Incredibly healthy food! I've been watching a lot of these Russian vlogs and two things: The entire county seems amazingly clean and free of any kind of trash. That and the roads and streets are flawless! Everywhere. They're also huge with lane after lane of access. I'm sick of propaganda fed to Americans by Americans about the rest of the world. Russia looks like a proud and beautiful country with an amazing history.
In the cities sure, but keep in mind. Russia is a huge country. The largest in the world. So there is a lot of very remote areas where the roads are either very poor or just about nonexistent. IO know this from watching shows, etc about Russia.
Many of us Indians are grown up reading Russian tales.....and we too use plastic covering for books so that they last long 😀 ...... Love you so much Russians.
Potatoes came from America, slavs use pork and chicken meet, milk and many food from the milk , carrots , apples , tomatoes , bread, kvas from bread (in Russia (it's black bread beer without alcohol) ), hunny , many kinds of berrie and beet
In times when all Europe create and drink beer slavs haven't high alcohol drinking very long time till begun to create samogon and girilka (kinds of vodka that create on the apples or milk and etc). Vodka came after evolution of food and same drinks from milk
Slavs maybe Slavs, but us Germans can't think of any side dish apart from potatoes either. And soup is very important , too. Chicken-noodle-soup is considered medicine for every possible ailment. And we also have hundreds of stews which we also call soup. We eat lots of cabbage, red beet and herring as well. So not such a big difference.

Its not really a premium restaurant chain so it has pretty average restaurant prices. To compare food prices it usually pretty convenient to compare McDonalds prices since it present everywhere. In Russia BigMac costs around 2,5$.
Ei, when I was in Russia, Moscow is more expensive than Piter (that's what locals call Saint Petersburg) as a cup of coffee in Moscow cost 12 Australian dollars! Yikes!
That book is so f*cking cool!!!! It makes me dream about what young people in Russia might have been learning about the U. S. My heart hopes Russian people have warm feelings about our country. I adore the Russians I have known. Such beautiful people and such a beautiful country. We are all so similar in so many ways, yet I treasure the cultural differences and love experiencing new cultures. Your videos are an amazing way to see through the keyhole into your world. if this was cnn they would show tons of soldiers with machine guns everywhere, people would have their heads down afraid of getting arrested, as if it was a lighter side of north korea.
Funny you mention that. CNN just did a documentary on life in Russia. They talked about the quality of life, quality education and the low crime rates in Russia. Interesting enough they also mentioned that the minimum wage in Russia exceeds the American min wage when you factor in cost of living. CNN, when they showed the military in the streets, was in Crimea.

