Well I think they are amazing but the best album I ever heard was Stevie Ray Vaughan and double trouble. They made amazing albums. It’s glad to see double trouble playing again. I will always support them. Pretty good music. I don’t think anyone can replace Stevie Ray Vaughan on guitar ever. To me he was the greatest guitar player I’ve ever seen. Everyone talks Jimi Hendrix but Stevie Ray Vaughan had a certain passion and the way he played nobody played like him. Rest in peace Stevie Ray God bless your family
My doctor told me today that "I'm in good shape for the shape I'm in". Rumor has it Burton Cummings (former lead singer of The Guess Who) has included this on his new album. Released near the end of Sept. '24.
Wonder if he wore it at any of the live concerts back then,or just for the video. Quiet a few videos on the arc angels channel and another on here wearing them 1 piece Purple outfits, not sure custom stuff or 2nd hand shop bought,?.
Dig the song. Bramhall's got some good vocals. Being surrounded by a bunch of other great Texas musicians certainly doesn't hurt either. The cd is loaded with good tunes. Even though they look happy in the video, Layton and Shannon were probably still not over the shock of Stevie Ray leaving us. It was only a year before this.
Saw them in Kitchener Ontario, at LuLu's Roadhouse in 1993. Just an incredible band, and incredible show !!!Too bad Doyle went to rehab and ended the band. Glad he got help though, and I got to see him later, touring with Clapton, and I saw Charlie tour with Bowie, and Dylan.
Saw them in Kitchener Ontario [ LuLu's ], unreal ! Too bad Doyle got messed up, this band would be great. I'm glad he got right, got to see him play with Clapton later on.
this was , and is , a great band !! love livin in a dream, paradise cafe and a few others - almost reminds me of kind of a hairmetal blues vibe.. love that doyle jr has some time with EC too! \m/
saw them in 1992 at the bon ton room in Houston. standing less than a foot away from them. 2nd best concert ever... 1st being SRV of course... Love the Arc Angels!! It's too bad they were only around a couple of years.
Ya gotta wonder what kind of world this is when this band gets only 63,779+ views... DBII & Charlie Sexton, the "Everly Brothers" of Blues/Rock. They just BELONG together. That's a COMPLIMENT kids...BR
From 1968 until today whenever I hear Clapton play I immediately feel better. If I were a younger guitar player I would want a Clapton guitar solo on my album. Memories are my most precious possession.
@coloradoskiergolfer If you did not see it on Austin City Limits, try to find the Double Trouble special. They all appeared, plus some guests. The Double Trouble album is wonderful.
Doyle Bramhall II is the guitar plyaer in this clip in the cow hide clothes. His Father Doyle Bramhall was a drummer and shared some songwriting duties with and wrote for SRV. SRV's keyboard player was Reece Wynans. Charlie Sexton has been band leader for Bob Dylans touring band on off for a few years. There were no slouches in the Arc Angels.
Who is the brain-donor that called them a "Cheesy Blues Band"? This album was one of the best debuts in recent memories. "Too many ways to fall" is an underplayed classic/ And if you've ever heard "See what tomorrow brings"-that's a timeless tune written about Stevie Ray.
Too bad they only put out the one album. I wonder how many other groups have been ruined by herion? I saw these guy at The Steamboat in Austin forever ago...standing room only and they were smokin!!! I do like the Charlie Sexton Sextet but the Arc Angels were AWSOME!!!
Maybe it was good for them to have made only one Cd. Would have been hard to follow up well. Saw them a coupla times, once outdoors in SA and once at Gruene Hall.
I was down on myself both day and night I couldn't get a thing to go just right I was hangin' by my thumb and Slippin' on my feet I had to take a break I couldn't stand the heat Just when I thought I could never win I was doing pretty good for the shape I'm in I went to the movies last night again I couldn't stay long enough to see the end But there was something going on That I couldn't see Everybody's making out on the balcony I was missing out on the fun again But I'm doing pretty good for the shape I'm in I tried so hard to get back in the race I'd be satisfied if I could place There's so much competition but the best Don't always win I'm doing pretty good for the shape I'm in I went to a party and made a few passes One was a dream and the other was nasty I guess you know by now that I did it again But I was doing pretty good for the shape I'm in I was down like a dollar coming up Against a yen I was doing pretty good for the shape I'm in
So much talent in Arc Angels! Want more Doyle Bramhall? Check out this throwback interview with Doyle from 2001: th-cam.com/video/-lCtdBfL3jE/w-d-xo.html
nice video. hot old sexy broads, cool song great guitars . double trouble and you don't need nothing else ... them guys were having a good time... wish it was me.. thanks for posting video .. love this song... who wrote song , arc angels? don't know 4 sure. thanks again.
Love em too but I heard DBII in an interview saying we fell into the stupidest r n r cliché; **Hey let's become drug addicts n be really cool n original** n I'm so glad they all made it out alive but that shit was funny.
