This brought a tear to my eye and a scene in the PV just reminded me of Babel, which is the story of how Amiya and Doctor met alone with a sad spoiler. :(
The build up in pv is very emotional for Arknight player, we go from witness the hardship of life, the cruel of world upon poor souls, we think of making it better by everything we got, but nothing work beside violence, we fight against the enemies to only lead we to realize had became one of them, doubt ourselves what is justice? Is it the right path? In the abyss of grief, regret, we found sympathy, a will to fight. Then walk out of our delusion of peaceful world, we accept that can't save everything, everyone, the world by our strength. But in that cruel reality, we became a bridge connect people together, we complement each other instead of fighting alone. We - Rhodes Island, stand together, and step by step make the world better.
first thank you bylov for this service. then for mr. grim the word arknights is from knights of the ark. ark as in noahs ark who brought hope for the future generation and ark where in the game, our base is a land ship called rhodes island. from island of rhodes where the knights hospitaller are based which is a medical group who later militarized and arknights in chinese is ship of tomorrow. so the lines in the song "i'm on your ark, answer me my sinking ship. where's our tomorrow? does our hope have to be sown upon somebody's sorrow" hits wayyy harder if you know the meaning of the title arknights as well as the story the game has shown.
Yeah the lyrics of this song is just so good. In general context, it's how growing up isnt really a paradise as we used to imagine when we were kids. Things are not as simple as back then. And for the Arknights context, the lyrics is pretty much about Amiya (the main protagonist). She was about 14 yo when the story started and at that time she was already a leader of an organization (and kinda like a king of a certain race). Had to face wars, battlefield, death of foes and enemies, and all the responsibilites as the leader in a very young age. And even with all of those, Amiya still choose to keep marching forward and keep walking on this path, which is why the marching ending of the song.
This was a great PV. The scenes of Amiya running forward are a theme that pervades a lot of Arknights, and in this case especially calls back to the Come to Light PV song by Jeff Williams and Casey Lee Williams.

They made this "fictional" world feel so real and personal that every frame, every line delivers such a heavy blow that it is impossible to keep emotions in check.
