Man, this character and his story is so well written and acted it's amazing to think that he is just a side character and not the main character of the game.
@@HodajuciParadoks Sadly, by playing Astarion as an Origin character you miss out on like 99% his voicelines he would have as a companion. Sure, there are some scenes where they left them in, and there are some additional scenes where we get new content via the Narrator and seeing things from Astarion's POV (like him waking up at the beach after the Nautiloid crash and freaking out, his nightmare about Cazador, his painfilled night remembering how Cazador carved the scars into his back), but those are mostly in Act 1. And the final confrontation with Cazador is slightly different. But all in all, Astarion is really dependent on Tav being there or something is missing in the equation. No other companion is so dependent on being romanced by Tav to achieve a "good" ending. Other scenes (like meeting Araj Oblodra or meeting Sebastian) are definitely better when he is a companion and you let him talk to those NPCs on his own. Maybe Larian will add some more narration over time from all the cut content footage they have, or simply use existing voiced scenes even in Origin version when it improves the scene.

Love love LOVE this!!!!! Amazing work, from the voice lines, to the song, just everything. U really brought out astarions character and his entire arc. I can't stop rewatching it lol
For games like this I never get rid of main characters. Especially in games like this. They always have special stories. Specifically in this one all the origin characters have stories that tie into the main one. And plus characters tend to go through character development so it's interesting to see as you uncover more about them. Astarion is the absolute best version of this I've seen in a game.
such a nice edit 🥺💕 some of the voice lines i haven’t heard. how did you get them - the one about other people not having a heart like you and not getting the cuddly Astarion pout?
The first bit is from a conversation about not telling Astarion's "siblings" that the ritual will lead to their deaths. I think the dialogue was from the player trying to ask if he had no sympathy for those who suffered like him. So then he says nobody cared for him so he won't care for them.
@@lynnz7501thank you! i’ve done two playthroughs but haven’t come across those other two of his siblings which leads to this dialogue 😕 not sure what triggers them to appear.
@@asmalltalk You can meet at least four of the other six vampire spawn thralls (in groups of two) in the Flophouse and various taverns in Act 3 in Rivington and Lower City or when they come to the inn at night to abduct Astarion when you make camp. But make sure you don't have an item or aura equipped that actively emanates holy light (like the mace The Blood of Lathander) when you enter the room they're in, because that will scare them and cause them to instantly teleport away! And then the game might never trigger their appearance again so you'll have to reload a save.
@@TF2CrunchyFrog thank you! yes, I figured that bit with the blood of lathander already when I saw 'sunlight sensitivity' pop up over those two in the flophouse :)

You can play him as a main character...I do plan to play all origin characters after my own is done.
He will always be the main character lol

Love the video. The edit and music is just, perfection. I just wanted to know what music you used because I love it!
Thanks! Song: Find My Way Back

Beautiful and poignant choice of scenes.
Omg where did you get 0:33 ? I adore this and have never gotten it
Act 3 - when his siblings come to take him away - you choose the 1st persuasion dialogue option :"Have you no heart"
Agh perfect video! ❤ (p.s. song?)
