My favourite version in youtube. With this interpretation I feel how the song is telling a story and it is no longer just a song 😊

I can easily imagine an actual storm/tempest here: those 16th-note accompaniment passages are the rain, the rapid passages and those high sforzando notes depict flashes of lightning, and there is thunder with the forte bass parts.
Beethoven also depicted a storm in the 4th mvt of his Pastoral symphony.

Beethoven answered the question about the interpretations of 2 sonatas, Op.31-2 and Apassionata; Read Shakespeare's "The Tempest"! The work of the english genius would help to understand the state of mind in which they were composed or must be interpreted. Instead in the pastoral symphony he had literaly described the storm with music. They are two very different situations but if you have heard flashes and lightning, it’s also great!

We used a pair of Line Audio CM3 + 1 DPA 4060 on the floor as a pressure zone microphone to record the reverberation of the space.

Very nice in the contrast of the piano and the forte, but i would like a bit of more sustain in some notes.
But it's amazin how you play that difficult song and the clarity of the sound.

I'm practicing this one, but i don't know how to play it as clean as your interpretation, idk, when i play, the sound seems kinda blurry.. and at 6:21... i'm having trouble with that..

Leider viel zu schön gespielt! Es handelt sich um die „Sturmsonate“, und gerade im 3. Satz stellt Beethoven seine Ausgeliefertheit gegenüber dem Schicksal dar. Viel besser spielt es in mehreren Aufnahmen der erst 15jährige Colin Pütz, auch hier bei TH-cam zu finden.
