We have an external pop top screen. Fits behind the struts and and tightens up with Velcro at the back. Only a couple of hundred quid and it’s super warm. We’ve slept upstairs in sub zero temps. Sorry to hear about your troubles. We’ve done 10,000 miles in our Cali in 2 years with very few problems.
Ours Ocean arrived last week delivered from Liverpool, we are in Kent. Excellent service. Currently filling the van with all sorts of goodies. I'd feel the same, they do cost a fortune. Things do go wrong, but hope yours come back soon. My ID 3 is currently with VW(its only 3 months old)for a software update and a fix of all the front safety systems. Only three days so far! Love the channel.

Feel your pain. My van is in the garage after a motorbike crossed over to our side of the road thankfully all involved are fine, apart from my Bea...... my van. Realising how fab the van is, it’s the lifestyle the van brings. Feel like our normal life is on hold till it’s back. I hope and will keep my fingers crossed for u. Going into the fourth week without mine, miss her and just want her back.
Popped to garage yesterday, it was being worked on so I should imagine not long now. Yep California Chris is now based in Wrexham. Your right Diego looks stunning. I’m wondering if the isofix is the right choice. California time fitted there’s but sure they had the rain come through. Me personally would get a wrap for round the top. We have a rainbow screens wrap and for you being tall will be quick to fit, it doesn’t flap in the wind and makes such a difference with warmth. Very pleased with the quality of it too. Oh I am so sorry! I could feel your disappointment through the video. We know how long you all have been waiting for the van and the adventures that came along with it, and we’re keeping our fingers and toes crossed that you get it back sooner rather than later!
I’d be angry too ! Happened to me when I purchased a new car BMW X5 packed in after 2 weeks problems from then on ! ( sold it now) I’ve ordered an Ocean may get it early summer but still not got a build date ! Chin up it will be exciting again when you get it back😊 as for this oil level business surely that at least should be a priority from the VW group as it’s common. Love the green you have I chose the same colour but my wife changed it to Bronze and cream 😏
Watched your video last night, so sorry to hear about your problems. We sold our 12 month old Cali Ocean March this year as we were struggling with the size and no facilities. We have a vw crafter on order with Hillside been waiting 9 months up to now supply issues in Poland. Could you not store your Cali at home and when parts available take your van back as i would worry about leaving my pride and joy at a dealership carpark. Fingers crossed you get sorted soon

Volkswagen have let you down badly. We bought a brand new top of the range Dacia Sandero for our daughter having passed her degree. It developed a fault on the electric system and needed part of a wiring harness replacing to fix the fault. They didn't have the part, so they did the best they could, by removing the same part from another brand new car, they had for sale on display and fixed the fault within hours on the daughter's car to avoid her obvious disappointment and their reputation. This was lowly Dacia. I would expect that a supposedly premium mark like Volkswagen could do the same for you. By the way, I have a van I had professionally converted from a brand new Fiat Talento lwb van. I avoided the luxury car tax for 5 years by doing it this way and after over a year it has been fault free.

Hope it doesn’t have any issues, but honestly I’ve seen quite a few reports of problems with new vans. Have they loaned you a van/car while it’s being fixed..? If it was your only car you’d be buggered..! Could you drive it with the injector issue…? As it’s “ad-Blu” I guess it would just affect emissions. Fingers crossed for you it gets fixed sooner rather than later…👍
Thanks Simon, I suppose people are quick to criticise and rightly so I guess as you want it to be perfect but I can assure you the van aside from the niggles is brilliant. Unless the faults continue then I guess my patience may wain 🤣 Vw advised against driving it which could indicate further problems? I was advised there was no courtesy vans available which I can live with but like you say if It was my only vehicle I’d be chasing a hire car. What colour van do you have on order??
@@AthomewiththeNicklins we've gone for the (outrageously expensive, as you said in the previous video) two tone Bayleaf/White. Given the overall cost of the van, and because my Mrs wanted it, we thought sod it and paid up...! We ordered in June this year and I've set my expectations that well get it next June.

So do VW give you a loan vehicle while yours is off the road? I am collecting my New Cali in March & it will be my only vehicle.
