is why they get away with pricing they way they do, they know someone will want it
You can go to Ross or Home goods and get items new for the prices Goodwill is charging. It’s sad that single moms or seniors can’t even afford Goodwill. So much for “ goodwill to people “

Wow! Those prices! I thought our local Savers was bad, it’s just crazy what they’re asking for some of this stuff. Such a shame because at those prices it’ll all end up in the bins 😕
Yes, I agree with Melanie, Goodwill has forgotten that everything they sell, they get for free. And sometimes you can tell the items haven’t been cleaned and they are just thrown on the shelves at my goodwill. The shelves in Vegas seem to be a lot more organized. Average people come there for things they need because they can’t afford retail. But no one - even the resellers - can afford their new prices.
They have lost their vision. Sad for everyone, especially the poor. They shot their self in their own foot! I do not shop there. Too greedy.

Me neither! I call them Greedwill. The last time I went into one I got so angry at the prices (a Dollar Tree plastic basket was priced at $5.79), that I walked out & haven't been back.
I'm astounded at the prices at a place where it's all donated. They also keep the best stuff and send it to their for-profit auction site. Really is shady.
Crazy pricing …..takes the fun out of it for those of us just collecting for ourselves on limited budget 🤑
I've boycotted goodwill. I feel sorry for the less fortunate people who used to go there because they couldn't afford going anywhere else.

You know the high prices are sad not only for resellers but for people who depend on Goodwill for their clothing and different things they need. I don't understand why the goodwills have just skyrocketed their prices.
Because they are NOT a charity! They are a FOR PROFIT resell organization.

All one needs to do is look at the Business plan of Goodwill Organization to understand I am NOT overstating the truth about them and the reasons for their RIDICULOUSLY poor pricing practices. Fortunately, there are many TRUE Charities available: Veteran's Thrift, Salvation Army, St. Vincent DePaul, just to name a few.

Its no excuse but they do hire disabled young adults at most places, for sorting etc. Yet their employees also can't afford the prices-- they have a 3 day delay required for open shopping but still would shop there. They have lost balance.
Goodwill has lost its mind!!!

OMGOODNESS I don’t THINK I WOULD HAVE HAD THE PATIENCE you had going through all of those ridiculously priced, used and average items, to find the rare & fairly priced treasures that you eventually came upon. You have the patience of Job.
The art glass piece you discovered is an absolute treasure. I would love to have that sitting on my window sill and wake up to those colors each morning. So beautiful! I’d be interested in knowing what you are going to ask for that piece. I think I have to have it; it moves me. Please let me know once you decide what you want for it.

WOW!! Sticker shock at Goodwill! Considering they get everything for free, it seems rich that they think 50 dollars for a bowl, and even 10 dollars for that clay sun is affordable to Goodwill shoppers. Or are they catching on to re-sellers and e-Bay checking for prices. $ 25.00 for that glass pitcher, and a whopping 30.00 for that green planter is also over the top. Low income people will never pay such prices. Sad, because the landfill will get most of those overpriced items. 😪

That glass hummingbird feeder becomes toxic because the sugar content makes mold grow inside it, and there is no way of taking it apart to clean it.

I think that resale/goodwill/thrift shop is under the impression it's a vintage and antique dealer! Insane prices and it's sad. That stuff is donated to them and they're cutting out the avg and/or needy person with those prices. Disgusting

The prices are going up everywhere I see even in Goodwill. I am shocked by how much, they need to be careful, not to go too high because we all are feeling it. I loved the beautiful humming bird feeder and the vase beautiful. I also loved some of the other vases but they were too high.

I used to go thrifting frequently when I was younger. I furnished our home and we dressed ourselves with our finds. Then an accident left me unable to walk or use my hands. I love shopping with you Tiffany. My husband and I have gone thrifting twice now for date nights. We found some good planters and I found an old hand tooled leather wallet from Egypt. Probably was a souvenir from the 40s or 50s. Thanks again.
I’m sorry to hear about your accident and the disabilities you incurred. That’s awful. But you managed to go shopping on date night, that means you are making the very best of a bad situation. I pray God will bless you beyond measure in Jesus name.
@@kw2756 Thank you. My accident happened over 20 yrs ago. But I went thru some depression that was worse! Our Lord has a plan for us, so I just stopped complaining and do my best to carry on. Plus, we can do all things thru Christ who gives us strength. Amen

Our goodwill here in Central Indiana have done away with sale colors 😫 Now nothing is ever on sale and their prices are obnoxious! Like your vids tho !!!

