You could argue that Ronaldo's commitment to the dressing room code is admirable. He didn't criticise any of his teammates by name, including Ole, except Neville and Rooney for criticising him. Personally, I can't imagine picking up someone's kids then telling the world their father shouldn't have been hired by his employers, but that's for Rooney's conscience to grapple with. And Gary Neville refused to be objective about Ole, but was quick to scrutinise Ronaldo. In terms of honour in the dressing room, Ronaldo definitely comes out on top of Neville and Rooney. It may not be what fans want to hear, but publically criticising your ex-teammates doesn't become right just because you get paid.
That makes no sense. Neville and Rooney are legends as well. And when someone is respecting a club they love they have to speak up when asked. You’re trying to be sentimental by bringing up his kids and carrying them. What does that have to do with him walking off and disrespecting his teammates but he can’t get criticised by his ex teammates but he can disrespect his current ones and his coach. Like make it make sense. This was a rubbish comment

Rooney and Neville criticised him (don't forget Ronaldo was all cool with Neville before that, with that handshake with Neville but blanked Jamie Carragher incident at Old Trafford), comparing them to Keane who constantly praises and backs him.
Ten Hag benched him and made him a squad player as compared to Ole who starts him every game.

ETH refusing to bring him during the City loss vs asking him to come on at the end of the Spurs win is not a contradiction at all. One game was a humiliation in which a sub would have not changed the outcome and the other a victory. So out of respect he doesn't ask him to come on as a loser but does ask him to come on as a professional sub to buy time at the end of a victory. Literally not the same thing.

I found it very insightful, I am the same age as Ronaldo and have watched his whole career. Of course I didn’t like the Ten Hag comments, the timing, the fact it was Piers, however I agree with Mark that a lot of elements of this interview were fascinating. The man lost a child 6 months ago, he is human, you can’t expect him to be a machine. Parts of it were touching, he will always be a legend to me.

To be honest Pep was like that with KDB...they had massive arguments but basically Pep had to give him the freedom and authority he wants and this is not even a very egoistic player we are talking about here...he is a very soft spoken guy...I think there is a lapse in judgment by PPL at United, difficult circumstances in Ronaldo's life on top of that which made this reach to this point ‼️

It's worth giving giving De Bruyne a bit of leeway because he's been one of the top midfielders in the Premier League for years. Ronaldo has fallen off quite severely, he's not a player that will score a shitload of goals anymore and isn't willing to accept that he's not going to start every game. So he has to go.

The relationship between Ronaldo and ETH went downhill due to lack of communication between the player and the club/coach. If both had sat down and explained each other's view honestly then the issue of disrespect won't likely exist. Ronaldo is still the GOAT and ETH is still an excellent coach who is doing an amazing job at building the team. Let's not read too much about the word "disrespect". Ronaldo was being led by Piers M. to use the term disrespect during the interview and Ronaldo just went with it probably because English is not his first language. If Piers has lead the interview and said that the problem occured mainly due to lack of communication instead of pushing the matter due to disrespect, then most likely Ronaldo would have went with it as well. Overall I felt Ronaldo has been manipulated by Piers for sensational highlights. Nevertheless, it was good to hear from Ronaldo for a change after being slated by the Media for all this while.
The idea of miscommunication is a speculation rather than facts. We only heard one side of the story. Looking at how CR7’s transfer to city was debunked by City itself. Let’s not take things at face value

I think it is difficult for ETH to intergrate Ronaldo in a team that has been disfunctional for many years. In the midst of ETH addressing all of this he now has Ronaldo to deal with as well. I do believe that communication was the main issue. In the larger scheme of things, the Glazers and the people in charge of the football club is to be blamed. I don't understand how Mark backs Ronaldo. He agrees that he has been disrepected but in his own preview shows this season he often didn't put ronaldo in the starting line up.

The problems United have, do not lay with Ronaldo but from the people in charge, the terrible negotiators, the gross overpaying for average players, the extortionate ticket prices and the poor commitment to long term strategy with Managers, the lack of investment into the grounds, stadium, etc, the attempt to sell of the club to off branch Super Leagues, so on. In the 8 years since SAF left, £1.5 Billion on Players, over £60 million on Managers, all relative failures for the club. Aside from maybe Ibrahimovich.
Ronaldo is not the issue and this Interview is a breath of fresh air. Its nice to hear a footballer with brains and not a head full of sawdust like most players that are make believe inspirational people.

It's clear that Ronaldo didn't communicate his frustrations to Ten Hag with words, only with actions. He said a lot of stuff that needed to be said, but the Ten Hag bit I feel like he should've spoken with Ten Hag about how he felt.

I'm really happy Ronaldo is finally going - I can't wait and I'm 100% backing Ten Hag which Mark also said until today giving some lame reason that Ronaldo has been disrespected so now he's on nobody's side. I see it the other way around - Ronaldo clearly didn't respect Ten Hag and the latter just showed who is the boss which has been missing at United since Mourinho. But the way Mourinho did it in public throwing players under the bus nobody could respect and Ten Hag is just doing it the right way. Now Ten Hag can finally do his rebuild of the team properly without all the unwanted distraction Ronaldo brings and I can't wait for the next United matches with hopefully Garnacho starting.