Linguamarina is having lots of fun where she grew up. Food looks delicious, Russians like cats too. Lots of cats in Russia from what I heard. St. Petersburg is where my cousins wife lived in her younger years.
I adore the kitty in the restaurant. I subscribed ♥️ Edit: also I am American but had the interesting experience of living in Russia for almost 5 years (back in the '90s). Old, interesting place and the people for the vast majority treated us quite well. Thank you for your videos. You speak English so much better than I could Russian. Of course, it is well known that Russian is a difficult language (ochen bogati 😁) . Thank you for sharing with us.
I really love your video. Especially that cute kitty cat. I am an American who has a huge love for Russia. I practically have no choice to love Russia as much as I do. Seeing that I am part Russian myself. All thanks to my late father's side of the family. Who is as far as I still know is of Russian, Polish, and Austrian ancestry. Where my Mother's side is of German, English, Irish, and Scottish ancestry. And I have always considered myself more Russian and Polish than the other 5 countries I am a part of. I so totally wish I could go to Russia. Even though I can only speak a little bit of Russian. But the 2 places I would so love to see the most is St. Basil's Cathedral and The Amber Room. But unfortunately for me I can only see and hear things about Russia either through the tv and the internet. Because of my slight fear of flying and the lack of money. Going to Russia is out of the question for me. But I am glad that my late aunt got to see Russia sometime back in the 70s. And after seeing this video I now know where my love for potatoes comes from. Since I am always eating something that is potato related. Preferably the seasoned potato wedges that I love to make.
Go - its a wonderful experience to go to Moscow and St Petersburg. The culture is wonderful - literate, beautiful art museums - especially the Hermitage in St Petersburg, clean, efficient and cheap public transport.
Thank you so much for the tour of your apartment and St. Petersburg! I loved the food tour too! Its' great to find out where the locals like to hang out.
Great video. I am fortunate, as an American, to be married to a Russian (originally from near Kazan). The experience has been amazing, and we are shortly moving to Russia for a few years to spend time with her side of the family. People ask me all the time what Russian food is like, and I tell them that they have probably been eating the same things in America without realizing it. And yes, soup is in the soul of the country (we eat soup at least 3-4 days a week). Apartments in Russia are much better constructed than in America (you don't hear your neighbor use his toilet at 2 o'clock in the morning!). And Marina is correct about the metro train stations...they are complete works of art. I drove my wife crazy wanting to spend time photographing the various train stations in Moscow. I could spend a week just traveling the metro for photographic opportunities. Thanks for the video!
I wish the US and Russian Government would be friends. Americans have much in common with the Russian people. Christianity for example is widely practiced by Russians.
Russia and Crimea have been joined at the hip for....how long? And Ukraine has long been cruelly used by the Sabbatean-Frankists who plan to Rule The World. Watch the video of Ingrid Rimland and her experiences in the Ukraine until German soldiers rescued them and got them safely back to Germany, until Red soldiers raped and sliced off the breasts of all the women they could.
There will never be real friendship between US and Russia; it is the old land vs sea power struggle. Fundamentally US gets rich in international trade by sea, Russia as a land power is interested in trade routes by land. The two will clash as Athens and Sparta, Rome and Carthage until one overwhelms the other permanently. My money is on Russia long term...
We on the American Right want to have a peaceful world but can’t do that with the constant undermining. Trump is the best thing to happen to the US in decades. We want want to have peaceful relations with Russia. It isn’t the “right” that ruins chances of peace. It is the GLOBALISTS on the left and the RINOS on the Right who want a one world government. We on the Right want all of our nations strong and successful. We want TRUE DIVERSITY while the leftists want GLOBAL DOMINATION and one race of people in the world.

This is not how the average Russian lives. Like most Northern countries. there is not the wide choice of vegetables/ fruit as Southern countries, so tends to be monotonous. Outside of Moscow. the standard of living drops dramatically. Russia is very cultural and the people are educated. I think this video is very misleading. But, I would return for another visit. Nice country!!
That video hasnt been filmed in Moscow. And there are plenty of fruits and vegetables in Russian stores. In today world everything is easily imported from other countries not to mention local products. Russia is large and Southern parts of Russia have basically the same climate as France or Spain.
I agree with Paul V. - I came to my home country Russia after 4 years not living here and I saw so many changes. One of them - lots of imported fruits and vegetables. I agree that traditional selection does not offer a large variety. Generally, we are conservative and we like to eat what we grow in our gardens. ) But nowadays it has been changing. Russia has been becoming similar to the U.S. in many aspects that I can clearly see (for instance, eating out becomes so common, it was not that popular in the past).
The toilet room is rather unusual for me - or is it that i'm not used to seeing it since most romanian apartments have the toilet in the same room as the bathroom. There might be places with separate toilets, but I have yet to see one. I liked part of the wallpaper and the 'picture' in the toilet room along the other tiles. they inspire the writer in me lol

6:20 Do you mean compote? It is prepared differently. Looking for strawberries, raspberries, or fruit. It is filled in with water and boiled for 10-15 minutes. A glass of sugar is added. And if you add starch - it will turn out "kissel". And if you mix the jam in water, you will get jam in the water.
Very interesting video thank you a lot. I like your apartment looks very nice. In my country is the same thing: an apartment with one bedroom doesn't have a living room, but I like this kind of houses. I'm from Republic of Moldova and this kind of soup in my country it's like a national dish and it is called "borș" and it is served in all of restaurants during hole year (not only in cold period), and we also have the meat and potatoes and this is very very delicious.

