    So this can be a new thing, Bagger Trail Riding (BTR) we can sell guided tours, accessories and riding gear. It'll be huge and at least 10 people will want to do it!

    Love the video. Today is day 4 and test day at Northwest Motorcycle Training in Rainier Oregon learning a smidge of what law enforcement learns. Thanks for your service.

    Cool Vlog Ryan. When I went to MC school the instructor told us to follow him about 4 days into training. Well we were riding in the woods, over small hiking bridges, sand and gravel pits etc. Amazing what you can do on that big Police wheel. Be safe.

    Take it to the next level in increments. Its the hot doggers that usually take the fall first. Although when the crap hits the fan, "you got what you got and you know what you know" :) Be safe out there Ryan!

    Hey man, check out the "Biker Bar" from B&W hitches. Its a way better option then tie downs. I've been using that setup for 3 years now.

    Nice recap. Not everyone thinks of riding the street bike on trail. You have to be ready for whatever comes your way.

    I would like to further riding skills, but I'm not in law enforcement. Are there classes for riders like myself to learn how to ride as well as the officers I see in police motorcycle rodeos?

    Hey Ryan, off topic, but can you recommend a good communicator for a half-helmet? I bought a new Yamaha Eluder and have the capability of receiving phone calls through the bike from my iPhone. I prefer half-helmets for several reasons, one of which is the peripheral vision limitation... and our high heat and humidity on the Gulf Coast.

      Did a review on this 1/2 helmet. It's in our store and there is a review video there ==> shop.lawabidingbiker.com/collections/sena-headsets/products/copy-of-sena-cavalry-helmet-gloss-black

      We have been asked that alot and we are humbled. We have definitely spoken of maybe having that particular wing of Law Abiding Biker......training section etc. Who knows what the future will bring!! Stay tuned.

      Harley rocks for Police Work and has stood the test of time. It's the number one used Police motorcycle in the United States for a very very long time....... and it's a public relations magnet.

    Hey Ryan, is there a chance you and your colleagues might offer something like this for civilians? I would definitely pay the money and make the drive to attend. I've heard of schools in Portland and California but nothing in Washington.

    • @RyanUrlacher
      @RyanUrlacher  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching. There are retired Police Motors Officers throughout the U.S. that run different training schools. Caution though, do your homework on the particular Instructor. Not all Motor Officers receive the same level of training and in fact some hardly train at all and/or call themselves “instructors”. I’d definitely find one that worked a long time on the road as a Motor Officer, was a certified instructor, and/or competed off and on.

    How far ahead were you looking on the trail ride? MAN, that's a heavy bike to be on rutted trails!

    • @RyanUrlacher
      @RyanUrlacher  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally dependant on what was going on. Usually out ahead a bit, but glances in my peripheral down for to avoid the large rocks etc.

    New Subscriber. Thanks for the quality videos. Hard to find on TH-cam these days.
    Is there anything comparable to this training for civilian riders? I have a 2009 Ultra Classic. Bought it from a retired LEO.

    • @RyanUrlacher
      @RyanUrlacher  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there are courses out there that teach these more advanced techniques. You would have to search doe something in your area.

    • @RyanUrlacher
      @RyanUrlacher  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've seen many fail. Hard to put a number on it. It's one of the toughest police training courses here in this area.

    Ive always been curious how much riding experience for the officers typically have before becoming a motercycle cop? Do the go through a local training course first? Do beginning riders get to apply? Would you rather have a veteran rider you may have to retrain and break old habbits or is it better to have a rookie you can teach right the first time?

    • @RyanUrlacher
      @RyanUrlacher  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm going to reveal some of those things in this Vlog series! Stay tuned and subscribe. Hit that bell icon too! Totally depends on the riding experience someone has coming in. Some are easy to train and others aren't depending on how they rode and who taught them. Some are a huge struggle even with years of civilian style riding. Bad habits. We can break most of those habits. Some brand new riders who really want to learn can be easier at times.
