Lovely. Question for you Tom on flues in voids if I poke a 4m flue extension through a ceiling void would you need hatches ect since it’s a continue length. I think yes would be good to aid other engineers but maybe legally no as no joints. Any points of view appreciated
You would not need hatches if there are no joints but a flue over 1.8m with no clips or brackets is an unsecured flue and also engineers visiting later wouldn’t know that the flue is one piece or it has clips so would AR the flue anyway so I guess you should have access to the flue for inspection whatever or engineers would still AR the flue.
@@ElTelBaby if I was soldering you could have a point also if I didn’t have a shit blow lamp you could also have a point and I was also showing were to start and finish when heating the pipe so using the tip of the inner cone wouldn’t have shown that but thanks for pointing it out anyway
Ive always cut pipe, stick it next to wall, where i need bend. I put my finger at point that i want bend to start. Then offer up to my knee and bend, offer back up to where I need bend and check, and adjus if needed more angle on bend. I always bend pipe backover a touch so spring slides out easy, in a twisting pull. Otherwise, spring sticks. I use spring for speed. Any offset bends I use bender mc.
I was showing the process and why you would need to heat it up most of the time there is no need to heat up the pipe remember I make videos for trainees who might not know how to do it.
@@tomkatgastraining yes of course, makes sense, and if you ever needed to use spring and needed the pipe bent without ripples in the copper, then its a good video
Great video Derek, glad your still making them 👍👍👍🇬🇧

Agreed.
Was having this debate with someone!
Thanks
Cheers Derek.
You did well using those crap springs, Buddy 🤘😎🤘
springs are great, cos stick them in your box, no getting big bulky bender out the basement, lol

Thanks Derek
Thanks Derek..
Hi. Do you have any videos on your views about scale reducers?
Sorry no I don’t
quenching will result in a harder tube vs air cooling
Thank you, Nikola Ditsov
Any idea how to bend 8mm without kinking please ?
There are external springs and machines for bending 10 and 8 mm
@@tomkatgastraining cheers
@@tomkatgastraining I've got the pipe benders the mini but it's very hard not to kink the pipe with them
Hi , Drill a hole in a piece of 4 x2 and do it as electricians use to do and save your knees mate .
One thing I do have is great knees mate it’s the rest of me that’s f##ked 🤣😜👍🏻
@@tomkatgastraining You must have been good on the tools then ? and very little groveling needed in times gone by , keep them coming .
