    I would argue that pride is a form of self loathing. It's a defense against those who might make us feel small because in a way we believe it ourselves.

    Why did you stop making these videos?

      I made a decision that I didn’t want to just churn out a lot of content for the sake of content. Unfortunately making these videos takes quite a bit of time, even the short ones. I want to share information I know to be useful or that I genuinely learned by immersing myself in a domain. This has resulted in a lot of notes and piles of books and sometimes the study is a dead end. I fully intend to resume making videos but other areas needed my attention for a while. Books are still being read, notes are being taken, and outlines composed, videos should resume at some point, just can’t give an exact date. Thanks for noticing and reminding me to keep at it. 🙏

    There is a huge overlap between the deficiency vice and the virtues. Are you sure you interpreted it correctly?

    • @ProgressLeavesClues
      @ProgressLeavesClues  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would agree that they don’t fit as perfectly as would be convenient. The main message of the video essay was to apply Aristotle’s golden mean when presented with two extremes and not many people ponder both extremes of virtues which was what I hoped to achieve. I think there is value in the integrative thinking approach of contemplating two ideas of opposite poles and observing whether the tension between the two extremes leads to a third creative solution or some type of synthesis, and Aristotle’s Golden Mean seemed to be a useful tool towards that effect.

      @@ProgressLeavesClues well it is definitely an interesting mental model. It's just unfortunate you had to pick this example to showcase it
