Another fun detail is that because Truman is being watched by hidden cameras, he almost never looks directly at the camera, and when he does, it’s because Red Guy has a camera on top of his head, which is that device you were confused about.

Truman didn't necessarily beat the DHMIS crew in a rap battle, but that wasn't really his goal. His true goal was to beat the execs, and in that regard, Truman easily won.

Everything you missed from the TV show (I think)
"Maybe swap your batteries, it isnt just your set where the lights are out"
In the 6th episode its revealed that yellow guy runs off old cruddy batteries. When they swap his batteries with new ones he becomes smart. Red guy is saying truman will need to do the same.
"You were driven mad with yout wife around"
Potential reference to episode 5 where red guy was in a car
"As a dad im glad to see we're all celebrating Father's day"
Theres a point where red guy and duck debate over who would be the dad of their group. Because of his maturity, red guy claims it to be himself
"Oh wait lets check your dads ID" "Hey I think thatvhe mightve drowned"
In episode 2 Red Guy checks his ID to see if he is dead. The ID then tells him that he will not die for a long time but when he does, he'll drown.
"Those canines look more rabid than my neighbors dog"
Red Guys teeth are revealed at a point in the show and they are absolutely egregious. This could also be a potential reference to a dog in episode 1 which duck is presumably eaten by.
"No sweet talk I aint a fax machine"
In episode one, a fax machine constantly compliments red guy for being a good boss.
"Honey, I had the saddest dream where not so little red riding rug tries on some tacky jeans"
In episode 4 its revealed that "the worm in his brain" tells red guy he doesnt look good in denim, but he doesnt care so he wears it anyway
"Your first pilot was so egregious that it couldnt be green lit"
Many concepts from the pilot were also scrapped. Also the green in green lit is censored because in the first episode of the yt series, the notepad says green is not a creative color.
"Cuz im the top dog" "Hes grolton your hovris"
The dhmis characters like to watch a show called grolton and hovris, a show about a guy (grolton) and a dog (hovris). Yellow guy is saying that red guy is hovris because of the previous line "im the top dog". The onlt problem is that yellow guy always mixes up the two so he ends up calling truman the dog.
"Hes more likely to make it to clayhill than fiji please"
Clayhill is a scrapped location for the dhmis show seen in the pilot.
"Seems they shut it off, like they did to your show when the queen deceased"
The shows airdate was changed after the queen died

There's also "And now there's gifts everywhere, and he's ruined Christmas" which is a reference to when a fan sneaked into the Truman Show by posing as a Christmas present and revealed himself on Christmas. Might also talk about Jim Carrey playing Grinch
@gamingguy2055 in that scene red guy also quietly says "everywhere". It's a reference to episode 2 of the yt series when there's fish everywhere and he says the same thing
Also the fact clayhill has canonically shrivelled up so it no ok get exists

I got every one and that's why as much as I hate to admit it Truman guy won
Rap battles have been much more fire, undoubtedly, but creatively speaking, this is by far my favorite battle. An absolute feat down to the last minute detail. I'd elaborate on what makes this battle so perfect in my eyes but I'd go on forever.

Grolton ( truman in this case ) is a middle aged balding man in DHMIS
Horvis ( Red guy ) is a dog; relating to how Red guy said he was "Top Dog"
So when Yellow Guy said he's Grolton, your Hovris in verse two their is this show in don't hug me I'm scared called Grolton and Hovris and its about a man and a dog so he called Truman a dog

I the first episode of the TV show, Red Guy, Yellow Guy, and Duck all get roped into working at a factory. Each one of them falls into the rolls of stereotypical of workers. Duck is the one that doesn’t fit in and wants more, Yellow is the one who accepts his job blindly, and Red Guy is a bit…weirder. He starts off wanting to do nothing all day, only to become CEO of the company. Why? Because a sentient fax machine sweet talks him, claiming that they like him, and that his shouting sounds pleasing.
During the “Pilot couldn’t be [Brown]lit” bar, Truman tries to say greenlit. But, as the first episode of the DHMIS web series establishes, “Green is not a creative color.” So it gets censored with brown. The people walking by with the wood plank are most likely there to prevent him from finding out why it’s censored, or from investigating the stage light that fell down seconds earlier.
Truman pops a red balloon at the end of his first verse in reference to how the forth episode of the webseries ends, with Red Guy literally getting his mind blown.
Ducks “and he’s ruined Christmas” bar is potentially a line about the actor who plays Truman. Jim Carrey played both Scrooge and the Grinch.
“Walking out now. Don’t try to hold me hostage.” refers to the DHMIS kickstarter videos. It showed the main trio being tied up in Roys basement, being held for ransom. Because if people didn’t “pay enough money” they would be “killed off, and you’ll never see them again.” Speaking of Roy, once the video cuts to Yellow alone, you can see Roy’s head peaking out from the window.
I know this wasn’t the intended meaning, but the line “He’s Grolton, you’re Hovris” has always seen like a “we just owned you” kinda diss. Since Grolton is the man, Hovris is the dog. The man owns the dog as a pet. It also works as Yellow Guy trying to back up Red’s previous line of “being the top dog” as Yellow always confuses which is which.

You may not have watched the TV series, I’ll give you some spoiler free descriptions on the references you might’ve missed. In episode three of the TV series, A pair of creepy twins say that they can’t be together since they’re not a family, Duck, exist insists that they are a family and he's the dad, but Red guy insists that he is the dad. Also in the show there is a Wallace and Gromit parity called Grolton and Hovris, Yellow guy is insistent that Hovris is the man and Grolton is the dog even though that’s not true. In episode two there is a one off gag where Red guy brushes his disgusting grimy teeth. It’s revealed in episode six as a joke that yellow guy runs on batteries. In episode two Red guy wants to be dead so he checks his ID card, his ID card says that he doesn’t die for ages and he dies in the lake he thinks he drowns well....? there’s definitely water. I episode four Red guy tries on denim. In episode one a talking fax machine is very invasive and flirty with him.

Honestly most of Trumans lines were not true ex. the line about the Queen it was just held off for a week not canceled so I gotta give it it to Redguy man ngl but I will say overall this whole video and rap was amazing
