    Thanks, I opened my brother's noisy airpump because he was already planning to throw it away anyways and he already bought a new one for his aquarium, didn't find anything wrong with it in my initial inspection. I looked up online to see what might be the problem, saw your video, tried increasing the clearance of the electromagnet creating the oscillations for the bellow as you suggested, it's now a lot quieter now! got rid of the annoying rattling noise! Now he has a spare air pump!

    I've had one running for a few years, suddenly got loud.
    Found the little rubber hinge that the arm is attached to had become deformed where the arm rested on it, making the arm far more loose than it should be.
    Pulled arm out, rotated the little rubber sleeve, put it back in, and now it's quiet again.
    Thanks for this video, it wasn't my exact problem but it gave me the confidence to poke around in there.

      Thank you! I saw this video, but mine was not hitting the metal, came here looking for additional advice in the comments and your comment helped me! I realized the handle was loose where it's attached, had a bit of a crack there in the plastic, so I put some superglue on it and it fixed the buzz (for now haha) :) Thanks so much!

    Quick tip,
    -Get the pumping arm and rubber caps try to change the angle of the arm
    -Try add tissue paper to reduce any minor movements due to vibration. Place it to the thing that holds the arm that is surrounded by rubber try touching parts that dangle or move fix it
    -Try to hang the pump mid-air so it doesn't vibrate to any surface.
    It solved the 100% issue in mine
    Sounds like brand new now and doesn't annoy me

  • @3volk715
    @3volk715 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thanks for the tips! Mine needed adjusted because one of the magnets was hitting the large white piece. I also slightly loosened the nut holding the arm to the diaphragm and that seemed to help get that magnet back fat enough to stop the contact.
    That said I'll probably won't be buying one of these again. There's nothing worse than spending money on something that's only a hobby and the items coming in damaged.

    That screwdriver you were using can be used as a 1/4" and 5/16" nut driver, "wrench", for nuts and hex head screws. Pluck out the double sided bit and see if it fits whatever nut\screw you run across. Good for many duct screws, AC condenser fan shroud, household electrical.

    Could probably use some folded over paper or a thin piece of plastic cut from some random packaging or disposable bottle as a feeler gage to set the gap. Seems like a stupidly easy fix. I wonder if the misalignment was a QA issue or if those things got dropped hard in shipping at some point?
