Century eggs are NOT made through fermentation by soaking eggs in soy sauce. Rather, they are eggs cured in salt, ash, clay and food-grade lye or quicklime for several weeks (depending on recipe) as a means of preserving eggs. This preservation process is not a fermentation process because no alcohol or carbon dioxide are produced.
We haven’t been to this buffet in a very long time. I remember thinking it wasn’t worth the price back then, but I honestly couldn’t remember anything about the food. I’m so glad I watched this. Surprisingly, you didn’t turn me off to the possibility of trying it again. I thought the food looked really good. I was surprised to hear Lisa say it was rare not to have a build-your-own salad bar because I can’t remember the last time we saw one. And, Bill with the buffet pizza…Chris has the same opinion on that subject. Too funny! Now, the hazelnut filled beignet had me interested, but I don’t think you even mentioned it after. Must not have been great. I’m fine with just the mint chip - one of my favorite desserts. Thanks for the honest and thorough review, guys!
Thanks Cathryn! The beignets were okay, but then again, we're kinda spoiled by New Orleans. lol. Tim Lee just dropped a Bacchanal video yesterday and he did a great job highlighting the buffet. If you haven't already, check it out. He showed a lot more dessert options!
Thanks for the review B&L. Much appreciated. Sounds like the food is good, but not what it used to be. Hopefully within a year or two (when things calm down and get back to some sense of "normal), it'll be more consistent.
I went on NY weekend a few weeks ago. Paid something like $105 for the “special” NY edition of the buffet. It wasn’t great. These options you filmed actually look better than the “special” one I had.
I’m about half way through the video and so far they seem a bit disappointed, which makes sense. If I paid $80 per person, “not bad” would not be good enough
Uhmmm, $80 ? No thanks, but thank you for the tour ! We were in Caesars 2 days ago, not very familiar with their layout, always get lost ! Hey, Lisa got her hair-did. Very nice. I thought the variety at The Bacchanal was amazing. I tried, but could not eat $80 worth of food. Thanks for another honest review.
Tried Bacchanel last month and was such a terrible disappointment. Used to be our favorite buffet in Vegas but quality of everything has gone so downhill!! Everything was sort of just mediocre. Could not even chew the Korean galbi because it was so incredibly tough and many items were missing proper seasoning. Looked so good from other reviewers but was huge disappointment. Also couldn’t believe how disgustingly stained and worn their upholstered seating by the dessert section has gotten. Surprised management finds that acceptable. Anyway, enjoyed watching your review as always and appreciate sharing your honest thoughts! 👍💕💕💕
Ryan Lackey Quality of Wynn buffet actually improved since before the pandemic. Almost everything was prepared well. Prime rib was even almost Lawry’s restaurant level. A pleasant surprise in light of how other buffets have gone downhill.
It looks worth it b/c a plate of seafood or steak at a regular restaurant can run $60 & up and you’ll still have to pay more for the sides, beverages, & dessert.

Thank you for your honest review . Have you visited either the Wynn or Wicked Spoon buffets recently, and if so, how do they compare to the Bacchanal ?
The problem is for the price of the Bacchanal many people go in with unrealistic expectations that every food item will be Michelin quality. While the décor, ambience, amazingly huge selection, and presentation of food is amazingly done, at the end of the day it's a buffet. Our family went a couple day ago, the seafood had a off night, lobster claws were dry, tough, still defrosting from being frozen and the carving station meats were good but didn't stand out. On the other hand some items like the St Louis ribs and rotisserie chicken were outstanding. I personally think the desserts is the best part of the buffet.
Agreed, this buffet (and others) are all about variety. If you're targeting a specific main dish like steak, it's probably best to just go to a steakhouse.
It is not unrealistic to expect a buffet that is charging $80pp to be excellent from beginning to end. To say that "it is just a buffet" is not a valid excuse. However, if this buffet were to be priced from about $40-50pp, they could be forgiven for a few lackluster items. But since they are obviously going for a money-grab at the price they are charging, they do not get a break if everything is not top notch. Burnt ends come from brisket, not prime rib. If you are really eating the ends of prime ribs, then you are just eating slabs of fat. There is a reason that nobody wants them. Gross.

