I have had a Garmin for several years. I had my last one disappear when I got it back from service. Replaced it with a Garmin 780.
Your trick to set up Truck stops is awesome! I have fiddled with it trying to get it to do that.
Now if I could get it to show only stops ahead of me as half of the places are where I have been.
Thank you for sharing. Love your channel and keep up the good work.

You guys work so well together. Chad seems to be more big picture and Tara seems to be more detailed. I like the way Chad starts to tell you how it works and then Tara adds details to the conversation.

Wow! You guys do a lot before your trip! You put in a lot of work. The roads, stops, fueling, safety etc. I had no idea. You got it together! I really like how you explain everything! I enjoyed this part too! I am no an Rv’er but I am learning a lot. It’s such a joy watching you guys & Daisy! Living through you! Things I will never ever get to see! Thanks!

When I saw the description of this video, my first thought was this is going to be a snore fest! However, as usual, you made it enjoyable. I believe you’re the only couple that can even make RV maintenance videos that are entertaining. Nice job and always enjoyable to see. Thank you

Very cool going along on a travel day with y’all. Always seems to be more to do than you expect. Planning for those overpasses is definitely a smart one. I can imagine the pucker factor going under one of those puppies unsure of the numbers. And Tara, you continue to give me hope, kiddo. Knowing that just providing the woman in your life with sewerage will please her to no end. I can’t wait to find that special someone who appreciates an empty black tank. You gave me chills, sweet lady. Bless you. 😬 If only, huh? Lol. You’re a trip and you don’t even know it! Thanks for all the fun, guys. Troy

Excellent video!! .... we had the Rand McNally and switched to the Garmin RV GPS.... love it much better.... I think we have the 780.... not voice activated.... thank goodness after seeing your outtakes.... lol 😂
I see after watching this video I need to work with the RV TRIP WIZARD more! You showed me features I didn’t know it had..... we travel just like you guys, except no fuel stops while going from point A to B.... we added a external fuel tank in the 4x4 dually truck bed and love it! We have a 40ft Montana 5th wheel and very happy to avoid the stress of stopping for fuel! We just make potty stops and check our rig/truck at each stop and lunch stop too.... no more than 350 miles per travel day! Thank you so much for making this video.... a lot of folks need to see how it is on a typical travel day!!! Love your videos... safe travels!!!😎

Absolutely, great advice. Bathroom and Fridge access is essential with slides in. Keep that in mind when shopping for RV's. Touching each wheel when stopped is great advice too, confirming you don't have a wheel bearing going out, or a brakes drum is not working right.

Excellent video guys!! I'm a trucker and have a Garmin OTR 1000 but sometimes tells me to get out of the interstate and into roads difficult for semi trucks, other times tells me to get into express lanes which are illegal for a big truck, was looking for a comparison video between Garming and Rand McNally and in your great video I see that Rand McNally also has similar routing issues. Conclusion no GPS is perfect and we have to use common sense to drive safe on the road. After this video I subscribed to your channel. BIG thank you!!

Great video. We always look at whether we can access the restrooms and refrigerator with the slides in. A little off topic now, I have been meaning to find your video you did where you mentioned some of the supplies you use. I saw on there where you use happy campers in your black tank. So I thought I would try it. WOW. What a difference. It is truly the only additive that has actually helped dissolve EVERYTHING in the tank. I’ll comment there if I can find the video again. I can’t tell enough people about it since we started using it.

Not sure which latches hold your pantry door, but I added an extra hidden plastic click latch (camping world) like many RV cabinet doors have to an undersink cabinet that kept popping open--solving the problem. Love that enthusiastic, travel ready, camping dog Daisy! Thanks for the insightful comparison review of the GPS es. Happy trails Chad, Tara and Daisy!!

Regarding your pantry door: We have a grand design that had the same issue. If you remove the strike plate the door frame isn't nailed and you can place a shim or piece of wood behind the trim before reinstalling the strike plate. This will narrow the gap between the door and the strike plate. This should help keep the door latched more securely during travel.

I have an older Garmin RV GPS, and I'm spoiled to the features that the Garmin units offer (and you can turn the Voice Command function off if so desired). I'm so glad you put the out takes. I have the rv770 and find the voice activation from the garmin is hilarious, mi e is constantly coming on saying "say a command". It took me a week to figure out what was talking to me and a month to figure out why. When I get phone calls my phone automatically connects and I go scurrying to my settings to turn it off. When I'm driving, I love that feature but sitting in my class a and having my gps hardwired in can make for interesting times.