Paul V. Yeah but Russian sushi is different from sushi in Japan :'D. I've eaten sushi in the Rostovskaja Oblast in those Ginza restaurants she showed in the video and I've eaten sushi in Kyoto and Tokyo... From what I can tell, it looks like there's something called "American style sushi" and what you can find in Russia looks like this American style sushi rather than Japanese style. Its not really a premium restaurant chain so it has pretty average restaurant prices. To compare food prices it usually pretty convenient to compare McDonalds prices since it present everywhere. In Russia BigMac costs around 2,5$.
Its really cheap
It also depends on food u order. Fish is always costly here.In Moscow will be even more costly
Ei, when I was in Russia, Moscow is more expensive than Piter (that's what locals call Saint Petersburg) as a cup of coffee in Moscow cost 12 Australian dollars! Yikes!
What a lovely video! I never knew Russians enjoyed sushi so much! Now I must visit someday too!
Привет Марина и Дима !!! Супер !!!
So so so wonderful. Best wishes to you!
thanks for showing your country. respect from USA 😁
The bedroom is so so beautiful, it's definitely my aesthetic. So wonderful.
if this was cnn they would show tons of soldiers with machine guns everywhere, people would have their heads down afraid of getting arrested, as if it was a lighter side of north korea.
That's so true. You know that Lingua Maria is a vast Russian conspiracy, of course. ;-)
FAKE-NEWS
Funny you mention that. CNN just did a documentary on life in Russia. They talked about the quality of life, quality education and the low crime rates in Russia. Interesting enough they also mentioned that the minimum wage in Russia exceeds the American min wage when you factor in cost of living. CNN, when they showed the military in the streets, was in Crimea.

I have family that live in Russia on their American retirement funds, They love it there.
I have been in Moscow from 2008 to 2009. It was hard time for me. So I dicided to come back Vietnam after 1 year there. Really, I like russian people and I stil remember all good memories there and I can speak Russian well. Thanks for your video. I am Hanh from Vietnam.
Your English is great and you have a wonderful way of presenting things.
beautifull and very clean city, St Petersburg. The streets remind me Paris
@Michael Slawson Interestingly, Islam in Russia did not leave any rubbish on the street. I live in Novosibirsk (Siberia) and there is a mosque near me. Islam is a clean religion. It’s stupid to just blame everything on the Islamists.
@@TheMrKMen Islam is not clean go to Indonesia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh etc.

Hi Marina, thanks for your video ....great. I shall be in Russia soon ....this video helpful
Very informative and entertaining. You are very intelligent and beautiful and you present your tour very well. Love the youthful energy and charm.
THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO ABOUT RUSSIAN LIFE. IT WAS NICE TO WATCH IT. THANKS.
Congratulations for 1,000,000 subscribers!!! You really deserve it, you talk about things that actually benefit the viewer. I am glad there are people on TH-cam like you
BEAUTIFUL apartment, very convienent. I would love to visit Russia & I love beats, & soups, lol. Everything looks wonderful.
What city would you like to visit first?
Beautiful country and beautiful peoples. I have dream to visit Sent Petersburg. Lovely and informative video. Keep doing nice video.
Thanks for sharing. I had no idea it was like that there. Just lovely.
Moscow captured my heart I cannot wait to return
Linguamarina is having lots of fun where she grew up. Food looks delicious, Russians like cats too. Lots of cats in Russia from what I heard. St. Petersburg is where my cousins wife lived in her younger years.
I adore the kitty in the restaurant. I subscribed ♥️
Edit: also I am American but had the interesting experience of living in Russia for almost 5 years (back in the '90s). Old, interesting place and the people for the vast majority treated us quite well.
Thank you for your videos. You speak English so much better than I could Russian. Of course, it is well known that Russian is a difficult language (ochen bogati 😁) . Thank you for sharing with us.
Another soup nation here, greetings from Romania!
Preferably the seasoned potato wedges that I love to make.
sounds like you have german on both sides of your family
MR. POTATOHEAD : Hey, you're messing with my Good Thing, Buddy ! No you May NOT cut in !
Patriot93933 as we know Trump is trying but the hatred of the left is trying to stop all attempts with lies, investigations and nonsense.
You don't remember Romney warning the world Russia will be invading Crimea and possibly Ukraine? Both sides play into this game.
I fall in love with Russia every time I see the beauty of their churches and their people...
There are a lot of poor and homeless people living in Russia. But in Moscow everything is so arranged that they are not in the center, and there are many in residential areas