Went to the buffet before The pandemic (2019) and I though it was ok just to say I tried it…. But not worth going back…. After it closed, I was glad at least I had a chance to try it once. So when it re opened, I felt like going back….. big mistake, it was nothing but average….. lots of options but average nevertheless. We even h overheard the people next table say it wasn’t that good , so if you are used to good food, quality vs quantity…. This place is NOT it… not worth the price
The food looks good but too expensive. I want the pig head. That brisket looks good. Ice cream or gelato is good. 80 is expensive. I watched the whole video.
Went there Aug'21 and it looks like they raised the price $5. Looks the same as when I went but compared to the weeks following their grand opening I don't recommend because they removed items - Raw scallops, raw oysters, fritto misto to name a few. Didn't see the table side service cart too. Wynn buffet is a better value
We’re there last Tuesday. The seafood is not fresh.Crab legs and Lobster claw taste bland and old.Prime Ribs dry and over cooked. Not worth $80.We went to China Town next day and try the buffet there for half price and the Lobster cook to our liking and very fresh.
Bacchanal Buffet definitely overrated in my opinion. My daughter was especially disappointed by the lack of chow mien. I think my favorite buffet ever was the world buffet at the Rio.
Hey Bill and Lisa. Excellent video. I love this place. One of my favorite Bachanal videos. Camera work was great. You did it nice and slow. Great for folks that never been here. I'm wondering if they had beef ribs. Having said all this, I've been watching you for over 3 years. Long before Covid. I've noticed that a few months ago you started posting more often. To the point where you have a video every day or 2. Almost over kill IMO. Anyway happy Sunday. And just slow down a bit. In sure you keep track of your views and views from start to finish. Thanks for being a long time watcher of the channel, Nick, we really appreciate it. Yes, they had beef ribs, I should've gotten one to try. On average, we post 2 to 3 videos a week. This week, it's been every 2 days because we felt the need to get the Disneyland Sweethearts Nite and the CA Adventure Lunar New Year videos out asap because both are time sensitive. Thanks again for watching.
@@billandlisa I was just thinking that sometimes less is more. I got to Vegas 1 or 2x year. Last May was last time. they removed mask mandate while I was there. So much better. I live in S.Florida. Don't wear a mask anywhere. I have an idea. Since you fly pretty much for nothing you should fly down here and go to the the Hard Rock here. It's amazing. A 40 plus story hotel that's built like a giant guitar. As good as anything in Vegas. No buffet tho. They'll be getting craps and roulette soon. Only BJ now. Beautiful pool besides the original hotel and pool. Would make for a couple good videos. I live 30 minutes away. They do charge a lot for rooms. Come and check it out instead of going to Disney. 🤗

We even h overheard the people next table say it wasn’t that good , so if you are used to good food, quality vs quantity…. This place is NOT it… not worth the price
Can't watch prime rib right now ! Must leave video.
The food looks good but too expensive. I want the pig head. That brisket looks good. Ice cream or gelato is good. 80 is expensive. I watched the whole video.
P.S. Char Sui Bao dough was dry and hard- leftovers???
$80.00? The price went up. I thought it was $49.99.
I like to save money by going 30 min before dinner to get the lunch price.
Too many choices Bill n Lisa but awesome 💥💫💯💚📸😊😉😃😄😎💏👋💙🕶👟🥿☕☕☕
Went there Aug'21 and it looks like they raised the price $5. Looks the same as when I went but compared to the weeks following their grand opening I don't recommend because they removed items - Raw scallops, raw oysters, fritto misto to name a few. Didn't see the table side service cart too. Wynn buffet is a better value
one word yummy
$80. Does an Atrial Defibrillator come with the meal?
No, but there's one on the wall. lol
@@billandlisa They don't have to have those at plant based restaurants, gee, makes one wonder!
I went there a few months ago . I thought it was okay , but overpriced .
$80 is a bit steep for me, not that big of an eater, but thanks for the video
👋👍❤
Love the video ❤️
Who is the person in the gray sweat shirt. Is she part of the family?
Lisa's sister.
@@restaurantman who is Lisa? Do you mean Katherine’s sister?
We’re there last Tuesday. The seafood is not fresh.Crab legs and Lobster claw taste bland and old.Prime Ribs dry and over cooked. Not worth $80.We went to China Town next day and try the buffet there for half price and the Lobster cook to our liking and very fresh.
Bacchanal Buffet definitely overrated in my opinion. My daughter was especially disappointed by the lack of chow mien. I think my favorite buffet ever was the world buffet at the Rio.
What’s the best time to go?
Opening time is best for walk ups.
Keep up the good work.
@@billandlisa You don’t need my advice, but here it is :). Post as often as you see fit . No one is required to watch, if they don’t care to. When I have free time, I always enjoy watching your videos , you are both very sweet.
Expensive for not too good menu
Do not watch when hungry. 😭. 😂
😯✌🏻😋👌👍👍👍😁
Thanks for the video but how does it compare to Wicked Spoon for the price?
We haven't been back to WS in a while, might need to do a revisit.
