      I get the feeling that when these 2 play a non-competitive match, they both stray from what is "solid chess and known theory" and delve into "this might be some interesting chess" or "I think this might work..." rather frequently.

      Where is the joke in saying a completely lost position would be stalemate? He overlooked that his opponent had a rook, it was a mistake, not a joke and there is something wrong with you if you don't see that. Get help.

      If the rook takes, yes. But the king could take as well. You may play nf2 first, and if he doesn't sacrifice his rook and plays Kg1 u have nh3 double check, followed up by ur plan.

      @@leunamk.4495 Yes but after he sacs the rook, he can take the bishop on D7 for free. So it doesn't really work. That's why Ne5 was so good and resourceful by levy. Nf2+ Rxf2 Qxf2 Nxd7+