Underrated band. Should have broke away from Clapton and T Birds, who conned the Arc Angels to believe they weren't headliners. Shoulda Coulda Woulda but this was a legit band in and out of the studio. Maybe sadness of losing SRV was filling everyone full of doubt or didn't want the reminders but SRV would have told Arc Angels to keep going.
Charlie was the better guitarist until his motorcycle accident, which badly damaged his wrist and forced him to change his playing style. His guitar work on "Pictures for Pleasure" (at age 16) is superior to DBII. That being said, DBII is an awesome guitarist with a style and sound all his own.
superior huh? we have humanity to thank for the competition and useless opinions about the wonderful gift of music. thank you for your contribution, today!(that being said) perhaps it has "all been said". LOL
nemesis6667002 Charlie had an accident ?? Thanks be to Hashem he is ok can still play ....both awesome guitarists - never like to hear of anyone being hurt .....
Who said that?'being a Doyle ll and dad wrote song, would think did the main solo, though video makes it like Charlie playing it,sounds like both sort of too.Wish on albums sometimes could say who playing which guitar solo's,if 2 or more guitar players.Always thought on Doyle ll wrote songs, doing the solo, same for Charlie songs the same. But then some if co write songs, forget which now,who solo,if can tell, think mostly on album tell Doyle ll guitar solo's.But forget on to many ways song who wrote or if co write, sounds like both solo's are doyle's.
sounds like a bad fabulous thunderbirds song. whatever. charlie sexton is a choad. the hendrix of our generation? i want some of what you are smokin dude.
This tune gets my vote for the closest anyone ever got to ripping off Stevie Ray without actually playing one of his songs. The guitar tone is WAY too close, and the singer is only a shade or two off... A little sad... At least it took TWO guitars to recreate Stevies sound, hehehe.
Arc Angels self-titled debut album is one of the best albums ever. Period!!!
I defiantly agree with you bonefish I never thought of getting tired it.MASTER PIECE.
Too bad they only made one album.
The 'period' is the full stop at the end of your sentence. You don't have to actually write the word 'period' FFS.
Damn straight!
This has Stevie Ray all over it i love it
I miss the 1990's.
My doctor told me today that "I'm in good shape for the shape I'm in".
Rumor has it Burton Cummings (former lead singer of The Guess Who) has included this on his new album.
Released near the end of Sept. '24.
Wow I had no idea. I just went and listened to it. I think he did it justice, but I'm not much of a fan of his stuff #negativipeg 🤣
Doyle wins the prize for best rock & roll jacket and hat combo of all time!!
Wonder if he wore it at any of the live concerts back then,or just for the video.
Quiet a few videos on the arc angels channel and another on here wearing them 1 piece Purple outfits, not sure custom stuff or 2nd hand shop bought,?.
...When you want to have some fun having some fun.
Always loved how they alternated singing, especially with such different sounding voices. Thanks for the awesome music guys!
hey man my grandfather is that old dude with the hat,my grampa is pretty cool,he still rocks till he drops ,and then someone has to pick him up
Boy, the days !!!!!
I saw them here in Toronto many years ago....I remember it being pretty good for the shape I was in!
Nothing like good old rock and roll
I lived in Austin from 90 to 94, they blew me away first time I saw them at auditorium shores!!! 2021 still rockin the Arch Angels
Saw them in Kitchener Ontario [ LuLu's ], unreal !
Too bad Doyle got messed up, this band would be great.
I'm glad he got right, got to see him play with Clapton later on.
Down like a dollar coming up against the yen…what a great line. LOVE this album. One of my all time favorites. Saw them at the Ranch Bowl in Omaha.
Got Fabulous thunder birds all over this one. Love ir
an electric blues masterpiece...
this was , and is , a great band !! love livin in a dream, paradise cafe and a few others - almost reminds me of kind of a hairmetal blues vibe.. love that doyle jr has some time with EC too! \m/
Blues rock, Texas blues, Southern rock Call it what you want i call it BADASS.......

@@jackpeters6941 hell ya
Long live arc angels ..that first cd was classic ..🎤🎸😎
Love to EVERYONE!!
Happy new year ! ❤
I enjoyed that!
This album is so amazing, it's one of my all time favourites. It's a shame that they weren't able to do more.
The Arc Angels album is a great vinyl slab of nonstop boogie bop.
I looove these guys!! 👍
saw them in 1992 at the bon ton room in Houston. standing less than a foot away from them. 2nd best concert ever... 1st being SRV of course... Love the Arc Angels!! It's too bad they were only around a couple of years.
Its too bad doyle wasnt a couple years older in those days..
That was a great show. Saw some great stuff at Pat and Pete’s “The Bon Ton Room”.
We spent some nights at the Bob Ton Room.
Love that muttled voice. Close your eyes and its hard to tell if it jimmy or doyle up there
So much tasty guitar work in this whole album. One of my all time favorites
Grew up in Austin watching these guys... They had so much talent!
Old school Rock and roll 🎸🎸🎸🍺
Ya gotta wonder what kind of world this is when this band gets only 63,779+ views...
DBII & Charlie Sexton, the "Everly Brothers" of Blues/Rock. They just BELONG together.
