  • Hot off their hit "Dance and Shake Your Tambourine" from the year before, the Universal Robot Band pull off one of the catchier disco Christmas songs out there.
The origin of the song is actually a demo by Ronnie D'Addario called "Yesterday's News," which was never released at the time but is now available as a bonus track on his 70s solo album. Ronnie is perhaps more famous today as the father of the two brothers who front current-day rock band the Lemon Twigs. That band's sound is not that far from the albums their dad made back in the 70s - catchy soft rock with great harmony arrangements.
With a goofy lyrical rewrite from co-producer Ed Fox, Ronnie's song was ready for Christmas, but it was ready for disco? Enter Red Greg label owner and co-producer Greg Carmichael, who produced "Dance and Shake Your Tambourine" as well as several other minor disco hits, and now we're ready to hustle around the tree and down to jingalingaling - it's Disco Christmas!
