  • First reasonably good weather day with almost zero wind. That's why decided to take lightest and smallest I have. Only 0.2g weight. Was difficult with 0.25PE line, was taking far too long to bring my lure to the bottom. Need to buy 0.1 or 0.13 PE, then everything will be faster and casting will be better too. Still managed to catch big numbers but not sizes of perch. No silver fish, will have to improve on that later in warmer times.
    Gear:
    Rod: Ovidijus Putna Custom Rod 172cm, 0.2-1g
    Reel: KastKing Kestrel 1000
    Braid line: YGK X-braid Upgrade x4 #0.25
    Leader: Drennan Supplex Fluorocarbon 0.095mm, 1.3lb, 0.59kg
    Hook: size 16 fly hook
    0.2g tungsten slotted weight threaded on hook and glued
    Lures:
    Silicon blood worm

    Try some "ester" main line, about pe0.3. That should help you get down a bit faster and give you almost the same non stretch properties of braided line.

      I just ordered new line 0.06pe. But if I'm not gonna be happy with it, I'll give a try. Thanks for advice 😁🤝🎣

    Ester line is the key, 34 pinky or Aji no ito 1.2lbs is the sweet spot here.

      Thanks mate 😁🤝🎣 That is one of my thoughts for this summer, to catch at least few brown trout on xul and micro silicone lures. Should be a lot of fun 😁 All the best to you as well 🤝🎣

    Is that the Kastking Kestral reel you are using and if it is how do you find it?

    • @ManAndRod
      @ManAndRod  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, it is Kastking Kestrel. Wouldn't compare with expensive reels but in my opinion very good for the price. Will see how it holds after year 😅 Reason i bought it is because of it's weight. Daiwa similar weight reel would be 400, this one I paid under 50£. And i am impressed how god is line management, had only one or two wind knots which is impressive for that cheap reel

      If something will go wrong, I'll show on video. Very interesting how long that cheap and light reel can go before failing 🤔 😀
