This episode was so AWKWARD HELP. The Tina and Blaine stuff (adore them sooo much as friends, but Tina, girl, please...), the Finn and Emma....
WHY.
Darren really did have a 102 degree temp when he performed "Don't Stop Me Now". They talked about sending him home and cutting the scene but Darren was so excited to sing that song he convinced producers to at least let him try it once. That was the once. Although, it was pretty stupid of them to let Darren touch practically every member of the cast in the room. Hadn't thought of that until now.
I’ve heard loads of people talk about how Darren was actually sick during this episode hence the whole Blaine having a cold storyline. But I’ve never seen anything of them talking about it anywhere, do you have any sources where they talk about it?
Santana Slayed. She gave Sass, looked incredibly Sexy, and was the Star of Diva week.
-The outfits this episode were crazy
-The other performances were dope. Blaine gave it his all and killed Queens "Don't Stop Me Now" and Tina's version of Madonnas "Hung Up" was like the "Bust Your Windows" in season 1.
-It's crazy how there were so many references to earlier seasons.

according to " Previously Un aired Christmas" which takes place between Swan Song and Diva probably around the same time as Glee, Actually Rachel invites Santana to live with them when Santana visits Kurt and Rachel for Christmas. So it's not random when she moves in.
Man, I had forgotten that Nutbush City Limits, Make No Mistake, and Girl on Fire were all in the same episode 🔥

Yes Tina’s storyline was bad. But I appreciate giving the spotlight back to Tina. Glee was originally supposed to be about a group of misfits and this is where S4 fundamentally went wrong. Blaine, Sam and the new S4 cast ( aside from Unique) are all super good lookingand I doubt they would ever be treated badly in high school.

Santana is such a powerhouse. Honestly she's on par with Mercedes and Rachel alot of the time. Especially considering she was initially supposed to be an occasional character
yeah honestly I wished they would have focused on the new york stuff. This always felt like not getting enough of either.

Ps 2 : I seriously hated Rachel in this episode.
Please only Kurt had a problem with Rachel, no one else in school seemed bothered by her. All Kurt had to do was nicely communicate with her about his concerns, instead he attacked and put her on the defensive. He was wrong to challenge her to something that could cause her to be shunned. Tired of Kurt getting a pass if Rachel did that, people would never let it go.

I hated the thing with Finn kissing Emma because it’s a messed up thing to do with someone who’s not only older than you and engaged to your teacher/ mentor/ friend but also to someone who was already in an extremely vulnerable position and I don’t understand why the writers even went in that direction in the first place.
I also agree that the whole Tina being in love with Blaine storyline is messed up because it does a huge disservice to Tina’s character because in every season before this she was never the kind of person who would intentionally mess with someone’s relationship especially knowing what she knows about Blaine and Kurt and that whole storyline made her into the complete opposite which is messed up, and again I don’t know what the writers were trying to do with that plot.
Thats why i hate rachel. She cant just feel happy for others. Like.. you lost.. to your friend.. be happy. Move on.. why do everyone have to feel terrible to make her feel better ugh
I was thinking the exact same thing. It irritates my soul so much that she can't never just be happy and want good things for others, but ALWAYS expects others to give up what they want/love for her sake and to be sad when she's sad.
Lol, what? We could say the same about Kurt, he couldn’t leave Rachel be happy and enjoy her popular moment at NYADA, nooo, he had to challenge her because he just couldn’t talk to her nicely. Like you said, he could just move on
I just love it when Kurt sings songs from musicals. His voice is perfect for that. Also, I'm mad that Rachel had the final high note again, I think they should have given it to Kurt. Especially if they show that he won against her. Personally, I like his performance of Bring him home more, probably because i think he put more soul into it, while Rachel invested more technically.
P.S. Sorry, Marley, but you're not a diva.
Agreed, I was so pissed they gave it to her if he was going to win, Kurt was robbed
1. please real from fiction Lea is not Rachel and Rachel is not Lea. They all had similarities to their characters but they are NOT their characters. 2. Kurt seemed to be the only one upset with Rachel, so it was rude to challenge her knowing it could hurt her status at school. 3. Rachel is just better, she was better here and better on DF. 4. Kurt's challenge also messed with her head, since she wasn't to be that bad. He could just communicate clearly and nicely to her. 5. This shows why Tina didn't get more, she is not a very good actress. 6. No way Rachel would have approved Santana moving in she was her bully for years.
Wow... This has so many bad takes...
1, the show was literally written for Lea and Rachel IS Lea. The character was written for and about Lea specifically, in no uncertain terms.
2, Rachel being a diva in school is one thing, but living with her being a diva is a completely different monster. Kurt has a right to be exacerbated about it. And to vent his frustrations to her. Sometimes, all you get with honey is sticky hands.
3, it's subjective. They both performed admirably and your preference is your own. Nobody is required to agree.
4, Rachel has a tailspin if she loses at ANYTHING. That's her personality and a recurring theme. It's not Kurt messing with her head, it's her being unable to accept a defeat without flouncing.
5, You sit here and tell us to not confuse the actors with their characters and then say TINA isn't a good actress. TINA isn't an actress. JENNA is, and she's a Tony winning Broadway actress.
6, pretty much the only thing you got at least halfway correct.