That's a COMPLIMENT kids...BR
I love this band, those of you that got to see them are extremely lucky. D.B2 & Charlie how about a reunion?
From 1968 until today whenever I hear Clapton play I immediately feel better. If I were a younger guitar player I would want a Clapton guitar solo on my album. Memories are my most precious possession.
The House is Rocking !!!!!
Instantly I feel great when listening. It's simple rock n roll. Can't explain it but it's great.
Sounds like a Stevie Ray song, sounds good!
Think Doyle and dad wrote it,reminds me of the house is a Rockin by SRV-DT,and that think now a co write song with SRV and Doyle snr.
Reminds me of something that would’ve been on the Family Style record Stevie did with Jimmy.
I loved this album wish they continued.
They have that old Stevie Ray sound............HELL TO THE YEAH.
I always thought this was the Fabulous Thunderbirds
Real Rock n Roll !
@coloradoskiergolfer If you did not see it on Austin City Limits, try to find the Double Trouble special. They all appeared, plus some guests. The Double Trouble album is wonderful.
Saw them in the 2000s @ hob anaheim . They blew the roof off ...🎤🎸😎🔥
ARC Angels are AWESOME!!! Gooooooosh!!! Can't say it enough.... :)))
Discovered this on Mark Kerr's "Blues Nation" podcast - great old rocker!
One of the best bands ever, seen them several times.
Plus, Little Steven produced it.
@@thehardhours Well your comment is gonna get me to dig that CD out tomorrow and listen again! 😎
I saw them at Myskins in Charleston SC . I never knew there was a video for this . I guess I did not have my MTV at the time .
That kicks ass!!
Brill song!!!
Amen brother!
I remember liking Arc Angels but I have totally forgot Double Trouble was the rhythm section!!! Getting old sucks!
Awesome !
Who is the brain-donor that called them a "Cheesy Blues Band"? This album was one of the best debuts in recent memories. "Too many ways to fall" is an underplayed classic/ And if you've ever heard "See what tomorrow brings"-that's a timeless tune written about Stevie Ray.
doyle is a classic as was his father though different genres
Amen!
Absolutely correct sir!❤
freakin loveeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Too bad they only put out the one album. I wonder how many other groups have been ruined by herion? I saw these guy at The Steamboat in Austin forever ago...standing room only and they were smokin!!! I do like the Charlie Sexton Sextet but the Arc Angels were AWSOME!!!
Impossibly good.
Killer! Never seen this before...
Doyle and Charlie 😎👍
I'm 67 years old. Anybody in Southern California wants to hang out. Get rocked in your old
Doyle!
😊
Could definitely hear SRV do this
There is no one like DBII...
***** did you ever see them live? i did back then and doyle played all the lead. charlie played rhythm.
*****
fact is both can kick it..seen both many times. Doyle and Charlie both killer
I would also suggest checking out Doyle's version from ACL in 1999. I see the link to it on this page....
This F##king rocks!!!
Doyle I know what is is to be addicted.. daily inventory involved to stay connected
NIIIIICE
@jammyjoyful saw them in concert like 91
worth it way worth it
Maybe it was good for them to have made only one Cd. Would have been hard to follow up well. Saw them a coupla times, once outdoors in SA and once at Gruene Hall.
MMM MMM MMM
I was down on myself both day and night
I couldn't get a thing to go just right
I was hangin' by my thumb and
Slippin' on my feet
I had to take a break I couldn't stand the heat
Just when I thought I could never win
I was doing pretty good for the shape I'm in
I went to the movies last night again
I couldn't stay long enough to see the end
But there was something going on
That I couldn't see
Everybody's making out on the balcony
I was missing out on the fun again
But I'm doing pretty good for the shape I'm in
I tried so hard to get back in the race
I'd be satisfied if I could place
There's so much competition but the best
Don't always win
I'm doing pretty good for the shape I'm in
I went to a party and made a few passes
One was a dream and the other was nasty
I guess you know by now that I did it again
But I was doing pretty good for the shape I'm in
I was down like a dollar coming up
Against a yen
I was doing pretty good for the shape I'm in
💪
Pretty GOOD Marc Benno song :>)

I couldn't shut off the Chuck Schumer infomercial that preceded this quick enough.
Angels mine
!!!!!!!!!!!!!
House work brought me here
He's been clean for quite sometime but this is what broke up the band. DB II's girlfriend at the time even wrote a song about it.....
go buffalo bills 2021........:)
nice video. hot old sexy broads, cool song great guitars . double trouble and you don't need nothing else ... them guys were having a good time... wish it was me.. thanks for posting video .. love this song... who wrote song , arc angels? don't know 4 sure. thanks again.

Doyles Heron days.
Sexton somehow ends up holding a Strat at 2:11???

Doyle's choice of attire perhaps indicative of recreational substances...
They stopped because DB II got hooked on Heroin.
SteveGaines Shit happens. He is clean now.
wrong Doyle. Doyle I died. this is Doyle II.
I'm doing better since this song got played.
THIS is the shit !!!