It’s beautiful idea to show diferentes place in your video and Russian nice job. I live in MA and come from Cuba. I glad to found your website it’s a blessing to the sky
That restaurant with the couches that is so fabulous. I would love to travel to Russia.
Which city would you like to travel to first?
I really like St Petersburg. It is totally different from other Russian cities. I felt there very comfortable.
The reason that cat won't eat (or eat much) is because every diner there does what you did, give them food.
Gen Eric or it could be wormy.
You do a great job you can feel the excitement!!
You are funny, nice video, thank you for uploading.
Sapphire Camui Romanian! Why you guys are so rare on the planet ?! :) Romania is one of the countries and cultures that I'm really interested in and when I see a Romanian it's like OMG! :D Well nice to meet you and blessings to Romania! Te pup! :)
Separate toilet and bathroom is absolutely common in (old) Russian apartments :)
toilet in same room as bath/shower is seen as a luxury in russia. So much more convenient that way...
Большое спасибо Marina, I really want to visit St Petersburg one day soon
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful information about Russia, I have gotten an invitation from someone and soon I will visit over there Moscow
Did you like it?
Thanks for showing us your beautiful city! I would love to visit! Not far away...Berlin!
Christel Schmidt Come on Baltic cruise ship from Germany. This way you dont need a visa and can stay in Saint-Petersburg for up to three days.
Interesting... Her apartment is very clean. The portion size in Russia seems less than in the US. I loved the couches there and the cat, of course. I like my current apartment. Nothing lasts forever though.
Yes, agree your English is most excellent!! Thank you for a peek into daily Russian life.
Moving to Russia doesn’t seem like a bad idea, but the language looks very hard.
As Trevor Noah said, they love to make it sound dangerous..
If you want to do it, you will learn it.
Yes but trust me we don't judge if you have a hard time speaking or have an accent cuz we are aware that the language is hard
Amira Swaby I’m sure you will love Russia
3:00 OMG we do that in brazil as well. put a plastic cover on books and notebooks, mostly the ones we use at school when we are younger.
I love this! It’s so rare to find such an authentic video of Russia from someone who is from Russia but also very familiar with American culture. Thank you so much for this video! It was wonderful !
I had no idea about the love for sushi !
We love sushi in Russia!
But both styles have their good points 😁
Worth watching documentary. Thanks
You are very polite and classy.
Great video ! Went to S-P last year for worldcup... Beautiful city with amazing sights. For Canadians...its like going to a Russian Montreal. 💗🇷🇺

not whole russia bruh, only moscow and st. petersburg, other cities and states stuck in the middle century/
@Mannimarco. I have seen videos of Ufa in Bashkortistan, which also looked very nice, just like in this video. I have no personal experience of Russia, so I cannot know how typical any of these videos are for their respective cities.
zzyzx686 if you have seen videos from Ufa (Real Russia channel i guess) thats pretty much how an average Russian city looks like. Not as beautiful as Moscow and Saint-Petersburg but pretty comfortable to live in and of course nothing similar with "middle century"

Mannimarco- It's wrong opinion. I have friends in Pskov, Krasnodar, Orel, Taganrog, Tver, Tobolsk, etc. And the life there is approximately the same. Somewhere salaries are bigger, somewhere are less. But accordingly prices there are less or bigger.

I am 70 years old and visited St Pete and Russia for the first time this year. I was absolutely enthralled. I am obviously an American. I don’t know about the rest of Russia, but St Petersburg was fabulous.
St. Petersburg looks really nice. I have been to Russian but not there. I think most Americans have a favorable impression of Russians. It's a shame that politics messes everything up.