I disagree about Jenna, she's a fantastic actress and brilliant as Tina imo. But I agree about the rest of this. I swear most people just don't understand Rachel. I'm a huge Rachel fan and defender and I always will be. I'm glad someone else likes her. 😊
@@SL.D 1. Ryan only said he had Lea in mind, not that the show was written for her. And no, a character having a few similarities as the actor is not one and the same. 2. Yes Kurt had the right to communicate with Rachel about her behavior at home, but he was the one who brought the school in to it. There was no reason to challenger her to the Midnight madness for issues at home. 3. She is better and that is fine he is great too. Even Chris knew he talked having to go up against her. 4. In this instant her unjustly challenged her school status so yeah that mess with her much like when he messed with because he had a crush on Finn. 5. Excuse me I know you understood I meant Jenna and Jenna is not a very good actress, and her Tonys are for giving some money to the productions NOT for her acting. 6. @@andym2801 1, what the heck do you think 'in mind' means? If Lea wouldn't do Glee as Rachel, the show would not have been greenlit. Period. That's open knowledge. He wrote it for her and about her. Rachel was who the entire story was about.
2, Lea straight up told Kurt the only reason he got into Nyada was because of her. Not because of his own talent. She brought the school AND his place there into the argument because she was being a self indulgent, entitled brat and he was done catering to her. It's almost like you skipped over things that didn't bolster your rhetoric.

4, no, it was not unjustly challenged. He did throw their last diva-off. She was acting insanely entitled called his own talent into question and he challenged her little spot at the top. He did it to humble her back down and it worked. For a while. She isn't the best all the time and he taught her that lesson quite effectively. It wasn't to mess with her head before her audition. She flounced after not winning like she always does because she expects to win everything.

@@SL.D 1. It means when he wrote the character Rachel, he thought about a theater girl he had meant once or twice. He was thinking about doing glee before he met Lea she was the inspiration for the character not the show. 2. Rachel not Lea was right, he did get another chance because of her, and she helped him by calming him down and helping choose a song. And again it did need to escalate if he communicated to her calmly instead of being passive-aggressive. 3. Again, even Chris knew. 4. You are ignoring that the other students didn't seem to care she sang at school, so YES it was wrong to bring his grievances to school. Of course, she was upset her best friend who she even stood up for was airing their dirty laundry in public and didn't care who that would affect her. 5. I didn't denigrate the Tony awards, I just made a true statement it was for contributing money as a producer not acting.
Rachel was so self centered in this episode. Instead of congratulating Kurt she just felt sorry for herself cause she didn’t win ONE thing.
