  • Watch as we place cameras and microphones at SpaceX launchpad 39A during coverage of Starlink 6. This behind-the-scenes episode mixes liftoff footage, audio recordings and music to share some of the beauty and excitement of what it was like to be there, on the ground, documenting. We also get an incredible opportunity to share unique views of Falcon 9 from remote autonomous camera positions and close-in telescopic zooms. I can't believe one of our high-speed cameras caught those birds in flight!! Learn and see more from SpaceX Starlink 6: www.cosmicpers...
In our upcoming new longerish-form series titled UPLIFT, we're taking you further into what it's like to be here, on the ground, documenting the incredible adventure of the new space era coast-to-coast and from the Space Coast, Cape Canaveral, Florida. With more time to explore topics in detail we'll talk about the camera tech we use, answer questions about the footage we've captured over the years, talk space philosophy and share our interviews with astronauts, scientists and the dreamers and doers of space exploration.
We're on a mission to share the perspective shifting beauty and excitement of space exploration through film, VR and outreach events. Hear and see the dreamers and doers of the new space era and link up with recent creations on our website www.cosmicpers...

Special thanks to @Everyday Astronaut for lending a spare camera for extra views.
We also photograph these historic missions! Check out our selection of rocket launch posters, downloads and wall art (most of which are Augmented Reality enabled, linking the excitement of liftoff with frozen detail only still imagery provides): www.cosmicpers...

I can’t wait to see a full length documentary film from Cosmic Perspective. I love the Ron Fricke-inspired art documentary filmmaking here but you definitely have your own artistic style and I’m so thrilled you’re applying it to spaceflight.

We do have a documentary film in the works and look forward to sharing more about it in the near future!

Excellent. Why do you do it manually, rather then programming a travel sequence using motors, if these even exist?
The artistry is well worth it. Well done

Right. We've been experimenting with bigger scopes and joystick/computer smoothed tracking with good success on the last few SpaceX launches. Some bugs during setup had us activate plan B this mission though, which was this manually held scope. The shots blew my mind after a small amount of stabilization.

Stretch goal - Falcon 9 passes through a static camera shot at >mach 1.

Going for that over-the-shoulder behind-the-scenes look... also that way we can see the rocket on the launchpad :)

I was filming with some of the teams who sent science payloads on that flight and SpaceX gave a bunch out to everyone. It's one of my favorites
