My Mother's people are from Roumania and she made mumaliga (don't know if the spelling's right, but who cares?? 🥰). She always used a wide soup plate, just like yours!! It's just cornmeal mush. Poured in that plate, spread some farmer cheese (kind of a dry cottage cheese), and sour cream on top. This plain (and FILLING!!) dish brings me way back to my childhood. Mmmmm . . . Thank you for all your family dishes. I know some (like oxtail, red bean soup, and boiled dumplings) and now I look forward to either making the other dishes I see (and drool over!! 😍) or go to a Jamaican restaurant and decide if they do it as good as yours!! One last thing: these videos are a wonderful history for your children, their children and their children's children. To always know you. What a blessing for your family. 🖖💕

We make something like this in Puerto Rico. We call it mazamorra. We boil corn with the cob. Blend the corn and strain it into milk, coconut milk, coconut cream, cornstarch, sugar, butter, ginger and spices. Then we cook again. Some people add raisins.