Yes, yes to your Best advice: make sure you can access your microwave, water, bed, and toilet facilities with all slides in! We love our Winnebago Navion 24J (corner bed) since everything is acceptable with slide in. We hit the generator whenever we start too. The Rand McNally is installed as part of ourdash large-screen information/ entertainment center. I agree the Rand McNally is not as intuitive. But if you persist in learning it, soon becomes second nature. We don't use all the features either since we routinely use as you all do. Very much enjoy your TH-cam channel.

Sold on the Garmin thanks to your review, now just trying to find one that's ready to ship. Quick tip , when checking your tires during stops touch each tire to feel if one is hotter than the others. If they don't all feel the same heat wise the hotter tire could be either over or under inflated. Although, you probably have TPS on your 5th wheel, which is most reliable for indicating tire pressure. Also, love your puppy, so darn cute! Thanks for sharing.

She hit the nail on the head that’s precisely my complaint with Rand McNally is the size of the script on the screen and the extra steps planning a trip. I think we will try the new Garmin GPS wife retires in January I don’t think we will be 100% full time in our Coach maybe 80% have grandkids in Texas and California home base is California. The stop in the rest area alone answered a whole bunch of questions for us.

@@ChangingLanes Can’t wait to hear about it! When you put the video together make sure you answer whether the Independent Suspension also has the 8K axels and whether that gets you an additional 1000lbs GVWR. The brochure for the Momentum’s states that the 8K disk brake axel upgrade gets you to a GVWR of 21K.

Chad, Thanks for the video, it is great as usual. FYI, In google street view, in the upper left corner is a icon that looks like a clock, next to the word street view. If you click on it you can change the year, it seams to default to the older dates.

Right! When the camera has Daisy in sight ALL I hear is Charlie Browns teacher talking... Daisy is such a pretty and happy lil girl. Great job y’all and BTW, I know y’all are long gone, but hope y’all enjoyed your stay here in the Bluegrass State. We’ve been going to Whispering Hill RV Park since it was first opened. The folks that own and run it are absolutely wonderful. Safe travels y’all!

I followed your advice and ordered the Garmin RV 890 from Techno RV. Was a little disappointed that it took them 4 whole hours to ship it and it took three days to get here....one of those days a Sunday.....hahahaha. Really it was great dealing with them and amazing service. Thanks for the heads up, advice and recommendation. Keep up the great work. BTW...Daisey doesn't get near enough air time....heh heh....You take good care

Great video. I'm an over the road trucker, have a Garmin OTR 700 myself. My trainer had a Rand McNally GPS and I definitely prefer the Garmin. And it was cheaper! I don't know if you have lead acid batteries on your RV, but Battleborn makes Lithium drop in replacement batteries, far superior to lead acid. They are NOT cheap, about a grand a piece, but last 10 times longer, charge much faster and have twice the usable capacity. IE 1000 actually gives you 1000 instead of lead acid 500 where you only have 250 until the battery is discharged. Check out the Battleborn batteries. I'm big into technology and solar, that's how I know about Battleborn batteries.

Great video! Now I have to go out and see if my Garmin 780 will also let me create a “truck stop” search/icon that will show up in the upcoming locations...also, it looked like you just pushed and held the ‘lock’ button on your door...we have the same but have been inputting the code for both lock and unlock...will have to try that as well...unless it was just the editing did not show it...

I got my RV this year and been slowing getting everything I need for my trips next year. I just purchased the Garmin RV 890 from TechnoRV.com using your link. Same price as Amazon but saved on the 8.75% Tax buying from TechnoRV.com. Also purchase the 50A Surge Guard Portable Total Electrical Protection 34951 with wireless LCD Display after seeing your review of it, once again same price as Amazon but saved $$ on the Tax getting it from TechnoRV.com. Thank You for your reviews.

Thank you, great information. Garmin is in the navigation and technology business and does a lot of military work, I have great confidence in their products. I am going to buy the Garmin, and I've had an auto one for years.

You did a excellent Review. Me personally from a over the road carhauler perspective I notice that the Garmin GPS's are more accurate than Rand McNally GPS units....now here's where both units fail when ever I go to into New York City, Manhattan the Bronx or Brooklyn. Both units fail to give accurate directions, keeping me on Class A truck routes.

I think most GPSs have trouble in cities because so many signals bouncing off the buildings.
