My brother bought one and loves it. The battery life is pretty good too. Also you can charge your phone without having power on site which is huge
Full canopy dmax... that's what I got. It's sick. 40k 2016 model. Decked out the back with packout too mate. You'd love it

Would be interested in seeing more Hikoki and especially Metabo stuff, you don't see much of it at all on youtube. But I'm very happy with the kit I have so far for my sparky work, the grinder I have is great. The company I bought my stuff from threw in the DAB BT radio for free as well which is a nice size and wouldn't have been too expensive to buy anyway, it doesn't have a built in battery charger or usb port which is a shame, but definitely not worth the hundreds more that the other brands are asking for theirs, plus it's happy with the 18v and 12v batteries, not just the 18v ones like some. Probably has very similar internals as well.
Metabo also sells what I believe is a rebranded triple impact from Hikoki, they are sharing a handful of their tools actually.
Would have gone a high end JBL Boombox 2 for that money . Perfect for around pool , beach at the park portability and a little more stylish and milwaukee wont beat that sound . The packout radio is perfect for a grubby worksite though but exxy for the sound
I've had the packout radio for a couple of months now and it was well worth it. Power on battery alone lasts ages and the quality is great. I also didnt think i would use the charge battery function..but i do. Price wise...yeah..but hey she clicks in to everything else and you can drown everyone else's triple m with triple j

Honestly, you can’t beat a van if you can afford to have two cars or just suck up and run a van full time. Soooo much easier
100%. I love the vans. Last few company cars have been vans and they’re great to work out of.
I'm a big fan of the packout radio, other than the price the only downside is that it's heavy
I've noticed that if you stand it upright it seems to improve the bass with the sub reflecting off the floor
I was debating between this packout radio and dewalt tstack. But I found out about the craftsman versa which is 100 bucks and made my choice. Sound quality is pretty much the same on all three. Craftsman was buy the radio and get free battery and charger for $100! Couldn't pass that deal. Now I bought 2 more batteries for 100 bucks and this will make me play the radio for a while. Truth to tell I was expecting much better sound from milwaukee, having the fact that it has most the speakers and the heaviest of all three. Unfortunately the sound is just good, no wow for it's money. Also, it is super heavy!

My problem isn't the price it's the size , far out , I bought one of those Bosch boom boxes once what a space in the ute eating nuisance
Honestky i don't think the packout one is worth the money, I feel that the M12 Radio+Bluetooth which I went for, and is about half price 188 CAD vs 398 CAD and I've never struggled with battery life a 4ah or volume, always leave it on 3
I bought the older Bluetooth radio charger, and it died within a year and a half of ownership I only used it for maybe 20 hrs and Milwaukee wouldn't warranty it, so I won't be buying another one anytime soon

i really see no reason to buy one when you are just working at home i have the older radio and it never leaves the shed unless iam going camping
ive got a festool top rock, I got it from someone that got it free with a purchase. think I paid like $300nzd, sounds great.

Definitely get on the Hikoki line the new gen3 impact driver is just AWESOME it whips in batten screws like nothing and the nailers are great too.
You are right about the range that Hikoki have being a bit smaller but they are definitely making the range bigger and better.
Hopefully the smaller range means that take a lot of care to design and engineer there tools instead of just plonking a heap of crap tools.
My opinion: If I need a new tool I don't think twice I just get Hikoki and I have to this day never regretted my purchases.

My missus has a Pajero Sport, way more practical than a ute for most people.
I’ve loved it. Taken it off road, away on holidays, used it for work and all.
