  • First proper enduro range test for the Stark Varg. Low speed technical single track in a hilly landscape with damp/slippery conditions.
    We switched between factory map 3: 52hp / 80% regen and factory map 4: 56hp / 80 % regen during the whole run, its just a matter of throttle response since we never go full power.

    Great video. Great metrics. This is the video I have been waiting for. I wondered why Stark didn't provide a trail video like this and I guess now I know why. 25 miles of range won't work for me and I'll have to surrender my deposit. I just don't feel like this is the bike I ordered. They said six hours of slow trail riding or about the same range as a 450 on one tank of gas. Opinions will vary but I don't believe those range claims to be true. Also the motorcycle I ordered was 242 pounds not 260 pounds. In my opinion, their marketing claims are fraudulent.

    • @steves2241
      @steves2241 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah the range is a big problem in the woods, and of course they lied about the range and riding time on a charge. It might work for motocross, but it will never work for long trail rides or long enduro races. I did find it strange that you complain it weighs less than they said it does, to me that is a good thing .

    I'm concerned about the reliabilty of running this whole thing off a proprietary Android device. If Stark stumbles and stops providing updates or theres a bug in an OS update you've got a paper weight.
    The other test I wanna see... drop it in 3' of water. Everything but a grip under.
    That's the reason I love 2 strokes and kick starts. Pull the plug, pump out the water, fire it up. Worst case, drop the oil.
    What happens when this thing goes for a swim?
    Super cool machine but the range, the weight, trusting a computer and its ability to handle water is a concern.
    I'll look again when Honda, Kawi, Yamaha and KTM all have an e-bike on the market.

    I really must admit to being extremely disappointed at your extrapolated range from battery charge of 100% to 0 of approximately 25.5 miles. I routinely do 45 mile rides on my KTM 250XC-F. I’m hopeful you’d have the patience to do a 100 to 0 test.

    • @enforcer-enduro
      @enforcer-enduro  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would say that the result actually is a bit better then I expected. Range won’t be a problem for me since I mostly use the bike for intense training and riding, not day trips or excursions. There’s some long range competitions here in Sweden that I rode in the past but this bike wouldn’t have enough range for those, but there’s plenty of other races that won’t be a problem so I’ll be fine. I think that electric bikes with that kind of range is far off in the future.

      @@21AirDrop It seems a bit strange that Bhaskell can do a 45minute moto at a pace that is way above what I could ever do and yet he gets approx only 25miles, I think it's more telling the amount of time he is predicting plus batteries do not linearly lose charge if 173 minutes is getting darn close to 3 hours, which I would never expect a single charge to last 6 even on gas bikes 50miles was considered decent range for pure off road. I watch all of Haskell’s videos and I see how hard he pushes his Varg in a Moto setting at the 60 hp map. Stark says six hour endurance for Enduro. Of course that would be the most optimistic but if I could get 2/3rd of that, it would be just fine but Enforcer Enduro is seeing less than that and this is just not workable for the average Enduro guy in the states.

      Horsepower doesn’t matter that much at low rpm every engine/motor will make low power at low rpm. Torque is more important if u want that acceleration that will flip the bike upside down! Electric motors make their best torque at low(0) rpm and it diminishes as the rpm’s go up. Gas engines make their best torque somewhere mid rpm range usually and this is where the powerband would be

      @@enforcer-enduro i am really exited about electric bikes but i have a feeling that good enough setting will be hard to find. I dont want traction control all the time. I want rear to slide in corners or on soft ground. And terrain is usually changing to quick to turn tc on or off

      @@maucina12 Hopefully the setting will be modular. For me it would be enough if I could have one map with TC and a similar without, its really easy to change map on the go.

      @@enforcer-enduro i am not sure if switch would be good option. Imagine riding down a trail and suddenly a corner with soft sand and after the turn rocks sticking out. No way you could be pushing buttons in between. Or technical climb with combination of soft mud and slipery rocks.

      @@surronzak8154 There were a bunch doing it at hard enduro. You don’t have to worry about stalling the bike and it’s instant torque. Now there are some e trials bikes with them. I talked to some of the E Hard Enduro riders before the event and they said it’s not an issue at all.

      Its quite hard to compare since the track is a lot more beaten then when I had my E-XC. Also its not a fast track, really technical with slow riding. I released a new video yesterday on a proper track and there theres a night and day difference.
