So glad to have found your channel. I'm a stay at home Mum from Cairns Queensland in Australia and my daughter and I love seeing your part of the world and the adventures you go on. Thank you 😊
I’ve gone back and watched over 10 videos. You sir just added another item to my bucket list, spend a week or two and camp in Scotland. Thank you sir and hoping for 100k and beyond!!
Hi there. If you know somewhere safe or someone you can go with, have a try. Let someone know where you will be. Stay local then if it a little too much for you, you can always pack up and try again another time. Try be as comfortable as possible.. Avoid woodland... Too many noises... 😳. Been watching you for over a year now, Jim. I am delighted for you. Your films are informative, entertaining and beautifully shot. I have learned some tips from you for my wild walks and camps in my retirement years. You always inspire me to keep walking the hills, which I do most days. Thank you.
My main stomping ground is the Pentland Hills where I walk most days. I also have come to appreciate the Southern Uplands and the Border hills. Dumfries and Galloway is also a delight for walkers. Many a night spent at my secret places in the Pentlands. All the best, Jim.
@@BoredManOutdoors Hello. Thanks for asking. I did the standard, from Drymen to Poitlochy but with a detour to Comrie and then back crossing the Highlands to Loch Tay and the official route. Nice one Jim - looked like a nice circuit - I have never visited the Birks but will need to go for a daunder after seeing g those fine waterfalls - looked nice . Recognised the lochs. And fishing hut though - a wonderful spot 👌👍 take care and looking forward to the next one - M
Hi Murray, thank you. I think the Birks would be perfect for Family Murray to daunder on a sunny Sunday morning. I hope you're recovering from the MF.... Cheers 😎😎🤧
For the benefit of those so interested, here is a selection of little snippets of local information relevant to parts of this walk. 1) Crossing the bridge in Killin - the famous Dochart Falls are to the left, the burial ground of Clan McNab on an island to the right. 2) Driving along Loch Tay - how long is it (15 miles) and how deep (about 500 feet). 3) Walking out of Aberfeldy - climbing the Birks O' Aberfeldy, made famous in a poem by Robert Burns, whose bronze effigies appear throughout. The Moness Burn tumbles down the gorge. 4) Looking down on "Kenmore" - actually, it was Taymouth Castle that was in the shot. Interesting history between the Earl of Breadlbane, who built it, and Queen Victoria who stayed there on her honeymoon. The White Tower - was also once part of the Castle. 5) The hillside walk from Aberfeldy goes through the Bolfracks estate and looked down the Tay valley at the village of Dull - paired with Boring, Oregon. 6) Ben Lawers - it's the highest peak in Perthshire, tenth highest in Scotland - it's 1214 metres which makes it rather bigger that the tallest one in England. 7) Looking down at the Ben, you can see one of the most iconic peaks in Scotland - Schiehallion - which is easily visible to the right. Just not its iconic conical shape which you can really only see from Loch Rannoch. Also visible are the mountains at the entrance to Glen Lyon and you can see all the way to the Grampians in the East. For anyone else thinking of coming to Breadalbane, there are many other places to explore on foot. It's just a shame that the one that offers probably the most panoramic and spectacular views was not explained a little better.
Thank you so very much for your lovely message, I really appreciate the time you have taken to share your opinions and knowledge - Brilliant. Oak aye the now, how Yew doing Jim. Nice to see you branching out from your old root-ine and exploring a different neck of the woods. You’re normally Rowan around Elm hills, Bays and Beeches which is good exercise as you always lose a bit of timber. And what else wood you be doing on your day off,but a hike like this is nae bother to an Evergreen Elder-y gent like yourself. I thought you might have had some twiglets with some Hazel and Almond nuts drizzled with some Maple syrup to go with your Cherry Redwood wine. Have you ever tried that Blackthorn Cedar? I hope you didn’t do any of that trunk texting to Mrs Boreman or did you just give her a ring ?I bet she was Pin-ing for you. Did you ever get to the root of the problem with your phone signal? This may sound Acorn-y and I might be barking up the wrong tree but maybe your phone is Sycamore,is it not one of those old tree-Rex models? As for me I’ve had the Fir and it felled me ,ma nose has been weeping like a Willow it stumped me for days. Anyways I’ve taken enough sap here and I’m gonna leaf it out now as I’m going for-est. Ash-da La via da for now. 😂😂😂

I hope one day I will be able to go camping like you, see all those amazing sceneries and landscapes!
Thank you for this video❤
Keep going!
🤞 I hope you get to try it sometime soon.. thank you 🙂
