The gear I love using for flathead include
Today's lures and combos:
4' Holt Productions SwimPrawn
Rod and Reel combo: 270M Shimano Zodias and 3000 Shimano Vanford with 6lb braid and 12lb leader.
My Lure Box Soft Glide
Rod and Reel Combo: 3000 Shimano BB Essence and 832 BB Hard Rocker with 10lb braid and 20lb leader.

biggest flathead board goes to show even with that many competent anglers on the water a fish over 90 is hard-earned!
@@matthewmorshead2594 Caught 4 over 80cm in the past 2 weeks 2 of those were over 90cm!...usually hit 50 over 80cm each season but that's sept - the end of April and a shit tonne of casts!...my best year was just after the fires I hit 82 over 80cm that season but that year was a special year with all the good lakes closed and black ash filled water pushing whole systems to the front of the lakes.....vast majority of all those fish were low 80s with 14 of those over 90cm....I fish a lot BTW....every chance I get and catch 1000s of flathead every season....I can confidently say fish over 90cm are rare no matter what the situation is on the water and a metery is almost a myth....I only fish waist deep or less though and strictly lures....we have some flathead jewels down here on the south coast NSW and even the best of our lakes, Tuross Lake, is tough for fish over 90cm lots of 80s....In all my years targeting flathead I've seen only one lay over a meter and it measured 135cm!....in a foot of water to...low 80s are the most common size for a croc from my experience....I was surprised to see flatty classic leader board had nothing over 95cm especially with all the competent anglers thrashing every nook n cranny.
