I've been playing cb for my highschool team for 5 years now. No experienced defender will chase him in that situation. Instead positioning urself to block the pass will be way easier. It's useless if u r facing a somewhat experienced defender. That's why u'll never see this in higher lvl football. Might work on Sunday league though.
Even in the other 2 scenarios if the full back comes down to press and defender keeps his position on the defending line should be pretty easy to win the ball.

Point being: it’s drillable. Goal-creation chances from free kicks and corner kicks can be further leveraged instead of just kicking it into the mixer and hoping for the best.
Not related to offence, but to defence. We had a guy from US in our school. Never played football, but he wanted to try it out. He had no basic technique, so at first some of the others were gonna put him in keeper. I watch a bit of American football, so I wanted to see how he'd do in defence, considering he played DB. I explained the rules and told him to mark a winger, who mind you played in Watford's academy so he's no slouch. Long story short, he marked him off the game. He legit couldn't shake him off or get open. That made me realize a lot of American football fundamentals work in football.

What they’re not telling you, is you’re creating space, for the guy who has the ball. If he has more space to make the pass, then the pass has more of a chance to find its target path.
In number 2 the first thing can be done and work if you have good touch control and can switch gears to sprint when touching the ball pretty fast i say this because i do this sometimes playing football