Mind blowing concerning the prices! Seems like they are catering to a higher class of people. You still managed to find some lovely pieces. The heart lid tiered jewelry/trinket box is made from maple burl. Used to make clocks out of maple burl. Beautiful wood. I do so enjoy your shop alongs.
Whilst the prices at this store were unlike the prices at the store you frequently go to, you were still able to find some very lovely pieces.
I loved that Glass Christmas tree debate. I know you collet them & happy you found a large one, thought you might put it back, I'm talking to the screen No don't put it back on the shelf, & you teased me ! :~) Ps. I know times are changing , but they have really jumped up their prices.
I really think the prices are high because of the resellers. There are a lot of them out there and they buy a lot of the good stuff cheap and sell at a high price. I on the other hand am a collector and do not mind paying the price. It is for ME.

Whoever is pricing those donated goods must be sniffing glue! People please find Salvation Army thrift stores to donate ur belongings. We have “Value Village”, in Canada and it’s all profit for the owners. I still search out Salvation Army!🌺🇨🇦🌺

Some animal shelters in my area welcome used towels and blankets, even rags. Maybe you could hit up the linen section first and put a few cheap blankets in your cart that you donate later.

Like everyone else has commented, Goodwill (I now call them Greedwill) has gotten completely out of control with their prices. The Goodwill in this video is priced just like my local ones & I refuse to shop there anymore, or donate to them, just on principle alone. You are a much better sport than I am, Tiffany, as far as not getting angry at the prices & walking out. I'm glad you were able to find a couple good things, however, to make up for your time. I won't be going back. I'd rather give my business to local thrift stores where the CEOs don't rake in a million dollars a year!

And yes, the prices at that particular store are outrageous! But the pieces I've received the most from on eBay have been purchased in that store. I found a crystal/silver plate wine decanter for $10 and ended up selling it for $500. So I pop in that store once in awhile. You never know what you're going to find. But you'll pay through the nose for it!

Hi Tiffany! 😻 I wouldn’t be able to buy much at Flamingo GW because, alas, I have a personal $5-6 limit for each item I buy for resell. You found some great treasures though! Love the butterfly bottle! You’re absolutely right about keeping an open mind when thrifting. I like being surprised by a find I didn’t expect! Scratches on Ziggy and the Bandit ❤️!
Just wondering if your art glass oil lamp might not be a perfume bottle missing its lid with dauber. The opening looked like it had been ground inside. It would be really pretty with a tall, graceful lid. But then again, ii think you’d expect a raised rim at the least for a perfume?
ETA: Just went and had a look and there are quite a few sommerso perfume bottles that are made this way - no lip or neck at the top, the dauber just goes down in. I’m really convinced that’s what you have.
That’s what I thought too, once I saw the ground inside of the opening. Would an oil lamp have a ground neck/opening like that? 🤷♀️

Those prices are crazy. I thought my goodwill was bad. In example, $1.99 for an old unwrapped 4” candle, $1.99 for a new in wrapper votive candle.
It was a hard call, but my fav piece was the sunrise vase. Reminded me of Albuquerque-our house was in the foothills of the Sandias. I could watch sun and moon rise over the mountains. Aha! Supervisor Bandit tanning the tummy instead of working! Well, cant say much-have one here, too! Thanks, Tiffany! Pats for all the critters! 😊

They have prices like the ones in my local Goodwill. That's why I don't shop there. I thought that hummingbird feeder was a pipe. 😆 🤣I saw that Papa Bear mug and thought you had one that was Mama Bear. You could make yourself a set.

Those prices! Donated= free products. No sourcing etc Australia can be just as bad. Makes me less inclined to buy as I think it's rude and greedy. Especially when retail store prices are equivalent. I do still shop in secondhand shops but am very picky. I'm there for a bargain not to be robbed.
Aussie stores are all shockingly overpriced. I myself have a solution to the problem.....

That Goodwill has lost its mind with that type of pricing. Not only will re-sellers like you not pay those prices, neither will regular thrifters like me who truly enjoy the hunt of finding good buys on things to use in my home or to wear. But it does occur to me that maybe they're beginning to price this way in order to attract more casual thrifters who aren't looking for a profit margin? Just a thought as to why...
Bear sounded the alarm! My dogs were sure there was a dog at our door. Very funny. And my dogs bark at tv doorbells rushing to the door and we do not have a doorbell 😄

I liked the pitcher w the sunflower. I lucked out w a Jim Shore ornament this week for a dollar. Glad you got the dog bookends and the big clear tree!
