    I've been sooooooo blessed by these videos, Heidi! It's 15 Dec 2023, and I've not even made a dent on the info I want to learn from you. Thank you!!!

    I'm going to try Dr. Jacob's after my Dr. Bronner's runs out. 👍
    I also use J.R. Liggett shampoo bars and conditioner bar. They offer a discount to Veterans. When I contacted them to ask about a discount, she sent me a FREE sampler!! I didn't ask for it!

    I use the vinegar and baking soda idea for cleaning drains. I also let the dog beds and blankets marinate in white vinegar water before washing to remove doggie smell.

    I've been making & using your multi purpose cleaner for laundry & add peroxide or vinegar also for extra cleaning power or extra smelly things. I also do the same for cleaning the oven. I love making my own vinegar but hate all the fruit flies it always creates. A great vinegar to clean with & deodorizer & detracts ants & flies would be a peppermint or Marigold vinegar.

    I have been making your all purpose cleaner recipe for quite a while now. It is the best laundry cleaner I have ever used, home made or store bought. I also use it in my dishwasher. I had several drop of dish soap with it in the second wash. I always keep the ingredients handy to make more. I have learned so much from you through the years.

    I have been using the receipe for laundry detergent/scouring powder for a while now. I do not add the essential oils and everything still smells great. My adult sons work construction and this gets the tough stains out of their clothes.

    Another great video, thanks Heidi. Have you done any videos on maintaining a functional daily schedule, or effective time management, for self-sufficient lifestyles? You make so much from scratch, so I'd love to know how you schedule your day and week to get everything done, but still maintain such a positive and upbeat disposition.

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have done a few over the years on time management and talk a bit about how I do things but I am always having to readjust things as new things are added, such as grandbabies. I really should do another new one since now I am watching two grandbabies three days a week but here is my most recent from 2021: th-cam.com/video/o7WB9HEi3lo/w-d-xo.html

      @@RainCountryHomestead oh brilliant, thank you! No doubt we all get a bit grumpy at times, but it's so evident in your videos that you maintain an enthusiasm for every day, and a gratefulness for each moment. I sometimes fall into the trap of setting a strict routine, thinking that's the way to maximise my time, but all it does is wear me out and makes me lose the joi de vivre. You seem to achieve that balance between daily toil and daily treasure, so I'll get stuck into the video you linked right now.

    Baking soda and peroxide are great! I have 3 large dogs and live in the country. They like to get into trouble with skunks on the property. When they come back smelling of skunk the best thing I have used is baking soda, peroxide, and dawn mixed together letting that soak for 15 mins and it takes that smell out relatively well!
    Great videos Heidi! Going to try many of these products right away🙏❤

    I purchased the rose and charcoal Dr Jacob's soaps after watching a previous video you did. They are great! The homemade apple vinegar is indeed a wonderful hair softener for those of us with thick, dry, curly hair (curly hair is more prone to dryness) and I also use it in a spray bottle on my plants to help prevent bugs and animals from eating them. I will have to try your tip about hard water stains in my toilet. I think I haven't been leaving it long enough to do it's job.

    I used your "new recipe" for the last batch I made. It's excellent. I noticed the same thing with the "scum" in the washer tub, so I've taken to using soap only for stains, scrubbing in the sink before adding to the washing machine.

    When you put white vinegar in the toilet tank how much do you use? Do you drain the water from the tank first? We get a lot of mineral buildup in our tanks and I think this might help, thank you for the great tips. Still having issues making citrus vinegar for cleaning, I can't seem to figure out the problem but I keep trying. I am using filtered water, it may be my citrus peels but I'm not sure. When you make your homemade citrus vinegar like your oranges and lemons for cleaning do the peelings have to be organic

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When it is for cleaning only, no. I do not worry about that. However, I have found that sometimes the non organic peels can prevent the vinegar from fermenting as it should.

    I really need to made my own laundry powder. Store bought detergents have gone wrong somehow. Too expensive, don't even clean worth a snot, mostly they just smell strong. And I won't even go into the fact they are trying to force you into liquid in plastic jugs (which is mostly expensive water) I went to my local grocery store the other day and there wasn't anything in a box, its was all bottles! Its a smallish store but still, that ridiculous.
