Amazing how this game was never mentioned back in the days, but imo this was one of the best shoot em ups ever on any sega console, an absolute gem you could play for hours on end, not easy though on later levels
In arcade version, Chelnov was shot to death by the US Army gunship in the end of the game. But in Sega Genesis, he was chased by remnant of the alien but he still manage to stay alive and return to the Soviet Russia.

Spent a lot of money on this in the arcade. Could never finish it. Years later bought a genesis just to get this game, finally finished it. But I feel like there was a glitch on the state of liberty, on the Genesis version you could fall off of it in the middle. Then years after that I got it as a rom to play on my psp and it plays very well.
This was an interesting game but not an easy one. The controls are not what you expect - the screen never stops scrolling and Chelnov can't actually go backwards while he's facing right; holding left will just make him stand still. It takes more getting used to than one might realize.

No - just whatever slowdown the game would normally experience. The video recorder is part of the emulator, so it buffers the frame until it can commit to disk; if I'd been using external capture software then it probably would be prone to issues 🙂
Look at 4:54. You can see the game starts to stutter at that part but the same exact stutter happens in other parts of the video, in certain time intervals. Looks like a desync issue of some sort. I don't remember this happening on the real Mega Drive or an emulator that properly syncs with the screen. Maybe i'm wrong though but this kind of desync is pretty common.

The best thing about this game is that the only strategy is to shoot the enemies while avoiding getting hit by them.
