For a UCS Lucrehulk I think you're right that 2029 is the earliest we might get it. However I think that the new Starship collection (midi-scale) now presents for Lego the perfect opportunity to make models that they know might only be popular with hardcore fans without creating so much risk for themselves. UCS is risky because its expensive AND it takes away a rare UCS release slot from something potentially more profitable (e.g. another x-wing lol). A playset would also be very risky because Kids are unlikely to be very interested and many adults (including me) are not as interested in playsets. The great thing about the new midi-scale collection is it provides a lower-risk option for Lego to make those sets that fans and collectors have been asking for. (Also note that because they called it the "starship collection" the Lucrehulk is necessarily higher up on the list than it would have been if it was just a general midi-scale collection.
I have two personal dream sets as a CIS fan A Lucrehulk Playset and an Invisible Hand playset Chances are, the Lucrehulk would do better as a display set with how it's designed, but it still deserves to be a set.
Thank you! I’ve yet to see any MOCs of the Lucrehulk that look as good as designs of the Star Destroyers or X-wings. Even the old UCS Death Star II holds up compared to any Lucrehulk MOCs that I’ve seen. They’d have to design too many custom rounded pieces to make it look halfway decent. That’s also why we never see any Mon Cala ships either. Even the Invisible Hand only works as well as it does because it’s Midi-Scale.
A Lucrehulk is still one of my most requested sets for Lego to make. I tried making some unprofessional Mocs but they weren’t that good. I’d love a £150 or so take on the Droid Control Ship with Nute Gunray, Daultey Dofine, Tey How, Rune Haako and a fair amount of battle droids, preferably some security ones.
We won't get one before a Royal Naboo Starship. It doesn't need to be shiny. We just need one. It's the major macguffin of the film and Episode 1's Falcon.
@slaviclad970 No problem, I'll gladly explain it, its screenwriting lingo. from the wiki In fiction, a MacGuffin is an object, device, or event that is necessary to the plot and the motivation of the characters, but insignificant, unimportant, or irrelevant in itself. The term was originated by Angus MacPhail for film, adopted by Alfred Hitchcock and later extended to a similar device in other fiction. Basically, the hyperdrive of the ship is just a plot device to get them to Anakin and the plot to him hinges on it being broken. Realistically, anything could have gotten them to Anakin, they just needed to get to him for the story of the prequels.
I personally would completely understand why it wouldn’t be shiny and wouldn’t mind, but I know a lot of fans would be spitting mad if they made one and it wasn’t all chromed out
It will probably never happen as the ship has not relevance I am an older Star Wars/Lego fan. until your video, I did not even know this ship has a classification. I just knew it as the ship Anakin accidentally blew up
People say we need a lucrehulk or a royal naboo starship, an N-1 starfighter but no, the next ucs set should 100% be a ucs gozantj class cruiser capable of carrying the recent tie models (the tie fighter from i think 2020, and then the bomber and interceptor from last year.)
Because the designer called it an original trilogy ship and said that the commander could double as the pilot since he’s a yellow clone. I honestly think that it’s way overblown.
I didn’t like it because I thought it was minifigure scale like some of the starfighter builds but I grew to appreciate it as a display piece and the amount of work I put into building it
Why? UCS isn't a particular scale, and while the curves of the ship would necessitate quite a bit of clever engineering to work in Lego, I think it's still quite doable within similar footprints to the UCS StarDestroyers or the Death Star II.
i'll be honest, the lucrahulk is not well known enough to get a ucs set, even if it was included in one of the polls (for example the gunship, tie bomber, or b-wing poll) it would be overshadowed by any other relevant ship. The demand for a ucs lucrahulk is nowhere near it would have to be, especially if it is as you stated in a previous video, where it would cost over 1000 dollars, a lucrahulk midi-scale set is the most i think they'll ever make, if even that.
I think that they could manage a smaller UCS set for $500-$600. But I do see your point-hopefully by 2029 they’ll’ve gotten a lot of the other more in-demand stuff out of the way and a lucrehulk will be on the radar.
So what do you think? Is a lucrehulk something that we need? Will it happen?
Yes and no
A midi-scale lucrehulk would be an absolute dream
Try Mould King. 🎉

That one mini build from the 2020 advent calender: Am i a joke to you?
😂 I also forgot to mention the 2012 Malevolence when I said that LEGO didn’t make a CIS cruiser.
they really should have let this be the October 2024 UCS set, but that is Jabbas Sail Barge
It’s simple. It looks like a nightmare to design.

I want a whole CIS fleet
It’s hilarious because LEGO Star Wars arbitrarily gave every gray or black ship a Lucrehulk color scheme back in the day
I would love to get a lucrehulk! I hope they would have phantom menace Gunray and Haako in it
Midi scale one would go hard

Forgive my ignorance but what is a macguffin ?

That would be a dream set for me. Unfortunately, it probably won’t ever happen. 😢
@crazydog1750 yeah probably :/
Nice voice❤️
Your polls do not equate to the vast majority of the Lego Star Wars community.
I know that, the point was to show that there are people who'd want one.
Why don’t people like the UCS gunship
Because the designer called it an original trilogy ship and said that the commander could double as the pilot since he’s a yellow clone. I honestly think that it’s way overblown.
I didn’t like it because I thought it was minifigure scale like some of the starfighter builds but I grew to appreciate it as a display piece and the amount of work I put into building it
a midi scale one would be cool a ucs one would be way too big
